Has anyone been out lately? I have not been out too much. I have been going with my brother rad_112176 to see if we could get one on film, but hopefully this weekend I can get out and shoot a doe or upgrade on a buck.

I thought about taking Johnson out because If i remember correctly, Culpepper is not playing this week.

To be honest with you, I was not all that impressed by mallet. Losing out on Pryor was a given. Even if Michigan had any other coach I still think he would have chose Ohio State anyway. Like what has been stated, we have been losing to our greatest rival very frequently lately. So anything to be able to beat them. I do not see it as selling out our identity. You have to be willing to change with the times and adapt to make yourself better. I think this year would have been bad no matter what. We lost a bunch of starters. Did I picture it this bad? No, but I was thinking around 4-5 wins. I also do not know why you call it a gimmick scheme? He has already taken one team to NATIONAL contention with it. Within the last couple of years, teams with with gimmick scheme has giving your buckeyes fits. Illinois last year and Penn State this year comes to mind. So to answer your question, I am not sure if it is worth it yet. I think it will be but only time will tell.

Muggsy, I do not see how you can base Michigans spread on just one year. If you say he has to have the talent to use it atleast let him recruit 2-3 years so he can have the guys that he wants in there. Just because it does not work at one school (Auburn like you said) does not mean it will not work at another. It is all about personel. Look at what Rich Rod did at WVU when he had his own guys. Michigan can go with the hesimans and national champoinships, talent to the NFL and all that stuff also. It takes time to install a new offense and knew that coming in to the season. That is why I am not shocked at this year. So before you make judgements on if it will work or not, lets wait a couple years. So that way we can see Michigan beat up on OSU because we all know OSU has trouble with spreas offenses.

As much as I do not want to admit it, that just might happen. I have a bet with a buddy, who is an Ohio State fan. He gave me Michigan and 14 but I do not think that is enough. I wanted 21 but he would not give it to me.

Guys, I got to see this rack in person. This picture does not do him any justice. His G2s and G3s are 10 inches. His mass carries out prett good also. I rough scored this buck at 142. I am glad he was able to find it.

This happened to my brother a couple years ago. He shot a deer in the shoulder with a slug and dropped it. It stayed down for 10-15 minutes and then jumped up and took off running. We tracked it for 2-3 days and kept jumping him up. We seen him after the season and knew it was him because he had a limp.

I liked the article but I am one of the lazy ones. I would like to find a place that would tan it and scrap off all of the excess meat and fat from skinning it. Is there a place like that or do I have to do that myself?

You did the right thing by backing out. A gut shot deer can live up to 8-12 hours. If you did not spook her I bet she will not be too far. She probably went and laid down and that is where you will find her in the morning. Good Luck and let us know how it goes. By the way, Do not get so down on yourself that you think about quitting. It happens to everyone, just do your best to recover her. I know it gets disappointing but if it is something that you love, stick with it.

Can anyone give me some going rates for a regular european mount and just to get a hide tanned? I just want a piece to throw over the couch, nothing fancy just tanned. I still have to scrap off the meat and fat from the flesh and salt it. How long do do I let the salt sit on the hide before I send it in to a tanner? Any hints or tips for preparing the hide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike
