Wish we could add fish to help our points! lol I caught a 4 1/2 lb bass last Sat. Water is cold but can still get a couple to bite. I may go after bass and stripers tomorrow in a power plant lake about an hour from my house. We got some snow last night so will have to see what the conditions are there later. I'm ready for Spring! Bring on the big momma fish!!! lol Good luck on the hunting guys! Hope we can hang on until the end!

I'm done too. Saw 24 deer on the last day but no upgrades close enough. Saw a couple good bucks that will be real nice for next year. Can't wait to try to find some sheds to see what made it for next year. Saw one that had dropped one side on Sat. It's going to be in the 60's-70 here for the next several days. I'm going to do some bass fishing this weekend. Going to feel like May in January! Hope the big momma fish are biting!

I'm down to tonight and tomorrow for my season. Going to hunt the golf course tonight and my club all day tomorrow. We'll see if I can find a good buck to upgrade with. Good luck guys!

That's good news Hoosier! Good luck with the new ground! Gonna be cold and windy tomorrow but going to give it a try. I've found tracks of a big deer behind the house and the neighbor said he's seen a wall hanger twice coming off my property crossing his. Including once last week. Time to figure him out and try to put him down!

Hey guys. I finally put a buck on the ground last night. Didn't find him until this morning though. He only went 50 yards but went a different direction than I thought. I shot him at 270 yards with my .308. My first buck with a rifle. Pretty stoked. He only has 6 scorable points because he broke a browtine. He's 19 1/2" outside with 10 1/2" and 9 1/2" g-2s. I'm having trouble getting the pics loaded on the entry page but I'll get it straight at some point. Finally got a deer for 2012!!!

I didn't see a deer Fri or Sat last week but I did kill my first coyote ever on Sat. I will try to get in a couple evening sits this week and get back at it Saturday. Bucks are starting to group up again and they are also hitting the food plots but its at very last light or at night. We need to get some colder weather I think to get these deer out sooner!

Took the landowner with me last night and we saw the same buck again but closer. We mulled over it and decided to give him a chance. His left front leg may be broke. He wasn't putting any weight on it but was getting around ok. He's such a young deer with GREAT potential that we hate to take him out this year. Guess we will keep an eye on him. On a good note... while watching him after shooting light was over we had 2 more bucks come into the food plot and one was a good shooter. Nice sure exactly what he was because it was dark but he looked wide and was a real big bodied deer. I'm going back again to see if he will come out before legal shooting light ends tonight. I will shoot that one!

I passed on a nice young 8pt last night right at dark. It was one that the landowner passed on in bow season. However, I noticed after shooting light that the buck has a bad broken front leg and was limping very bad. He looked to be in bad shape so the landowner is going to meet me there this afternoon and I'm going to see if he comes back out and try to take him. If he does the same thing it will be a 300 yard shot but I feel confident I can make it with my .308. In the shape he was in I don't know that he will go far. Just hope we see him before the coyotes do!

Yea Hoosier but for whatever reason all I'm seeing is small bucks. Not seeing many does. I'm going to shoot a slick before the season is out. Seems like everytime I go in with the intent of shooting a doe I don't even see a deer. Strange season so far. Seems like our rut happened in Oct this year and Nov is the "2nd" rut. Real weak and sparatic compared to Oct. I haven't hunted hardly at all behind my house and the deer are nocturnal. I left the place alone for 4 weeks and tried it and didn't see a deer. Tracks are in the field and new scrapes and rubs showing up but damn if they will move in the day light. Really getting frustrated but I should at least be able to knock down a doe before the end of the season... I hope anyway!

Well my 2 week vacation to deer hunt didn't go so well. Saw very few deer. Seems like deer numbers are down in our area as a whole and a lot of people are starting to think we had a bad EHD outbreak. Makes since with the lack of deer sitings even when we started running dogs last week. I'm pretty bummed because I would have thought for sure I would have taken a nice buck the last 2 weeks. Had one opportunity at a good one but blew it trying to get my 10 year old son a shot. Should have shot the deer myself but oh well. Maybe late season will be better. Good luck to everyone else... I'm still going to keep at it!

Our spokepole season started Saturday. Only saw does and fawns though. Won't get to hunt much this week because of the time change but I'll hunt everyday for the 2 weeks after that. I think it will start getting good here again by the end of this week.

Great looking buck RackBlaster! Congratulations man! That will help the team! Our smokepole season comes in tomorrow for 2 weeks. The bucks are starting to cruise a little bit now. I think it will really open up the next couple weeks so hopefully between that and me having a couple weeks off I can put a good buck on the ground! Also, that huge 8pt I showed the pics of was seen by one of the guys in the club headed back to the clubhouse so he is still out there! Be nice to see him with a gun in my hand!

No more but my buddy moved his camera. Nobody has seen that buck so far but I think he is still around. No need for him to go anywhere. Plenty of what he needs where he's at. I hunted him Sat but the deer just didn't move. I'm hopeful with the cool temps the rest of the week and our smokepole season coming in Sat maybe he will show up in daylight hours. Should be good later this week into next week!

Nice buck Hoosier but agree he's a great 3 1/2 yo. I saw 7 bucks last Sat morning but no shooters. The golf course property is finally picking up. My buddy said over night the bucks have tore up the place and he had 2 nice bucks fighting in a food plot Mon night. Things are starting to pick up and I'm so ready to put one on the ground! Just need this warm weather to get out of here!

This past Sat I had a real close call with a big 10pt. He also had stickers off both G-2's. I needed him 10 yards closer to get a clear shot (he was already at 35 and coming to me) but the darn wind shifted on me and he busted me and went back in the thicket. Made me sick because I had that buck dead. Was coming in on a string until that happened. I'm going to try him again this coming Sat. Hopefully get a better result.

That's tough Hoosier but if you hunt long enough it's going to happen. Hopefully you will get another crack at one soon! Good luck! I'm going back out Saturday and maybe tomorrow evening. Just been seeing little bucks mostly. Only does I've seen have been chased by bucks so I didn't want to shoot one of those just in case. I'm ready to fill the freezer though so I'm shooting something soon!
