Thanks everyone for the congrats. BTW... the damage was done by a 100 gr. Magnum Slick Trick fixed blade head. This is my second buck killed with the Tricks in 2 years and they are awesome!
Got a good buck Saturday evening behind the house. It's the big 8pt I have pics of. Only got pics of him two nights all summer so I was surprised when I found out it was him. It happened really quick. When I first saw him he was only 30 yards away and coming. He stopped to hit a scrape on the path and that gave me time to get stood up and ready. When he started back along the trail I tried to draw and my elbow was hanging up in my safety strap. I couldn't get drawn and the deer was only 10 yards away. Finally I drew the bow real low (that took every ounce of strength I had!!!) and got settled. He had stopped, thank goodness, and I put the pin on his shoulder and squeezed. WHACK!!! Knocked him to the ground. He got up and ran about 40 yards and piled up within site of the stand. Arrow hit the off shoulder and stayed in him but I knew it was a perfect hit.
He doesn't score a lot because of the weak brows and G-3's but everything else is nice. He's a good 3 1/2 year old and I'm very proud to take him. My first ever opening day bow kill and a nice buck to boot.
Here is the pic I took when I first walked up on him after the shot.
We are on the board team! I shot a nice 8pt this evening behind my house. It's a buck I got a few trail cam pics of. I'm pumped! Will post the pics of him later but here's a link to the trail cam pics of him. My first opening day bow kill ever (22 years)!

What's up team 15??? I'm getting a little excited with my season starting this Saturday. I found where a buck is hanging out on my property behind the house and hope to get on him opening day.
So what are we doing about a name??? How about:
BONEafied Killers
Slob Banging Freaks
Not feeling very inspired for coming up with a team name right now but I'm good with whatever you guys want. I've been so busy lately I haven't checked in in a while. Hope to have some extra time off to hunt this Fall. Season starts in a week and a half and I'm just about ready. Gonna do a little scouting on another property this weekend and I'll be ready to put some backstraps on tha ground!!!
Got some cool pics of a buck I call "Spike" off my cam this morning. He's shedding his velvet and has some hanging in his face. Pretty cool. He has 4pts on one side and a big tall spike on the other with a couple little stickers. I also have a 9pt that is still in velvet but not sure what to do with him. He needs another year but when I do that I never see them again the next year. We'll see.
Our bow season starts Oct. 2nd. I have a couple properties close to home that I'm hoping will produce a good buck. I also hunt behind my house on my dad's 70 acres and hopefully some of the good bucks I've been seeing will hang around. I'm ready to get this party started!!!
QB: Aaron Rodgers
RB: Ray Rice, J. Stewart, Moreno, Hightower, R. Williams, Barber
WR: M. Austin, Ward, Dez Bryant, Holmes, Hester, Collie
TE: V. Davis
K: Crosby
DST: San Fran
We start 1 RB, 2 WR, and a flex
Whats up fellas? You guys have your buck picked out for this Fall? I have a couple scoped out but fear they may be gone by the start of the season. We'll see.
How goes it Toddy?
I've seen this buck in the field behind the house a couple times, I thought, but haven't had a picture of him until now. He's a pretty nice 8pt but wont score much with the short 3's and browtines. He has a big frame though and it would be tough for me to pass him. I think he will join the 2010 "hit list" if he sticks around!
Pulled my card from the camera behind my house last night and had the freakiest looking buck on it I've ever seen. He's actually kind of cool looking. I'm pretty sure he's an older deer too. The 9pt on the card wasn't too bad either. I've seen him a few times out back. I may give him a pass for next year because I think he's only 3 1/2. We'll see.
Finally had a few bucks show up behind the house. Haven't been seeing them all summer with the heat and drought we're having. Hopefully they will stick around thru bow season!
