  1. October 1for bow season here in Illinois.Since it's on a Monday i probably won't get to go out till the weekend.
  2. I hope it's not true.First I've heard anything about it.With EHD,CWD, and coyotes around I'm not sure that wolves are any kind of answer.
  3. Looks like quite a set up! I just had some home made wine last weekend that a friend of mine made.It tastes way better than the stuff in the grocery store.
  4. Be safe.Sounds like it should be a great trip!Good luck. The last 24 hours seam like the longest before a hunting trip.
  5. I used to shoot Thunderheads myself. The only problem i had was that I would have to adjust my sights between field tips and broadheads so I tryed Spitfire expandables for a season. They flew great, but i shot a doe and didn't get a pass through and blood was sparse and to this day I think I made a good shot but the head failed somehow. Now I shoot Crimson Talons and have no complaints. They fly great and tear things up on there way through.I shot a G5 Stryker yesterday and was impressed. It flew great and is sharp enough to shave an ants butt. The cutting diameter is just a little less than my Talons, but I might try to use it to take an animal this year and see how it performs.
  6. High here is around 70 today and the low was in the 50's this morning.Looks like it's just a teaser for us,but it sure does get me pumped for bow season.
  7. You got it Ken.I wish your family the best.No doubt this is a hard time for everyone involved.
  8. Glad they got her all taken care of Lou.It doesn't sound like it slowed her down much.Little ones sure are resiliant.
  9. Sweet!Great pics,looks like a great time.
  10. LOL.Happy birthday anyways.
  11. I would say MOR was my favorite by far.Now I guess it's The Outdoor Channel, which isn't great, but better than nothing.I'm hoping Direct t.v. adds the Sportsmans Channel soon.
  12. For the most part I wash mine just before bow season i September, just before gun season in November, and just after gun season in December.
  13. Shot mine last night.I will say that I was pretty impressed with how well it flew.I have had problems in the past with fixed blade heads being a little off from my field tips, but these shot pretty darn close to where my other arrows were hitting.Seems to be a great head, but holding it next to my Crimson Talons the G5 looks quite a bit smaller. It did penetrate into my target a little more than the Talons though.
  14. Got mine in the mail yesterday! If I get a chance I might shoot it a few times tonight to see if I like it.
  15. Don't worry about it Sam.The stuff was cheap enough so I figured I would give it a try.I am a little worried about weeds.Since I got a late start I only got to spray once and would have liked to spray again, but didn't want to put off planting any later. We'll see.Hopefully since I planted a little late the weeds won't be a huge problem.
  16. Sheesh, that stinks.Hope they get her taken care of.I guess if something like that is going to happen, the doctors office is as good a place as any.
  17. Birkhoffer ran 3rd in the heat, but broke early on in the feature and finished in the back. Do you run super late models Brad?
  18. Haven't got mine yet.I'm curious to see fow they fly though. If they fly good I might put it on a hunting arrow and try for a deer with it.I always enjoy free stuff.
  19. That looks like quite a hunt!Congrats!
  20. My budget is a little tight this year with building the house. So far I've spent: 80 food plot seed, roundup, lime and fert. 100 Moultrie trail camera 30 broadheads 35 6 arrows, inserts, and fletchings. I'll spend probably another 20 for some new ratchet straps for some stands and that will about do it this year.
  21. Well I made it back in one piece. Not much sleep over the weekend, but lots of rain.Qualifying was delayed 2 hours,so they weren't done Friday night till about 3:30 in the morning and the race was put off till yesterday afternoon.Jimmy Owens set fast time at 15.69 and won the feature from 13th spot in a Bloomquist chassis. Lou, I've talked to Jeep a few times...he's a great kid.He started 23 and ended up 5th.He's really improved the last 3 years and is a threat to win anywhere he races. He's getting quite a fan base and I bet sells almost as many shirts as Bloomquist does. Man,do these campgrounds get roudy! You see things here that you just don't see many other places.
  22. Rotary hoe sounds good to me!Thanks Matg2gs!It works the ground up pretty good as long as I go in tight circles. We finally got some rain here over the weekend,so next weekend I'm going up to check the progress and hang some stands.I'll take a few more pics if I have some growth.Come on Oct. 1!
  23. Should be some great plots!Hopefully you get a little cooperation from mother nature.
  24. I use Sport Wash too. It's cheap and is oderless so I know my clothes don't smell.I believe regular detergents have uv brighteners in them and Sport Wash does not.Not sure if they make a u.v. killer spray or not,but you could probably dilute Sport Wash in a spray bottle with water and do what you want it to.
  25. Welcome to the RT forums! Nice sig.
