  1. Re: Team 1 That's a heck of a six pointer Mach, congrats to your brother! To many Christmas parties last weekend didn't leave any room for muzzleloader hunting. This weekend I'll probably try and hit the stand at least twice for some bowhunting, hopefully I'll see a few bucks that made it through gun season.
  2. Re: My 2006 Indiana Whitetail Nice!That's a heck of a buck!Congrats!
  3. Re: Squirrel Proof Seats I have a Hunters View Razorback that has a padded seat over steel mesh with some clips that you can just unclip it and take with you when you leave. I feel your pain,I have an API with the tuck and fold seat that's about half chewed up.
  4. Re: Theres no reason not to manage!!!!!!! [ QUOTE ] We must all push for laws regarding antler restrictions [/ QUOTE ] I'm not going to blast you,but I will disagree. It's just my opinion, but I believe any type of AR should be the landowners respondsabilty to enforce. If you hunt on his property, you follow his rules or your gone. The landowner should be able to do what he chooses,he does own it after all. If I am hunting a property that's not managed I don't expect the other hunters who I share it with to use the same standards as me just so I can shoot a wall hanger every year. I had an experience hunting with my grandpa a few years ago. After deer hunting for 15 years he finally shot a deer, a little 3 pointer, and he hasn't killed one since, and it was special for me because I was with him at the time.It is one of my more memorable moments hunting, and if we had a state mandated AR,it would be a memory I would have never had.
  5. Re: Son\'s First Deer Man,that's awesome!Congrats to both of you!
  6. Re: finnally got a biggun Congrats! He's an awesome Georgia buck!
  7. Re: IL Muzzleloader Season I've got a permit, but had too many Christmas parties to get away for a day this weekend.I suppose I'll try to fill it with a doe during the late firearm season.
  8. Re: Tanning a Hide? I was looking into doing one myself, and a buddy turned me onto W.B. Place.I think their website is www.wbplace.com .They do hair on tanning for like $50+ shipping. They can also make gloves and jackets.I got my hide back in a few months, and it looks great.

Re: Video Man,that's some great footage!I really like the slow mo replay to show the hit. Not to shabby for his first buck!
  10. Re: 2006 Rifle buck Congrats! That's an awesome buck.

  12. Re: employment woes Good luck finding a new job Clay.Hopefully this is a blessing in disguise and you move on to bigger and better things.I wish you and your family the best.
  13. Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" Well' the Blues retired Brett Hull's # the other night when they played Detroit. It was the first capacity crowd in over 3 years.Unfortunately they got to watch the Blues crumble again. I don't think Thomas can keep it up,he's due to have a tough streak sooner or later.
  14. Re: Dixie Chicks--PUH-LEAZE That's hard to believe, they even had to cancel a few concerts recently because nobody bought tickets...now their nominated for 5 Grammies? I read an interview from them in one of my magazines at home, and this Natalie chick is a huge you know what, and completely full of herself. I just can't stand them!
  15. Re: Theres no reason not to manage!!!!!!! There is no doubt that under the right conditions QDM works great, but much like wtnhunt, our conditions are far from ideal.About 4 years ago I decided to not shoot 1 1/2 old bucks any more, and have only killed two bucks since, including this year. It's something I have no problem dealing with as long as I put some doe meat in the freezer. On one property I hunt me and my cousin are the only ones with permission, and he's been using the same rule as me for 2 1/2 and up.Since we've been doing this I haven't seen any increase in the number of big bucks at all.We don't really do this really for management, but because we like to shoot a little bigger deer. We have a few things going against us. #1-we don't own the property, and the owners don't want us to put food plots in...they keep the property a certain way and that's how they like it.No biggy,I'm just happy to have a place to hunt. #2-Our properties are small. One is 30 acres, and the other is about 100,and both have heavy hunting pressure on surrounding properties, especially during gun season. If I had my own property, and it was relatively large I would absolutely strictly manage it,but odds are it will never happen,so for the moment the 1 1/2 olds get a free pass till next year.
  16. Re: Tonight at the blind She looks like a big healthy doe!Congrats!
  17. Re: Bill Dance like you have never seen him... [ QUOTE ] That was funny. I had some tears coming down I was laughing so hard. [/ QUOTE ] You and me both! That trolling motor one was too much for me to handle.Maybee I'll put his blooper video on my Christmas list.
  18. Re: Happy Birthday! Happy birthday Cody!
  19. Re: Successful South Dakota Pheasant Hunt. Looks like a blast! I sure missed not going this year, hopefully next year I'll make it back again. Can't beat getting your limit and making some new friends.Everybody up that way is so friendly and down to earth I wish I could talk my wife into moving there.
  20. Re: (Pics) Tessa 3 month old beagle pup... She's a good looking pup!I can't think of a better looking dog than a beagle pup. I have one myself myself, but he's 7 now...still acts like a pup.Their natural instinct to run rabbits is amazing.Unfortunately the guy that lives wher I rabbit hunt bought his kids some kittens a few years ago and the bunnies disappeared.
  21. Re: Cubs...WHAT THE &*^#? [ QUOTE ] Wow.....this is getting ridiculous. [/ QUOTE ] No doubt about that.Somethings gotta give sooner or later. Shoot,I would love to just be a middle reliever.....pitch to 2 or 3 batters every other night and make a couple mill a year.
  22. Re: Broadheads \" Mechanical vs Fixed \" I had a similiar problem with mechanicals a few years ago.I shot a doe quartering away and the arrow hit hit the shoulder on the opposite side. When she turned to run off the blades folded up and the arrow spit out.She clotted right away and I lost her.I've been using Crimson Talon since and haven't lost a deer since.I still feel that if I had a different broadhead I would have found her.Maybee...maybe not,but I feel a lot more confident with my setup now.

Re: Prices I just picked my buck mount from last year up.My guy charges $300 for a shoulder mount, and I paid an extra $50 for a nice plaque in the shape of Illinois.I'll put some pics up in a few weeks.
