I got skunked again. I hunted Sunday and Monday, but for some reason am not seeing much. I seen 7 deer, but spent about 20 hours in a treestand. I am out of deer meat, so something is going to die here in the next few weeks.

Nothing for me this past weekend. Only had one little 4 pointer in range. I'm planning on hitting it pretty hard this weekend.

Since the kids were out of school i took off work Friday and brought my daughter out with her crossbow. Seen a doe and a fawn but she couldn't get a shot. I went back and hunted yesterday morning. but only seen a little button buck.

I hunted Saturday morning until 11. I'm finally starting to see some deer. Seen a few dinks, but no does or shooters.

You'll be putting miles on that sled in no time.

Going out tomorrow morning. Supposed to be the first frost of the year! I had to get a new string put on the bow yesterday, so I need to shoot a little tonight and I'll be ready to roll.

You don't see many of those tripod stands around here. It's definitely served you well. Was that on a draw hunt?

Man that sounds like a bad deal. Glad to hear your feeling better. I got sick a couple of years ago and think it may have had to do with a tick or bug bite. I never noticed a rash or bite so the doctors wrote it off. It carried on for several months with no diagnosis.

LOL actually I got a happy birthday about 2 months ago.....but my birthday is in March.

I sat out this weekend. Had a wedding Friday night, birthday party Saturday, and it was 80 degrees on Sunday so we went to pick apples and pumpkins. I should be able to get out at least once next weekend.

Man, that sounds like a great hunt regardless. Not every day you get to encounter a bull moose I imagine. I got out for a few hours Sunday morning, but didn't see a deer. All of the corn is still in up there so I imagine that's affecting deer movement. For some reason it never comes out before November.

I have about an hour and ten minute drive. Getting up at 3 A.M. to be settled in the stand early gets pretty hard toward the end of the season. I used to have a little 20 acre place about 10 minutes away, but lost that when someone offered the owner money for sole hunting rights out of the blue.

I quit shopping at AutoZone years ago. Half of the parts I bought ended up getting returned because they were junk. We have an O' Reilly in town and the guys there are pretty decent to deal with. The O2 sensor needs changed on the wife's Suburban, so her engine light has been on for a few weeks now.

That is pretty cool. My 11 year old daughter does a little crossbow hunting with me also. Nothing like some daddy/daughter time in the woods.

Man that's a bummer. Heck of a nice deer. We need some rain for sure. Luckily we haven't found any dead deer on our place this year. We found 8 on 80 acres two or three years ago when we got hammered with it.

Not much new to report from me. Our season opens Thursday. I'm hoping to get out on Sunday, but the kids have soccer games all weekend so it may not happen. I went up over the weekend and got the finishing touches on my stands, so i'm pretty much ready to rock.

Unfortunately I think Obamacare is here to stay. Too many people depend on it and the subsidies that go along with it. I hope and pray we get a president that can at least come up with some common sense changes to make health care more affordable for the middle class. I know my premiums have went through the roof the last six years or so. It is my #1 largest expense, surpassing my mortgage with last years rate increase. It amazes me that this garbage passed in the first place. Affordable Care Act....really? On what planet is $10000 a year for a middle class family premium affordable? My blood boils every time i think about it. As much as I think something HAS to be done to real in premiums, I'm not holding my breath on much happening even if a republican takes over the White House.

Team 5...lets get 'em boys! I'm still a few weeks away from the start of deer season. Sheesh, four people teams? I remember when we had 10 or 12 people on each team.
