That was an unbelievable game Friday night for the Redbirds. Their lack of consistent offense still worries me in this series. Poor lance Lynn just doesn't get squat for run support. Hopefully the Cards can finish it off at home. I'm growing to dislike the Dodgers quite a bit. I can't stand Puig or Adrian Gonzalez. It was great to see the Royals win a series...been a long time coming for their fans.

Well I shot a nice fat doe Saturday morning. It was really windy, but temps were below normal and it felt good to get in the stand again finally. It is the first time in over 20 years of hunting that I shot a deer opening weekend. Man, it feels good to get one early. I hunted with my cousin and he got a big doe also, so the season is started off right. I got her entered this morning.

This is why I shoot aluminums. Glad he wasn't hurt worse....that could have been nasty.

Nothing new to report here. Today is the first day of the season, but it will be Saturday before i can get out & hunt. It's supposed to be 86 here today anyway so i doubt I'm missing much.

I'm ready to get this thing going! My season doesn't start till October 1st, but for the most part I'm ready. The last two years have been tough around here due to EHD, but this year is looking like it should be decent. Trail cam pics are still slow, but the weather had been cool & it looks like the farmers should have the corn out fairly early this year.

It does go quick. It looks like you & I actually signed up around the same time. Does that make us old timers lol? Despite the problems with the forums there are some great people here.

The whole thing is a mess. The NFL should have dealt with Rice correctly from the start & at least suspended him for a year. Instead they originally suspend him for two games, and now that the video is public change it to indefinitely. Like it ended up being worse than they thought it was. Now it seems like the NFL is just trying to cover their butt since everybody has seen the video.

Highs in the 40's....nice. A cold front is supposed to move through here tomorrow after noon, and by the weekend the highs are supposed to be in the upper 60's & low 70's. It looks like a good weekend to get some final preparations done before deer season if I can sneak away for a day.

Yep...I'm having all of the same issues as everybody else. I belong to four other forums and rarely have an issue, but have problems here constantly.

I had the opposite experience when our ground was logged about 15 years ago. I think a lot of it depends on location and topography. The loggers were there for several weeks during summer & left a huge mess behind. It totally changed the deers travel patterns & I think they preferred to stay out of that area for a while. It took two or three years before things got back to normal.

So they had the big funeral yesterday. I don't get it....this kid is being treated like a hero by the media & the community. All of these people passed judgement on the officer immediately without knowing the whole story. If the cop doesn't get charged & it comes out that he was in his right to shoot, then look out. All of the rioting that has been going on is just a sample of what might happen in that situation.

I have been seeing this on some hunting shows & wondered about it myself. The prices are a little high, but not terrible. The oxygen free thing seems to make sense.

This is actually all going on about 45 minutes from me. I am still waiting to here more details before passing judgment. From my understanding Brown was charged with armed robbery & assault last year also. The kid was no angel. The officer did receive injuries and went to the hospital. Weather or not the officer acted correctly is yet to be seen. I do know one thing, these protesters are not demonstrators.....they are thugs, thieves, and vandals who IMO have no dog in this fight. I feel bad for the people of Ferguson who's town has been torn up & pillaged by strangers & people that don't even live there. These poor folks didn't ask for any of this.

Participation here seems to have been going down steadily over the last few years. When I started here I would check in a few times a day and there were always new posts & replies. Now I could check in once a week and really not miss much. It might just be me, but since the "upgrade" it seems to be even worse. Oh well, I'm in weather we have 3 teams or 12 teams. I always look forward to the deer contest.

Man, I seen this. Absolutely terrible is the only way to describe it. You see guys get out of their cars and go after other drivers pretty regularly at local dirt tracks. I saw the video, and to me it's hard to say exactly how much at fault Tony is. I know this....if the kid stays in his car or at least by his car, then he would be alive and well today. I have my doubts that Tony continues racing after this.

Man, that's crazy. I can't imagine Muck would align themselves with HSUS in any way since a majority of their business is from outdoorsmen. I believe they even sponsor a few hunting shows. I have two pairs and actually love them, but if there is any truth to this I won't be buying anymore.

Man, I have got so much to do before the season opens. Now that the kids are active in sports my spring and summer are packed solid. I have to mow my clover plots, move 3 stands, put up 2 new stands, trim lanes and trails, and my cameras out. It's amazing what a tornado will do to the woods. One farm that I hunt a few times a year got hit a few years ago. I didn't even realize it until I went out to get in my stand and couldn't find it lol. I thought I was lost so sat on a log until the sun came up and realized what had happened. With all of the trees down it has actually made that place very hard to hunt. Glad to hear your camp wasn't hit.
