I seen the moves that they made and can't figure out what in the world they are trying to do. They are sort of the NL version of the Yankees the way they waste money. In fact, I believe the had the highest payroll in the league last season and really not much to show for it.

IMO the Republican party needs a fresh face. They should be grooming somebody right now for the next presidential election, much like the dems did with Obama. The problem is the only names popping up are the same old names we've been hearing for years. If they end up throwing the same old- same old candidate out there I'm afraid they are going to miss their chance. I agree with you guys....a nation that would elect Obama to two terms will jump at the chance to put Hillary in the head office.

Skunked again this weekend. I never seen a deer again. It is starting to get a little frustrating. This farm used to be awesome, but now it's been two weeks since i even seen a deer there. This will be the second year in a row that i didn't harvest a deer with the shotgun. I am getting burnt out, so may take a week or so off.

Good luck Fly! I have been struggling bad to see deer this season. I think I'm done for the year, but I do plan to take my daughter out with her Barnett a few times if the weather cooperates.

Not to bring up a sore subject again, but we just had a meeting with our insurance broker at work this afternoon. It looks like starting January 1st, out rates will be going up 18%. It looks like my portion next year will total about $13000......yikes. Something has got to give with health insurance sooner than later, because this is just not sustainable for middle class incomes.

I hunted Thursday morning & Saturday morning, but never even seen a deer. The weather wasn't great either day, but I expected to at least see something. Our second firearm season is this weekend, so i'll be hunting Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Pretty much went down exactly how i thought it would. From the evidence i saw last night there is know way that the officer could be indited. The actions of the looters and rioters are breeding a whole new generation of racism. I don't think they realize the implications of their actions and the problems they will cause for years to come. These people are treating it like a party and a free for all. It's sickening to watch how human beings can have so little respect for others and their property. I can't believe that the African american community is tolerating this kind of behavior. They need somebody to stand up and shut this down instead of encouraging it.

Sweet! Glad you got it figured out. I don't use bore butter there either, but somehow enough got in there to gum it up when it got cold. I actually haven't hunted with my muzzle loader since that happened lol. I'm thinking about shortening the stock & letting the kids use it with a little less powder for recoil.

Nothing over the weekend. I seen one nice buck but couldn't get a shot off, and passed a few does Friday morning. The deer completely shut down after that and i never seen another deer all weekend. Between our group of gun hunters only a doe & nice 10 pointer were shot....unusually slow for some reason. I'm going to try and do a little bow hunting over the Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm off work tomorrow for our shotgun season. It looks like tomorrow should be good weather wise, but rain moves in during the evening and looks like a wash out Saturday & Sunday. I'll be spending some time in my ground blind if that happens. Movement has still been slow at the farm, but hopefully i can catch a buck on his feet.

I'm right there with you. I pay about $11,000 a year for my portion, and my employer pays a portion also. On top of that my coverage stinks compared to what it used to be. My co-pays, prescriptions, and out of pocket charges are outrages. It gets me red faced just thinking about it. There is know way that my health care coverage should be more than mortgage is. It is killing middle class families everywhere. Back in 1994 I got my first job that offered health insurance when I moved to Minnesota. They wanted $6 every two weeks for coverage, and I said "no way man, that's $12 a month....I need that money for other stuff" lol. Man times have changed.

Man, that is very cool. Definitely worth missing a few days hunting for.

No horns for me over the weekend. I did manage to get another nice doe on Friday morning, so that's two for the freezer, but doesn't help us on points. Talk about a couple of cold hunts.....the lows at the farm Friday and Saturday morning was 15 degrees. I seen some young bucks chasing a little Friday morning, but that was it for rut activity. I seen 12 deer on Friday, and one on Saturday. I'm not sure if lockdown happened or what the deal was, but it just shut down overnight.

Congrats William! That buck is a beauty! I had a similar situation with my muzzleloader a few years ago. I think i narrowed it down to the cold making the firing pin a little sticky & not hitting the primer hard enough on my bolt action. In my case it was about 20 degrees, and just like you it took three times for it to loosen up enough to fire. I must have gotten a little bore butter around it and it just got too thick when it was cold.

Man, we are getting spanked in the points so far lol. Today is the last day of work for the week for me. The cold weather is here. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be in the upper teens with highs only getting up to around 30. Sounds like rut weather to me! Have you had your babies yet Abrown?

Can't say that i have ever used an aerosol scent. Actually next year i am moving away from urine scents and more towards glandular scents.

Nothing for me again this weekend. I must be hunting in dink town because that's all i seen over the weekend. I hunted all day Friday & Sunday & seen 10 deer. Seven of them were little 1 1/2 olds. On the bright side it does look like daytime movement is picking up. One of my buddies i was hunting with shot a nice 10 pointer in Friday afternoon just before dark.
