  1. Yea, the OTC youth tags is a good idea. I think they should do muzzleloader tags OTC also. I do oppose the new late season regs. To many bucks that have shed and preganant does get shot IMO. I also think they should cut back the number on on-resident tags availeable, but that won't ever happen since thay make gobbs more money off a non resident permit. I think the Illinois government is already starting to hurt the deer herd, and it will probably gradually get worse. I hope I'm wrong.
  2. LOL Have a good one Casey!Happy birthday!
  3. Nothing too earth shattering. I already scheduled off work for gun season about a month ago. I don't hunt the late antlerless season unless I have an empty tag and no meat in the freezer, so that doesn't really affect me much.Hopefully the number of deer we see goes up this year.It was a pretty pitifull season last year for most guys around here.
  4. Happy birthday Matt!Hope you have good one!

    morels

I managed to find 23 in about an hour and a half last weekend. If I didn't have food plots to work on all day I probably could've found a shopping bag full.
  6. Good times! It looks like he's enjoying himself.
  7. Kyle Busch got what was coming to him. There's no point in blocking that aggresively with that many laps to go.The kids a knucklehead. Congrats to Brad!He did exactly what he's supposed to do in that situation. If he moves down below the yellow line to avoid Carl he gets in trouble from NASCAR.Carl handled it like a proffesional, and didn't put any blame on Brad, which i was glad to see. It's nice to see an underdog win once in a while. Hey RTF, from what i read this morning, the only reason the one person was airlifted was to avoid the traffic leaving the track.I believe the worst injury was a broken jaw.It could've been a lot worse.
  8. As long as the goaltending keeps up the Wings will be the team to beat in the west. The Blues got swept by the Canucks last night.Next season should be real interesting for the Blues. With Eric Johnson and Karyia back the Blues should be a solid team.
  9. Ugghh! I'm afraid your probably right.Everything the Blues were doing right the last half of the season seems to have went out the door here in the playoffs. They're PP and PK both stink. It's a good experience for the kids though, since I think only 6 current Blues have any playoff experience.
  10. I never really doubted that the deer was real. A buddy of mine went to his hometown for his job a few years ago and heard rumors from local people that it had been poached and shot at night.Could be true, or it could also just be a few jealous people spreading rumors.

    Are you???

You bet your sweet.....I am. I haven't been asked that for a quite a while.
  12. The Blues lost the opening game to the Canucks 2-1.It's been a while since they lost two in a row, so hopefully they can take Friday's game.
  13. I have ordered seeds form maxirack.com a few times. They seem to have some pretty fair prices.
  14. I hunted in a buddies Big Game stand last year, and it is by the best most comfortable lock on I've ever used.
  15. but it's good to be back. We've had a pretty rough year so far so I haven't been around much lately. While my in laws were in Florida for a vacation my mother in law got bad sick and in the hospital. My wife had to fly down on two seperate occasions for a week at a time, and I had to stay home with the kids.Unfortunately, she passed away down there, so we've had a pretty tough past few weeks. On top of that we are pretty slow at work and only been working 4 day weeks, and our health insurance premiums went up AGAIN, so it looks like money will be really tight this summer. Then last weekend my nephew crashed his dirt bike and broke his arm, leg, and fractured a few ribs, so he had to have surgery last Saturday. Tomorrow my 80 year old Grandma goes in for a knee replacement and she is real nervous about it, so she could use a few words to The Man upstairs, that things go well. Hopefully our bad luck is done for the year.
  16. The Blues are in!! They ended up sixth in the west and take on the Canucks in the first round.Nobody(including myself) thought they had a chance, but since January they arguably have been the best team in the west. Not bad for a team that was last in the conference a few months ago.The way they are playing now i think the Canucks will have their hands full in the first round.
  17. Well, the Blues are tied with the Preds for the last playoff spot. They'll need a strong finish the last three games to make it.They've had a very solid last few months of hockey.
  18. I haven't tried those, but my Shot Plot,Winter Pz, and ProVide all grew in great.Let us know how thry turn out!
  19. Man, that's not good to here at all.I know numbers where I hunt were way down this year.It just doesn't make sense to extend the season right now. Our group usually bags about 12-14 deer per season, and this year all together we only got 7.In 16 years of hunting I can't remember a slower season.
  20. Well, with the new house and work cutting back what they pay for health insurance by %50, it was time to get rid of a payment. This was the kind of truck I've been wanting since I was 16, and I did all the work to it myself, so it's sad to see it go. I guess it's just a sign of the times. Time to find a new hunting rig. Here's a pic of my old truck.
  21. Sounds like a great time!Since my 5 year old is becoming such a big hockey fan, she's been on me to take her skating.
  22. Happy birthday Randy!
  23. The Blues played terrible last night, but somehow managed to beat the Stars. They were outshot 42-22 and the stars hit 4 posts.Mason has been very solid in goal for us since they sent Legacy to the minors.
  24. I have Direct T.V., and between Versus, The Sportsmans Channel, and The Outdoor Channel, I think they have about every current show on at some point throughout the year.
