  1. I usually start shooting 10 arrows at 20, then 10 at 30, and 10 at 40, then go back and shoot 5 at 20. I usually only shoot 2 times a week. I also go to the shop and shoot pop-ups and DART from time to time.

    What is....

One morning, about an hour an a half before light, I was walking through an overgrown weed field to my stand. The field is about 4' tall of blonde grass, weeds, and shrubs. It was a fairly bright moon, so I didn't bring my flashlight with me. When I was about half way through though the weed field I see the weeds parting about 20 yards ahead of me, and whatever it is, it's running straight at me. It made some growls and what sounded like a squeel from a hog as it was running towards me. When it was about 5 or 6 feet from me I let out a few loud barks and kicked my foot, and it turned and ran in the woods. To this day I still don't know what it was, but it sounded pretty mean. I always take my flashlight with me now.
  3. Saw it last night....good stuff! That spot looked like a honey hole!
  4. Never have, but always wondered how they would work. I wasn't sure how tempermental or they would be or how good of a draw they would be. No one around here really uses them, but I was thinking about giving them a try next spring. Let us know how it turns out!
  5. I have three lock on's and three climbers. I prefer lock on's for bowhunting and climbers for gun hunting. I can sit in my Gorilla or Summit climber for most of the day, but my lock on's are not as comfortable and I can only handle about 4 or 5 hours at a time in them. I like the mobility of the climbers, but it can be a pain lugging them around and getting them set up. It's nice to have lock on's set up, so you can just walk to the tree ,climb up the ladder, and your done.
  6. Being a Vikes fan, I'm glad he decided to play. I don't have much faith in Tavarez being the starter. I would love it if the Vikes win the super bowl with Favre this year.:hammer1:
  7. Sweet! I'll be looking for it!
  8. Yikes! My dentist tells me I need to have mine taken out, but they don't bother me a bit. I'm not sure if I want to go through that for something that really doesn't hurt.
  9. Happy birthday fellas! Hope you both have a great day!
  10. I heard on the radio this morning that Vick and McNabb are buddies, and MaNabb talked the Eagles into signing him. Maybe true, maybee not. I hate to say it, but I wish the Vikings would've signed him.
  11. Same here. My buddies make it, but for some reason are pretty tight lipped about the recipe. Pretty tasty stuff.
  12. Happy birthday Craig! Hope you have a good one!
  13. I generally try and get any stands or climbing sticks bought after the season is over. The last few stands and sticks I've bought have been around 50% off. Sometimes you just can't wait that long though.:hammer1:
  14. WEC bantam weight champion. He's been tough, but everybody's number comes up eventually....look at Urijha Faber. He's been tough, but Mike Brown seems to have his number. On a side note I didn't think Silva would knock out Griffin so quick. I didn't see the fight, but from what I read Silva really worked Griffin over.
  15. I've planted their Shot Plot brassica, Pro Vide clover and chicory, and Winter Peaz blend. All of the plots did great, and the prices are decent.
  16. The D-40 is decent camera, especially for $70 and with an SD card included. I have had mine for about a year and a half. I did have the flash go out on twice, but Moultrie sent replacements both times, so if you do get it make sure to register it on line for the warranty.
  17. Have a good trip! That's funny because i just got back from a trip to Florida and Georgia. We spent 2 days in Fort Walton Beach, and 2 days at my uncles in Marietta.
  18. From what i hear they are the real deal. This is my first year shooting a drop away, so I wouldn't mind trying a few out, but as of now haven't shot them yet. There's a pretty good amount of info on them over on Archer Talk.
  19. A buddy of mine has one and it's sweet! If money was no object this would be the camera I would get. He e-mails me pics from it all the time, and i'm very impressed with it. It also puts the moon phase and temp., which is great for kepping track of when the deer are active.
  20. I only replace mine if it is fraying, if there is serving seperation, or if it has stretched and my bow is out of spec. For me they last two or three years.
  21. It's a solid bow...same one i shoot only mine is 60 lb. It's pretty forgiving for a short A to A bow. It's a little heavier than my last few bows, but overall it's a sweet shooter.Congrats on the new bow!
  22. Hope you have a great birthday Samantha!
