  1. Hey hey... Happy Birthday and many many more! Hope your day is all you want it to be;)
  2. Ruth, I do not think you an re pin the jaw to stay. Once the cartilage becomes dried or comes off, that is the only thing holding it to the skull. I like to leave the skull in 2 pieces if it is to be handled. The 2 part skull leaves the handler to place the jaw bone in the part that accepts it. Really understanding the structure of chewing for the coyote. Something that will sit on the shelf and not touched. I would glue shut. All of the skulls we have have the jaw separated from the skull. We like skulls in this house:rolleyes: This one of the yotes skulls I have cleaned and whitened. Good Luck! BTW( Thanks for the confidence Kathleen AK sheep )
  3. Atta boy Joe keep knocking 'em dead:D
  4. I don't think that will matter. The difference in the 3 and 3 1/2 shells are, the amount/weight of shot. I believe the powder charge is the same, just pushing a heavier load down range= more recoil.
  5. You should be able to pick up a .20 ga for like $250-300 new. Even less for single shot models, but they kick more. Mossberg or Remington. I picked up my sons gun at Gander Mtn. They have a good assortment of youth sized guns. Mossberg also gives a certificate for 1/2 off of the adult sized stock when the time comes. You get a new stock and a replacement forend to make it adult sized. Cruise www.gunbroker.com for used guns.
  6. You even spelled honor with a "u" for our Canuck friends. You are soo throrough:D
  7. Hang in there the best you can. It WILL get better.
  8. A day at the range shooting 3 1/2 .12ga is like shooting a box of .300 win mags. OOOOUCH! The good part is you only have to do it once:D Good Luck.
  9. I hunt with my sons every year. Maybe shake it up a bit and hunt with the Nuge. Yeah thats it Ted Nugent!
  10. You'll be fine with those loads. Winchester Supremes rock! The heavy shot, tungsten ect, thats the shot that can ruin your standard choke. It is much more dense and heavier than lead. Thats why it gets better flight patterns. It is also 2x the price of any shotgun ammo out there.
  11. Bet you could have never said NO to that Angel... What a Doll! Must look like Mom.
  12. Go get 'em Frank:) Stay ready to hunt if the storm breaks in some way. They have to eat/drink . They will gobble their heads off with thunder, and give away their location. I know you 'll do the team proud;) Have a good time. I have to wait til the 26th and 27th of April to take out my 14 year son, AJ for the youth season. My 16 year old, Joe will be doing the calling, I'll be filming. I am so excited about it.
  13. We miss ya AJ...Happy Birthday! MY AR is still a tack driver...thanks to you!!!!

    caught Ricky Raccoon

I don't want to hi jack this thread:rolleyes: But... my coon cuff is on loan to a neighbor who lives 5 houses down and his trash is a mess every morning. Coons chewed the handles off his trash pails, and they don't lock shut any more. His wife made him spend $350 to have a pest control guy come over. He caught a baby coon said "I got it" and pay me $350. He came 6 times and worked a total of 1 hour I was told. They still had coon problems. He told me one day and I set him up with 2 traps, one live one and the coon cuff. The coon would not fit in the live trap it was soo big. The coon cuff did the trick;). It was estimated at 14 lbs. What a fat coon. Sorry no pics. This coon got the baseball bat treatment from my neighbor, so drowning it, as mentioned previously was not a too bad of a fate. I should be getting it back in the next few days. I'll post a pic of it. It is a spring loaded door that traps the coons hand and keeps it there until you get the baseball bat...or in my case the .22:D

    caught Ricky Raccoon

Don't shoot it in the head, they bleed too much. Just use a regular .22 short through the chest. I HAD coon problems also, always tearing up the trash. No more:D The coon cuff is a dandy little product.

    Just great!

Yes that does bite Joe. Now you and Chris could commiserate:D
  17. Sure that shotgun would do for crows. Just change the choke to a modified or improved cylinder. I like high brass shells like remingtons 3" #4's or you could even use 2 3/4" shells, or even Turkey loads. They are expensive for crows, but work well. Just don't use skeet loads. I know they are cheaper and with crows you WILL be doing a lot of shooting, but get good loads and you get a better chance at the birds. Shoot some skeet and it will be a good tune up for crows. Good Luck!
  18. Nice rigs there Tom. Welcome to the forums:). I am a hardcore crow hunter also...I love it. To use a .410 pistol? That IS a challenge for sure! Can you shoot .45LC in that .410?
  19. I use Winchester Supremes 3 or 3 1/2" #6's thru my Undertaker.
  20. Mr. Heston will be well missed. He was the 1st I can remember, who as a public figure; took it on the chin for gun owners. RIP
  21. The best to you and your family Steve. Hope everything gets back to normal as soon as possible for everyone. Keepin' ya in our thoughts and prayers.
  22. When we went on our 1st date, I gave her the test. I opened the lock and door on her side to let her in the car, to see if she leans over to unlock the drivers side. She did. Right then and there I knew she was the one. Power door locks came later She wanted the same things out of life as I did, kids, house, she could cook, worked in a Deli. Plus she was available and a Babe too:eek: We dated for 6 and married now 17. 23 years and 3 sons later...still going...She is the anchor of this family...a good woman:) You kind of just know...ya know?
  23. So many people started out hunting with the Bear Whitetail Legend:) Me too! A 1989 model. I used it until 2004 and I finally broke down and bought my Mathews Outback. Now I have 5 recurves and 2 compunds:rolleyes:.
  24. Go get 'em Codman! Nothing like doing scouting and knowing there are birds to hunt where you hunt;). Good luck with them and we want to see pics when you knock down that boss Tom.
