Yes crows are quite smart William. My son Joe and I hunt them whenever we can. Killing the sentry is important to bring the rest of them in looking for that sentry. Then lots of #6 shot fills the air. We have a bit wacky hunting law regarding crows here in NYS. Can only hunt them(when in season) Thursday- Sunday. I guess that is to let some of the migrant birds get through. I hope you get permission form the game warden to do what you have to. Check out this site William. It may offer you some good info on dealing with them Democrat birds. Crow Busters - The Complete Resource For Crow Hunting and the Crow Hunter Here is a youtube clip of some crow intelligence. It is trying to get food out of a tube with a wire in its mouth. When it finds out that the straight piece of wire wont work...it puts a hook on the wire and is able to retrieve the food in the tube by hooking it and pulling up out the tube.

I grew up in NYC and spent lots of time on the bays and shores around NYC fishing blues, stripers and flipping EVERY rock I could to see what was under it on the shore. A few years ago I took a trip to Montauk( The end of Long Island) and made it out to the Canyon on a 65' Bertram. It is about 10 miles off shore where the seas floor drops to about 400'. We were fishing for Mako shark. A great experience. Make sure you do it on a good sized boat. I have also been to the Jersey beaches too numerous times to count to swim the Atlantic. Oh Yeah...I also ran out of gas on a jet ski way out in the water when I was in the Bahamas back in 01...Glad they came looking for me .

Charlie...I can only hope one day I will have to opportunity to own SBR's and suppressors. I do think that will require my moving way south of that Mason Dixon line. The Hill Country that is . I'd like to deer hunt with an AR type rifle and the 300 AAC is just the ticket without having to move up to a AR10 platform. The .223 is just too light for our 200lb deer here in NYS.

The birthday wishes will keep on coming...Happy Birthday bud. Hope it is a great one for ya.

You are one heck of a tough man...Continued prayers and thoughts about ya bud. Get well soon and make it up north ASAP.

Continued prayers and thoughts Steve. You are a model fighter. May God Bless you.

Lee racing seems to be a builder...Thanks John! Great stuff on that site. I have been reading about that caliber and think its a hit. Most likely it will be my next upper caliber. I was considering a big bore like the .458SOCOM, the .450 Bushmaster ect, but ammo prices are rediculous and they are hard to find . The .300 AAC seems to be affordable and readily availible. Thanks again for the site John.

DANG!...With a drive like that I couldn't wait to get to work. I get to scare coons away from my trash when I leave and hope to see some whitetail along the way into NYC on my 38 mile commute. Those sheep must be like 10 years old or better! Thanks for sharing those pics.

Forget about all that stuff. I sincerily think it was Al Gores fault...personally:clown:. We need Chuck Norris on the case. Maybe I am still here because I like it here and I don't do facebook. John is right...Facebook is like making a scrape. Everyone stops by to pee in it. Anyway...I have got meet a few of Y'all and have not been disappointed. Maybe some of the talk is redundant...but deer, turkey and other critters almost never do the same thing 2x...so this is where I come to yap about it. Thanks for having me.

I wasnt getting any sound on the vid John, but that is quite interesting. I guess domesticus felinus is related somewhere down the line to Lynx Rufus. Would love to see how that confrontation turned out if they were allowed to touch.

Those pads on the spine look quite comfortable. Good luck with it!

Yes, this sudden blast of cold air is not good for the fruit trees. I happened to notice this weekend on how our apple trees are starting to flower. Sure hope not much damage, if any is done.

Once again...the ARTIST at work! . They look great. What exactly is Micarta Ross? Linen and Polymer of some sort?

Good Luck Shaun. Wish ya the best. Better to regret the things you did, than regret the things you didn't do.

Sweet!...seeing a mature bird this close to the opener is quite promising. My son is out this morning with a youth and he said the Toms were henned up right off the roost. He don't give up. -
My son Joe missed one yesterday eve off the deck at our hunting camp in Sullivan county. That was my fault. I changed the scope on the 22mag, bore sighted it and never fired it. They are fun to shoot...no doubt. Have fun.

Thinking and praying for ya pal. You are one tough cookie. Hang in there.

#56 and counting . Nice shooting Dan. The chucks keep your shooting skills sharp while there is nothing to hunt. I have froze a few in the past and they became coyote/fisher bait for trapping season. What do you do with them? Bone Pile for the birds/scavengers or what ever?

My wife makes a sausage bread that is out of this world. Stir fry the sausage until cooked. Mix meat with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. Add parmesean to it if you like. A little bit of black pepper. Now take a pizza dough and roll it in about 6" wide strips, 12" long. Place meat and cheese mix into dough and stuff mix into dough making a tube like shape. It could be flat or what ever shape you like. As long as the mix is covered and dough encases all the stuffing. Crack a egg and beat it. Brush egg over dough and bake until you get a golden bread. Don't stuff the dough too heavily or it will blow out and become messy and hard to eat. This is one of our favorites here. Enjoy.

Anyone have any experience with this caliber? I am considering purchasing an upper for it. It puts 30cal ballistics in a AR sized rifle without having to go up to the AR10 platform. It also takes the same .223/5.56 mags too. Bullet weights from 110gr to 220 gr subsonic. 300 AAC BLACKOUT (300BLK)

Congrats to you both. Nothing like hunting with your kids .

I have been in the black gun game for many years and was able to get a jump on these rifles back when Y2K was supposed to end the world or at least cause issues with computers not being able to read the year 2000. Stripped AR lowers around here are going in the 2-250 range and a trigger group in the 50-75 range( don't forget you need a butt stock and a upper). Natchez, Midway, Sportsmans guide and Cheaper than dirt all have ammo for the AR's, AK's and .308 rifles. The new funny scare seems to be Zombies and ammo is made specifically for Zombies too. AMM-2461 - .223 Remington Hornady ZOMBIE Max Z-MAX 55 Grain 20 Round Box 3240 FPS "Zombie Defense Ammunition" Everyone who has concerns about the current Whitehouse administration should have ALREADY been prepared. You will pay a premium for ammo and guns now. 45cents a round for Lake City green tip 5.56/.223 ammo is about the norm. Maybe a little less for brass case 55gr FMJ. Steel case ammo in AK and AR form can be had for less. But I suggest having a broken case extractor on hand if you will be firing the steel case stuff. I have had some shoulders ripped off of cases and the wall of the cartridge left in the chamber when firing a AK type weapon. If this happens the gun is useless unless you have that tool. I find it amazing that Wally world is selling black rifles. In down state NY. Walmart stopped selling guns about 5 or 6 years ago.

Oh Yeah...glad you got through it without incident. My friend hit one on his Yamaha FZR doing about 65mph and the faring on the front shattered and he did a number in his pants to boot. Think bout hitting a 12-25lb object and the inertia from your vehicle. A deadly combo. BTW...Welcome to the forums.

Ruth a lot has to do also with what plans the folks you willbe getting calls from and what carrier they use. because as you know with cell phones you pay in and out with calls. I work in Lower Manhattan. Ground Zero, and you would think that I'd have the best signal around...NOT! The buildings are built like Fort Knox so it drains the battery and I almost never have 4 bars of signal. I have been through almost every cell carrier and found that verizon works best for the places I travel to often(NYC to the Catskills). I did have a heck of a time getting service in South Texas this past Febuary. So the area you travel will weigh heavily on the service you will have.I do not have a data plan. I wait until I am home to use the net. I also have a mil spec phone that is shock proof and water proof. The Casio Brigade. Quite durable, good for texting and the woods. Verizon seems to be the best in my experience.
