    alan scores

That is awesome Alan... Congrats. Your first hunt and you connected...at 150yards too! Well done. BIG tip of the hat to the HCO team for making this happen. As Buckee asked Alan...what did you learn?

    Court....

Most traffic courts are all about revenue generation, not so much about right and wrong. It stings Kyle...but it could be worse. One insurance raise could have been more than the fine assessed. Over and done with.
  4. YIKES!!! Hope ya feel better Dan. Prayers on the way. Man I hear that stuff is painful. The adult chicken pox is no fun. Try not to scratch.

    Technology

That is a great idea being in the computer age. Cuts down on paper and handling of the coupons too. What will they think of next...?
  6. Hey you gave him many opportunities to offer a price and he went in the wrong direction. Good for you . Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every now and then. While the luck is flowing...go put a buck on the Mega millions.

    attention realtree

Congrats Alan on your first! They are always special. A VERY BIG atta boy to the HCO team and the effort put forth to help take this man on his first hunt.
  8. I agree TOTALLY Will. I cannot stand that British voice narrating the show on a American sport and tradition. I would rather get root canal or watch Jackie Bushman than "Beyond the lodge".
  9. Hope ya staying warm...burst pipes and no water is not fun. Compounded by the cold and snow.:hammer1: OUCH. How do you heat?
  10. The same show played yesterday(9:30est) right after Realtree Roadtrips...These guys gel so good . Looking forward to seeing more of Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert on these shows. How many well known celebs are on TV pulling the trigger or releasing the arrow? Few. Nice to see them out there doing it. Waddy and crew have a great show.
  11. After many missed shots on groundhogs with the bow...I finally connected this summer for my 1st I also shot about a dozen groundhogs at the country house this summer with the .22mag.
  12. Amazing pics Ben...I can see why you have the feelings you have for back home. What a beautiful place to have grown up and hunted and continue to hunt. Grandpa's house looks like the classic plantation styled home down south. Simply beautiful. How did those blue claws taste? Thanks for sharing the pics.
  13. Here ya go, took these today. We live about 40 miles north of NYC. This is our backyard, our property goes beyond the fence. Ironically... we put the fence up to keep the deer out when the kids were small. Fence is coming down in the spring.
  14. The kwikee quiver...is that for a recurve/ long bow or for a compound bow? Model #? If it is for recurve I will most likely take it. How much for just the quiver? if it is what I need.

    so cold that

Will, I have seen the kerosene type blowers. They look like small jet engines...know what I mean? Used to blow heat into crawl spaces and under homes to thaw out pipes. If you think this will be a continuing issue in the future, I would advise you to install heat trace tape around the water main and meter where it comes out of the ground and leave the tap dripping/running on the faucet farthest away.
  16. Sorry to hear that Jesse. But keep moving forward. Better to find out now than down the road. Plenty of fish in the sea.
  17. Business as usual for democraps. Hope he gets removed for the improper relationships and his constituency sees the hypocrisy and votes him out!

    so cold that

Is there anyway to get some heat under the house to thaw out the pipes?

    Neb-B

    Welcome to the Forums.
  20. More snow to come too... right? You guys are far from done with snow. When will you see grass Joe? April? May?
  21. Adjam5

    I must be..

Mike you talking about 60 years old or 60*. I hear ya Tim, I do not like or handle the cold the way I used to. Make the best out of it and log in them hours for the golden years . Stay warm.
  22. Doesn't the poundage you are drawing have something to do with how fast, flat and hard the arrow hits? If someone is drawing 90+lbs. wouldn't their arrow get there faster with more energy than someone drawing only 45lbs? Yes, it is slower than the speed of sound and the margin for error is present. But that is possibility of any shot with a target than can move before the projectile gets there. A lot of practice will build a persons confidence for those longer shots. No one wants to wound an animal. I think those who take those long shots (50yds+) are confidant that they can make them. For me...bowhunting is about getting close, not how far.
  23. Yup...I'd say a gift for sure . Great set of sheds.
  24. I agree Ruth. It is just plain nasty out there. The flap on the range vent is slapping back and forth in the kitchen. We are in the mid teens here downstate and loving it on my couch:p. Stay warm and I hope the snow don't hammer you guys too much.
  25. Paul...Swampy is Law enforcement, and with a letter from his C.O. he can legally make the purchase with the dreaded threaded barrel/flash suppressor, 6 position stock and bayonet lug. Not that any of it is necessary for function or accuracy. Ken, might be better off getting a post ban model or NY legal AR. If you retire, will you still be able to maintain possession of that evil black rifle if you get it with the No no's of the AWB?
