Re: New Tent They are not top bad to put up, but like bob said 2 guys make it a breeze. I got poles with mine but lodge poles or conduit will work fine and save you a few buckis. Steve B will be hauling mine to Colo for the forum hunt so if anyone is going there they can see how they work. Good Luck AJ. Good choice of tents Bob.

Re: dogs running deer ??? I'd shoot them in a new york minuite I don't care if the owner was right behind them. No tresspassing on my land means just that. I have enough signs up. A couple pounds of hambuger meat with a fair ammount of antifreeze in it will do just as good too. I have a serious feral dog issue around my place and these two options have worked well for me.

Re: What is the best overall rangefinder? Leica Geovid is my choice. It eliminates several pieces of gear. It is a very high quality pair of binocs with a range finder of just as good of quality built in. Until there is one better made I'll carry these.

Re: Single shot Rifles I have a 25-06, .308 win, .270 win, and a 7mm rem mag all in Ruger No. 1's. I use a bolt gun on occasion, but these are my go to rifles and have proven to take game. I believe when I started hunting with these guns that it forced me to concentrate more and only take good shots. Sure i have mised and even made a few bad shots on game, but it wasn't the guns fault, it was mine. I am considering buying my nephew a 243 in the Ruger No. 1 for christmas.

Re: WEIRDEST MOUNT?? I have a badger mounted. I also have a fox the just flushed a covey of pheasants with the tail feathers from on opf the flying birds in his mouth. That is in a glass case above our gas fireplace that is see through from our dining room to our living room.

Re: 25 wssm pros/cons I would go with the original 25-06 or if you are seeking a faster 25 cal look to the 257 WBY mag. Both rounds have taken many, many deer and antelope for me over the years. The oringinal is great, so if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Re: SD Realtree forum get-together to heck with mud lake, just come over to the house and we'll eat a hot breakfast while we let all those guys hunting that public ground run the deer right through my yard. Just pick out the one you want. Don't even have to get cold doing it like that.
