  1. They're on the move Man I hate it for the dog. Hope you actually killed that little sucker
  2. I won't argue with your bs about the sec, 6 straight national championships speak for themselves. However, ask your boy Urban how good Mullen is. Don't forget he was Urban's OC at both Utah and Florida.
  3. I didnt have to go into work today so naturally I've spent the morning out at my place doing odds and ends. I go chek a camera that I have on a ridge top over in the woods. I never take a 4 wheeler in it as to not disturb it, so I walk in grab the card and climb in to my lock on to look at the pics on my digital camera. As I'm about to climb down I realize I'm hearing footsteps a good ways away but headed toward me. So I wait it out... Turns out its 4 bucks. The biggest being a ~125 mainframe 10 that I don't recognize but definitely would've shot. They fed on my ridge top and on each side of me for the better part of 30 minutes and I'm still waiting on the footsteps to disappear so I can ease out. The best one got as close as 35 and only presented me with difficult shots had it been season. Why couldn't this have waited until October? Best pic I could manage. He's in center of frame. Also found a shed this morning.
  4. Because the best pics don't always have deer in them. Those are great pics John!
  5. Meat in the freezer! That's good stuff! Congrats to your bro!
  6. Could have been a lot worse..... Glad it didn't do much damage. I saw all those storms pop up that way yesterday evening. Looked pretty nasty on radar
  7. Team 4-Buckaneers I'm shooting a 06 Hoyt turbotec, 29" 73#. 340 Fmjs and not sure what I'll tip em with yet. 125 gr montecs, grim reapers, or thunderhead probably. Also will be doing some time with my recurve.
  8. think this has been covered It hardly does at all. Just for the heck of it, if you're target is 50 yards away and you're 45 foot up the tree, your shot is now 52.2 yards. It takes a lot of height for it to matter. You figure it simply by the Pythagorean theorem everyone learned in 9th grade geometry- base squared + height squared = hypotenuse squared. Yes, work is slow this morning
  9. Couple New MO Bucks Couple great looking bucks! Love all the daytime movement!
  10. MLB season I think you got the nl right. Hopefully the braves will pull out that one game playoff. Al east race could be interesting over the next month
  11. Redneck empty your inbox!!!! So thats why I couldn't reply to your pm ha
  12. Height for bowhunting deer. I've got one as low as 12 but most of my lockons are around 20 ft. I guess I average 20 in a climber. I'll go 30 if needed.
  13. think this has been covered It won't. It's going to be right at a 19 yard shot using Pythagorean theorem.
  14. Team 4 I like buccaneers as well. Also, potash is right.would be nice if everyone would enter their first deer regardless of whether you think you'll upgrade or not. When is everyone's opener? Mine is oct 1 here in ms but I'm planning to hunt pub land in mo sep 21-24 as of now.
  15. Not going to score well but I'd be glad to stick him.
  16. Team 4 I'm in. Name doesn't matter to me. Looks like I'm the only one in the south if everyone is from where I think they are. I'll hunt in MS all year and plan to hunt in either MO or KY for a few days. I'll be bow only, but I should at least contribute a doe.
  17. Farthest bow kill 42. With a 40ish yard blood trail.
  18. Moving on up in the world.... Awesome! Congrats!
  19. today's pull- pic heavy Ordered them from simmonsportinggoods.com
  20. Pulled these three today. I can't find a big buck to save my life. If this keeps up I'll have to take the recurve a lot more than planned. This is my salt lick on a clover plot. Plenty of pics on it, but these are the only two decent ones. I've posted a couple pics of the first already. The second one is new. This is from a trail about 500 yards away. First buck is the same from first pic. Had 64 pics over 10 days, a lot were daytime. Think I'll finally hang a stand here this year. Pics from a $30 hunten cam Just stuck a camera on this trail. Not but about 400 yards from each of the other cams. There's an ameristep lockon directly behinds this cam. This buck is new and the spike is the same from above. Pics from a $35 tasco.
  21. Archery shops. Just something to think about, but he may have thought you were just using his shop to tryout the bows and then you'd be buying online.
  22. ready for deer season It can't get here soon enough
  23. Music you listen to while on the way to your hunting spot? I reckon I listen to whatever is on the country stations I can pick up. I keep a George strait cd in just in case there's nothing decent on the radio. Don't really use music to pump me up for a hunt though.
