The season definitely started tonight. It is kind of strange watching Capt Phil on the show knowing what happens to him.

I've been looking at getting into smoking myself and it appears I'll spend a few extra bucks to get a propane smoker. Thanks for the info on that. Does anyone know of any books or websites that contains info for the newbie when it comes to smoking? I can't probably figure some stuff out but want to learn as much as I can first.

I'm sure glad to see Freddie Couples playing well. He always has and always will be my favorite golfer. I just loved the fact that he was out playing in tennis shoes which I can only assume was to keep the torque down and limit his back pain. Something tells me they will ratchet the course down a little and we won't be seeing so many low scores come this weekend.

I had a few choice words for old man winter this morning as I was brushing snow from my truck. But then I realized it could have been a 6-8 inch dumping and was happy with flurries. I was just getting used to the 70+ temps though.

That is a great idea with welding the gun rack on there. I tried biking into a far deer stand I had once and it was a real pain carrying my bow. It sure is a heck of a lot faster than walking.

Been a Cubs fan since the day I was born. I'm going into this season with zero expectations and hope they prove me wrong. I can't wait until July when I'll be sitting out in the bleacher seats drinking Old Styles.

I hear ya. I've got 23 days until my first day I can go. Unfortunately I can only get out for 1.5 days the first week I drew but I'll make the best of it. I have another week in the end of May which I should be able to hunt3 days of. I definitely can't wait.

Seems to me the only way to take care of the problem would be to create a DMZ between the two countries. The problem is obviously that serious but it doesn't seem that anyone in the government cares to do anything about it. I would live in fear of the cartels myself but I'd like to see what they would do if our military boys were down there. For the life of me I can't see why we keep babying Mexico and let them get away with what they want.

It's pretty sad that the only place I saw this story was on fox news. I generally watch as much news as I can and on many networks and I just didn't see it anywhere. It's entirely possible that I just missed it but this should be bigger news than it is. This was probably caused by the drug cartels and our nation needs to know that the problems in Mexico are spilling into our country. We need to boycott Mexico.

It appears as though the "appointed" one wants to tackle illegal immigration next. I'm curious as to what he has to say about this tragedy. I think we need to patrol the border with M1A1 tanks and A-10 warthogs. That should give them the needed impression to stay away along with a shoot to kill order. :gunsmilie:

I agree that it would be nice to go back to the basics of what our country was founded on but I fear that we have strayed too far from those values to go back. We've become an entitlement nation. And while I don't think we will ever be as socialist as Europe, we will be a lot closer to it than I sure want to see. I just read this weekend that John Deere, AT&T, and Cat are all being subpoenaed by Congress because of what they had said regarding Obamacare. This just irks me to no end. I hope they stand up to them and tell them nothing. Seems to me like they were speaking the truth.

That's funny you guys are talking about GOP candidates that can win the election against Obama as i've been thinking about this for a few weeks. I think Romney is too far to the middle and Palin won't stand a chance. I heard ol' Newt is on the fence about running and he might be able to win. Other than that, I can't think of anyone right now. Might have to just vote for Ron Paul!

Come to think of it I never have noticed it as I go right for the burger. But I'm betting going forward I will notice the cheesy goodness.
