    This is unreal

Incredible accomplishment! Man that picture.... I guess she can really "chew the fat" (at least the fat in the left eye). Did I go too far?
  3. 10 point: low 140's gross. 8 point: 120 gross at 3.5 years.
  4. Hope you connect with him on the opener!
  5. Congratulations!:clap::rockon:
  6. Great job Cole! That's a fine looking first deer right there!
  7. My wife went turkey hunting with me a couple times, but hasn't went the past couple years and I don't ask anymore. She's not really into it so I see no need of pressing the issue. My 8 year old daughter and 7 year old son like it. My daughter will be deer hunting in a few weeks during the IL youth season! Me and the wife always have fly fishing!
  8. WTG Randy! No big buck yet this year? You're slipping.

    A nine in 2009

Congratulations! Glad you made it in time!
  10. I'll bet you'll find him tomorrow! Best of luck to you! Sounds like he was hunting you! Buckee bait... (none for me thanks). When you find him make sure you don't cut your head off in the picture.:clown: Even if you don't find him, your effort is to be commended.
  11. If this guy is a friend I'd inform him that he could get the same thing cheaper, but if he still wants it I'd sell and upgrade.
  12. Back in the early 80's seeing any deer in IL. was an exciting thing for most folks. A deer was something you didn't see every day. Now we see deer just about every day and although I still get excited, no one else does. I must say though seeing a big buck with huge antlers still gets everyone excited. Why, because it is rare just like seeing "any" type of deer was years ago. We humans tend to get more excited over things that are rare.
  13. He has been in some movies that have had an influence on me. I'll never forget the deer hunt from Red Dawn! Rest in peace Patrick
  14. Glad I'm not a polar bear, moose, goat, deer, ox, or wolverine!:clown::clown:
  15. Already started huh! Oh how I envy you! I'm going out tomorrow to hang a stand. I'm taking it easy on my best spots until November. It's hard to do, but hopefully will pay off. October 10 and 11 is our youth season. I didn't think to enter my daughter, she's 8 and this will be her first time deer hunting.
  16. Can't speak to the Kodiak but I do have a Genesis. It is camo and stainless. I bought it new from Cabela's last December new for 199.00. I've practiced out to 70 yards with it (the max of the range I use: my dads yard). I have a Leupold Ultimate Slam on it and it is very accurate. It's the only ML I've ever owned so I have nothing to compare it to, but I have no desire to buy anything else.
  17. Think William is right on. Unless he has some broken tines he gets an arrow from me. Never know when a car might take him out.
  18. So when does everyone start deer hunting? In IL. we go from October 1st till mid-January. I'm trying out a new area this year. Public ground about an hour away. I'll be using a small boat to get to the hunting locations. First time I've ever used a boat to deer hunt.
  19. Congratulations! Great buck! Although I feel for ya. Glad we can get 2 bucks in IL. because I'd be hurting if it was over so early in the season.
  20. Depends, If the snow is only an inch or two and no ice underneath I'd take snow. Ice scraping is the worst backbreaking job around. Grass cutting used to be fun, but with dogs it means cleaning the yard prior to cutting and on occasion I miss some that the mover makes a mess of. Once I get a big enough yard to justify a riding mower grass cutting will win.
  21. Nice mount! Glad you were able to find the broken tine.
  22. What he said! I've used the copper solids for many years now and switched this season to my smooth bore 20 guage that shoots rifled slugs. I didn't mind the punch to the arm, but can't take the punch to the wallet any more! At 15 dollars + for a box of 5 it takes me 30 dollars to sight it in and practice. Then another 45 for hunting. I'd sight it in with the type of shell you'll be hunting with.
  23. Try saving the attachment to your computer and then try to upload it. You may want to try saving it as .gif or .bmp file instead of a .jpeg.
