i heard that the original x-force had lots of hand shock and was inconsistent. However one of the pro shop guys had the TS and loved it.

Well I saved up for the bow I really wanted (based on advice from some of you guys in the "Anyone shot the Bear Truth 2 Ultra Light" thread) and I had the high bid on ebay going into the last couple of minutes and got outbid by 1 freaking dollar. Needless to say, I'm a little down about it. It was the right draw length (wouldn't have to buy any modules) and had a peep sight and a drop away rest already on it for a great price.

that is one sweet looking rig!!!

super cool, i agree about having a pic of the deer making it that much cooler and it's not even a game camera pic. Congrats!

well it didn't go very well. Went out scouting friday, couldn't get any birds to gobble with my crow call or anything else. Overslept Saturday, but went out later in the day and walked the ridges. Then on Easter Sunday, it rained and rained and rained some more so didn't make it out there. Oh well.

there are a lot of good "bang for your buck" bows. Look at the Martin Saber ($275 on ebay), or the PSE stinger ($300) or the Mission bow mentioned above. All shoot at above average speeds and will do whatever you need them to in the field. As far as accessories, I have a limbsaver s-coil stabilizer ($20), a whisker biscuit ($50, but I am thinking of switching to drop away or hostage), a truball release ($50, but there are several for $25 or so that would be fine), and a couple of arrows with blazer vanes about 60 bucks/dozen. Of course, as with everything, you can spend as much as you want. But look for one of the bows I mentioned with a ready to shoot package and it will have sight, rest, wrist sling, stabilizer, quiver, etc.

don't vote but seriously, be careful what you write about it. They are really picky about things like that. Good luck!

my question is this and it may not be a popular one, but if you are only 18 now, how in the world and why in the world would you ever start? I mean people from my parents generation and further back have an excuse. It was glamorous and marketed and the norm (from movie stars, to billboards, magazines, etc.), but now it is frowned upon by society, prices have sky-rocketed, you can't put the ads anywhere, you can't smoke in most restaurants, we now know what cigarettes can do to a human body and yet somehow you decided this was a good choice? Also, noone that I have ever talked to that smoked liked it when they first started. If you watch a new smoker, they cough, spit, and look very uncomfortable, so you trained yourself to like them and if you can do that you can train yourself to quit. Find something worth spending money on

there is a monopod attachment called a steady eddy or something like that. It would be great for what you are looking for. SteadyEddy® telescoping aluminum monopod

yeah but at that point he was coming in because there was corn in that feeder for the deer. Not legal to bait turkeys here though, so the feeders have been empty since Feb. and since then the turkeys haven't passed by that camera.

about 2 months ago, we took in our Remington 742 semi auto because it won't extract the shell after a shot. It is a very common problem with this gun. Well the guy was confident he could fix it. Looked over it, ordered a new extractor, did the polishing, put it in and it's fixed......sort of. Seems the barrel is pitted (often the case) and the shell is expanding into these pits when it is shot and the extractore isn't going to pull it out. So it happens less now, but is still not fixed. I have heard if you put gun oil in the barrel, it will fill the voids left by the pitting, but i don't know. Most people say just leave it in the safe and carry one of your other rifles, but that rifle is my fav. one in the world. I love it to death and want it to be fixed. The guy that did the work said he could order another barrel but because there are no new barrels for them, he could not gurantee any of them. Any advice?
