Has anyone else seen how much more popular crossbows are getting? I know not that many people in MO own one but I have my dads old one from when we lived in AR. I see a commercial every 5 minutes on Outdoors Channel and every other hunting channel on TV. Also, these things are getting tiny! These things are only like a foot wide! Mine is more like three feet and has iron sights. I let my great-uncle borrow it last year and he called me a week later and said nevermind he would just go buy a new one lol

Were finally allowed to use crossbows in MO now. They turned muzzleloader season into alternative season so we can use em in december.

I know the 20-gauge would have less of a kick to it. I've never used a slug gun before but they look sweet. I remember killing my first deer with a smooth barrel .410 and a slug. Took me three shots lol. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it.

How's everbody doing? I went out a couple of times since sunday, no seeing anything. Got a new nine point on camera though! All the deer on camera are coming out at about midnight through six in the morning, so still nocturnal. Can't wait to catch one of those suckers during daylight! How's it going for everyone else?

Didnt they used to All of the schools around here do except the school I went to. They usually get the first day of gun season off. I think one school actually got the first week off believe it or not.

Team 8 Checking in, my names Austin. Season opens this Sunday, temp is dropping down to a high 75 and low of 55 in the morning. You know where I'll be! Team Jagermeister sounds good, so does red shaft.

Just got back from checking the cameras, had some good pictures. Had plenty of does and fawns along with a good sized 1.5 year old 4 point who kept coming back. One night he showed up at 2 am and stayed around till 6 am. Had a good looking 6 or 8 point, couldn't really tell for sure, show up at 6:30 am. Season opens this sunday. New Hunting Show YES! I hate when the music plays when the deer walk up. I love hearing the deer walk up through the leaves. Nothing gets me more pumped than hearing that.

2 weeks ago I was getting half-dollar sized groupings at 30 yards and the past two days I can't hardly get softball sized groupings at 20. The worst part is I was supposed to do a 3-d tournament this Saturday but after today I decided to pull the plug. I don't know what it is but its making me sick. Anyone else having this problem?

Me and the ole lady went out to her grandpas place yesterday started seeing deer as soon as we pulled in. Now her grandpa isn't able to move like he used to so the fields are grown up. We were driving over the hill and I said to her I bet we see some over this hill, and what do you know, the whole dang herd is there! I counted 20 deer and 7 of them were shooters. I mean they were monsters for this part of Missouri! So I put out a couple of feeders and a camera and got outta dodge. Hopefully gonna get some pics posted next weekend. How everyone else's scouting going?

Archery Freakz That's a lot for an old man lol. I wonder what his poundage is? Mine is set on 70 lbs and I shot about 35 today.

Ok so I ran into this problem the last day of gun season last year and I know plenty of other people who have too. If your sitting in the stand and a doe walks out with two yearlings, which do you shoot? On one hand, you take the doe and the yearlings run off and try to survive until they get adopted or take a yearling. I guess I just over think some things lol

Tablet advice My little brothers had 2 off brand tablets and they weren't worth a dime. IMO in the tablet world you get what you pay for. I have an IPad mini and I love it. No complaints. Only downside is they are EXPENSIVE!!

Fitness and hunting. That insanity is crazy! I'm about to start up again cuz I stopped doing it a few months ago when I had to practice for an all star football game and haven't done it since.

Elk hunting in MO! As far as I know there will be NR permits but with a limited number permits it would be a very small chance of anyone in state or out of state to get drawn. Yeah we're lucky here in MO not to have many predators aside from the occasional mountain lion, and yeah that is expensive wolf food!
