  1. This is a BowTech Striker Crossbow that is shooting the 405 fps and I have no idea of what the gpi is on his bolts. Yep, my IBO is 330 and I'm shooting 287 with my hunting setup. mathews4life84-I'm sorry to hear about your misfortunes with the Rages, but this isn't a bashing thread for them. I've got my own opinions on them but this isn't the thread for that.
  2. I've got over three dozen of them and know plenty of people that still use them. they are a great shaft and if I ever switched, I'd go to the Maxima Hunters.
  3. I will be going this Saturday with the smoke pole. It'll be my sons (Hammer) hands though, hoping he can kill his first deer. I'm getting pumped about heading up to Ohio and get a week of deer hunting again.
  4. 340? Has that been chrono'd? I thought that was IBO rating on that bow. Anyway, not to change your topic, the Rage is rated at not opening at over 400 fps and got this info from the manufacturer. Buddy of mine shoots a crossbow at 405 and yes it's been chrono'd. LOL Blades do not open.
  5. Been there and doen that Kyle. Deer hunting is one of the most humbling sports there is and especially bowhunting. However, I have to say I love Ohio and have great luck up there. I've taken 3 bucks over 110" with one of the being over 130". I've pasted more bucks up in Ohio the first 5 years I hunted than my whole hunting life prior. Just hang in there and it'll happen up there, they are out there.
  6. Her Dad hasn't let her on there yet.
  7. I did opening week on a Doe and didn't get good result. these heads are awesome for their holes but not so great on busting a shoulder bone. I'd got that Doe if I'd hit her with a Muzzy in the exact same spot. I nev er recovered the arrow because it was still stuck in the shoulder and watched dangling as she ran off. I'm shooting 67# draw so I've got plenty of energy and I shot this Doe at 10 yards, I've taken this shot on several other deer with my Muzzy's and got pass throughs and a recovered deer. On the quatering away shots, I killed a Doe quartering away from me and had her fall within 60 yards after the shot. These are awesome heads, just not great for busting big bone.
  8. Chestnut Oaks were falling like rain drops last week and deer were all over them. The white oaks, squirrels wer cutting them like crazy but deer weren't on them yet.
  9. Hmmmmm, sounds like an interesting time you had there.:chair:
  10. My doe looks like a dink, but she was actually 82#! LOL I wish I'd taken a picture of me with my second doe, she weighed 128#. Anyway, we are off to a good start, but a lot of the seasons are just now starting to open.
  11. Good luck guys, can't wait till my turn up there in November. You all be safe!
  12. 61# on my tournament bow and 67# on my hunting bows. Highest I've had, was a Pearson Striker on 82#.
  13. That's awesome, it sure looks like you guys had a great opening day! Congrats!
  14. Opening day Doe in NC. Shot her at 9 yards. Killed two more, one on Monday the 14th and Tuesday the 15th.
  15. Doe Entry for Team #11 "Vital Hits" Straight Shooter Team #11 "Vital Hits" Mt date on the doe picture is a day off, so NC folks don't freak out. I know opening day was the 12th and that is when I harvested this doe.
  16. I doubt I will go hunting until November again. I will get my 5 points posted tomorrow for us. Good luck to you guys and be safe out there.
  17. You need to go through Photo Post and upload your photo into there, then copy and paste the link into a thread you start or a post you making.
  18. I'm pretty sure my buddy is still a dealer for these, let me check and I'll let you know. He loves hunting with his.
  19. Okay, no lying boys.:hammer1: LOL I was able to bust 3 Doe's last week here in NC. Good luck to you guys when it opens for you.
  20. Hi guys............well I'm back and was only able to scrap up 5 points for us. I scored on three Doe's and no bucks. It was a great week and seen lots of deer, let a bunch of small 6's and under walk. I did get to full draw on a wantabe 10 point but he bolted as soon as a I tried stopping him at 19 yards. I saw a 140 class 8 point with a 120's 8 taggin behind him, well within bow range but no shot oppertunity. I've still got Ohio this coming November to get a big buck. Good luck to you guys and I will get my photos posted in the entry thread tomorrow or soon after.
  21. Atta Boy! Congrats Bret and best of luck on the buck!
