  1. Once again, 2nd yellow from the bottom and he's on the back of the four wheeler.
  2. I'm all over this and airing his lungs out at 42 yards. I'd take that shot anyday of the season. Busting the 2nd yellow from the bottom. That would be another Muzzy Moment!
  3. I am so glad to hear that he is okay, he could have had damaged tissue resulting in bad scaring for life or worse. This is a tid-bit I found on bites by rattlesnakes, he is very lucky to be in the 25% percentile. 25% of adult rattlesnake bites are dry, with no venom injected. (Brown, 1997)
  4. I have about six different places I get my stuff from it all depends on who gots the best prices at the going time. Lancaster Archery, Archery Warehouse, Bass Pro, Cabela's, Timberline, and I can remember the other right now.
  5. Ditto! My wedding anniversary, kids birthdays and all aren't during bow season. My wife planned that because she actually wanted me there on our wedding anniversary and the kids birthdays! LOL
  6. There are several types of tubeless peeps on the market-Tru-peep, the G5 meta peep, and several other. They can be a pain in the rump to get them to align with every shot, but it can be done. I personally shoot the Tru-peep in all my bows and have all three to were I don't have to worry about their rotation on the shot. You will need a bow press handy when you get one of these types of peeps becuase it will require putting the bow into the press several times to get it right. That's the pain in the rump!
  7. Might have to make the Greensboro trip and see the guys in person.
  8. Thought I was the only one who skinned deer this way. Wroks great, fast, and easy. don't have to fool with guts at all.
  9. With a name like Hunter, he has to be a great kid and it sounds like it. Congratulations to you and him, Can't wait to see the Carnegie Hall performance.
  10. 42, Had it and couldn't stand all the survey's and e-mails from every Joe-Bob out there I went to school with. Invite to this, Invite to that, sorry I just don't have the time to do that sort of thing.
  11. I've got two moultrie IR-4.0's and love them. A big advantage you have over a flash is video at night, a flash is a flash and doesn't stay on during a video. The IR stays lite to record video at night and does great. It also gives a good representation of how the deer react to a low IR light, they don't like it to much and makes them very nervous. So, it leads me to believe a bright flash would make them comeout of their skins. Battery life is a lot longer with LED IR and takes great photos as well.
  12. That is awesome, especially the Super Black Hawk distance. I've to try that with mine now. I wish it would have been closer, I'd loved to had made to the Spring Fling.
  13. Try doing that at 265 yards, Chris? LOL Buddy of mine is shooting a CZ bolt action 22 at 265 yards and hitting CONSISTANTLY ON VIDEO a 4", 6", and 8" steal plate with the American Eagle brand. They work well in a 10/22 as well. As far as which grain to use for small game. Like the others said, I don't think the game will now the difference. Pick out what shoots best out of your rifle.
  14. I tried both the Smith and Ruger Super Blackhawk in the 7 to 7 1/2 inch range. Personally I like the Ruger and the 44 mag round, there is nothing in North America it will not take down. I don't see any need for a double action on a large magnum pistol, just to much power to control. The new model in Ruger Super Black Hawk Hunter has the machined scope mounts and comes with the scope mounts standard. I will take a 50 yard shot with my SBH and iron sights. Bottomline, if I had to choose between the two, it would be the Ruger Super Red Hawk since your wanting the double action revolver.
  15. Definately be in my prayers, thank you for the update about him.
  16. Kyle is right about the pins and if it helps you, use a .029 pin on your 20 yard pin for hunting and the rest .019. the further away your target is the larger the pin seems and covers more of it up. Personally I use the same as Kyle in a .019 pin for both my tourney and hunting bow set-ups.
  17. My bad, you are right there is a big difference between old enough and mature enough.
  18. I killed my first deer with a Pearson as well, it was the Striker. Pearson kind of feel to the way side in the bow market after the mid 90's but has come back pretty strong in the last few years. I think the bows they've come out with in the last couple of years are worth taking a look at.
  19. Hammer got his first BB gun at 5, it was the daisy Buckshot lever action and great fun to shoot. It's the one the BB's are loaded into the muzzle end of the barrel. He has upgraded to a 1100 fps pellet rifle now along with his muzzleloaader, .410 shotgun, and 22 rifle. Personally, I don't think 5 is not to young for a BB gun if he is totally supervised which I'm sure he will be. The spring recoil let's him get the feel for a gun and shooting cans or targets let's him see what damage a gun can do. JMO
  20. LOL, yes John that is it. All of you keep up the great shooting.
  21. Not necessarily faster but more accurate. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to loosen the knot on the D-loop then you can slide in down into the correct position. Be sure and tighten it back up before shooting again.
  22. I hate to bust your bubble but that isn't a robinhood, like Tom said. It's a good busted knock shot, a robinhood is a shaft stuck completely within the other shaft. Fine shooting none the less, keep it up. A good tip to save on moeny is shoot at single dots at 10, 20, and 30 yards, then try to stack them in a 40 and 50 yards.
  23. You need to put some "SERVING" above your peep if it is moving up when you draw or shoot, wrap it around the string about a half an inch to three quarters of inch above the sight. You should never have to keep moving your peep back down before every shot. You can even use some waxed dental floss in a pinch, until you can get to a pro shop to have it done right. FIX your nocking point, it is terribly high. This is why your sight is so low. You bring your arrow point back up by moving the nock end down and your sight will come back up as well. It's just a few adjustments to do but if you get these done and settled in. Your bow will be shooting fine again and probably much more consistant.
  24. I never bought into the gimmick of the scent lok, I killed deer before it was put on to the market and still killing deer without it years after its been on the market. IF the wind is wrong it doesn't matter what you have on, YOUR BUSTED!
