  1. All right, so what I am gathering here is that the over all length of the cartridge isn't affected by the bullet style. Let's say a speer soft point bullet compared to a more pointed bullet like the hornady bullet. I'm down with that but why is there different recommended lengths listed on the WWW. that indicate different settings for each bullet? Sorry guys, I'm just aggrivated over this reloading with my 22 Hornet. I am having problems with it crushing the neck of my cases when I try to seat and crimp the bullets. Now my nickel cases are flaking off around the rim of the neck and causing burrs. Aaahhh! Should I get a beller for this and slightly expand the neck so this doesn't happen. I don't seem to have this problem when I do this for my 44 brass when I bell the neck out some, not much just enough to get the bullet started. So, the head space is really the shoulder seating into the chamber of the rifle, when I try to push an unfired case in there. This is actually the resistance I am getting not the bullet hitting the beginning of the rifling if my length is set right? I've heard these are a pain in the butt to reload and I am beginning to believe that. I am about tot he point of just selling all this 22 Hornet stuff and buy the factory loads.

  3. Fleece works great and I hunt with it as well. Cabela's marino wool is a great choice as well.
  4. Don't know about that one, my ROSS's are 7" brace height compared to my CSS Challenger with a 6 1/4" BH. ROSS's are shooting faster with heavier arrow with only two more pounds of draw weight.
  5. Straight Shooter

    Wow! I just

What color was this snake that needed shot in half? sounds like a black snake to me if it was still that long with 3 feet gone from it.
  6. Change? What do we need changed, I AIN'T SKEERED! Nobody in here my boss but Scott.
  7. Longer brace height=requires a good follow through but isn't as critical as the shorter brace height since the knock/arrow isn't on the string as long during the release. Short brace height=requires a longer follow through because the knock/arrow stays on the string longer during the release. My last bow before I got these ROSS's was CSS Chalenger with a 6 1/4" brace height, this bow was very critical to shoot but was deadly accurate and smooth shooting. I had no problem hitting my arm or clothing.
  8. This is what I've got Hammer shooting now, I started him out with a Cobra Youth when he was 8 years old. He shot fingers with his earlier bows that had very light pounded, higher poundage bows and more aggressive cams will make his fingers sore from shooting and might make him not want to shoot.
  9. Ken....You will be pleasantly surpirsed with that bow. I've set up two of them and thought of getting one for my son (Hammer). It is a smoking little bow and shoot greats, he will love it.
  10. I do, and I might change my name too "DaddyKat":D:D
  11. My buddy uses that tape on his feathers and loves it. Quick and easy!
  12. Happy Birthday Brother!
  13. Shafts vary on cost since everyone uses different arrows and inserts usually come with them. Vanes vary as well. Knocks are the same way. My shafts Goldtips cost 72.00 Easton knocks are 3.50 Blazer vanes 14.00 Glue 5.00 Total 94.50/12 = 7.86 per shaft You can genreally add 2.50 per shaft for them to be fletched at Pro shop or manufacturer. 72.00 + 30.00 = 102.00 = 8.50 Fletched mine for year and will never have anyone do mine again.
  14. I agree totally, One Shot One Kill! sounds like you might need a little bit of tuning with those Stingers, those heads generally fly very close to fieldtips. I've shot those and my nieghbor hunts with them as well. Of course the Rage head is great as well.
  15. That is a big thumbs up, Hutch! Congrats!
  16. Keep practicing Dakota, you will be amazed at how much conifdence you'll have entering the woods this coming season. I'm glad to hear that your enjoying shooting that much and I'm there with you on practicing more as well as doing more tournaments. Keep shooting buddy!
