  5. Hey, don't you know that soap and wash cloth will clean that dirt off your chin!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
  6. I didn't want to bring that up either, but just because it is shaped like a gun doesn't mean it shoots like one. I've out shot several X-bow shooters with my compound bows.
  7. Ruttin...........I think Chris was just stating that it doesn't hurt the deer hunting any and it is a great way to get more hunters into the woods. We are actually hurting for more hunters so implimenting this would be great for the sport of hunting. I am an avid bowhunter and myself choose not to hunt with a crossbow but that doesn't mean I don't want more people to not take up hunting. It's all in our choice, so please don't take any of this so personal and turn this into a big debate.
  8. I stand corrected, I should get my bow out and look at before I post. It's been over a year since I adjust any of mine, but ultratec1 is right with his statements; I was having a brain lapse on the adjustments. Good advice, Ultratec and thanks for correcting my false information.
  9. I was finally able to get out and do a 3-D shoot this wekend and loved every minute of it. A little history, I had shoulder and elbow surgery last year so that knocked me out of doing any shoots and only shot 3 the year before, since I had surgery on my other shoulder. Now that both are getting back to normal and I finally made it to a shoot. Man was it great to be back on the range, I wasn't expecting to much on the scoring end but my goal was to not miss any targets today. I ended up with 3 nickels and only two 12's with a final score of 225 on a 25 target course. I had a couple of targets jerk my draws down:eek: on estimating but felt good all around. I have another tournament next week, so I hoping for some more improvment and getting back to shooting at the top agian locally in NC and SC. Good luck to you all and shoot strong.
  10. Twisting the Cable will have little to no affect on your cam, timing, peep turn, and impact. All of these are affected by the string, if you twist the string, this makes it shorter, therefor rolling the cam over more forward in the undrawn position. Just make sure they check for cam lean and twist the yoke to get that right. If you want to check for cam lean and they don't know how to do it. Place an arrow against the top wheel or cam and just rotate the arrow down towards the string, it should align perfectly with the string. If the arrow angles over the string or away from the string you've got cam lean.
  11. Congrats! Great shot and I wish I was still hunting.
  12. I wonder if I can send someone in Wisconsin something so I can get so syrup from there and do an offiicial taste test!:D:D:D:D:D
  13. I look forward to the day I can execute someone in there, until then, keep slamming the ax down, Doc.
  14. Some of you might not know or remember about the post, but it was one in the bowhunting forum pertaining to nocks about two weeks ago. I made mention I had some and I'd be willing to give them away if anyone wanted them. VermontHunter (Luke) pm'ed me and wanted them, so I shipped him about 40 nocks of assorted colors, no big deal, I was just glad someone could use them. I wanted nothing in return, but low and behold I have a package hanging on my mailbox yesterday. I will be eating some Maple Syrup from Vermont tomorrow morning on my pancakes! You folks rock in here and that is why I've always loved this forum, being a Supervisor, I am always saying that my people are the ones who make me look good. Same goes for these forums!:D
  15. That is a slow night, I've never heard of a trap in that fashion. Sounds fun to watch, but I'd have to add something extra to it, like a slingshot as they walked the wire.:D
  16. Aaaahh! the pine wood derby, I'm going to miss all that now with my son now his is in Boy Scouts. I let my son do a lot of the work on his car and choose his design he wanted. I used the sharp tools and saws to form the car but he got to finish the car. We came in first place in the den and 4th in the pack the first year and we don't want to talk about the next year. LOL Good luck to you and your son!
  17. Bear Whitetail youth (the bow is 20 years old) Draw weight is 20 pounds Draw length is 22 Arrow length is 20" Goldtip Hunter XT with 85 gr. tip Arrow speed is 190-200 fps
  18. 3" is a lot to take off and will add alot to your spine stiffness. think of taking a pencil and bending it, break 3" off that pencil then try and bend that pencil again. Apply the same principal to the arrows you just got with greater magnitude. Cutting 1/2" off a shaft will affect the whole set up quit a bit. Sounds like to me though, that if you can shoot a 3" shorter arrow and only slide the WB back, you might have been shooting a too long of arrow in the first place. How much shaft is hanging over the WB at full draw, if you've got about 1/2" to 3/4" you might be better off now.
  19. Blue loc-tite should fix your problem. It's a glue but breaks free when you need it too. Other than that, I 'd call Parker and let customer service know what the problem is.
  20. I'm sorry for your loss, I am definately getting a helmet this year for my noggin.
  21. I have definately got to make a shot show! Especially to make sure strange women down make it into the photo's.:D:D:D
  22. Very young buck, I'd guess he's a 1 1/2 year old. He has still got the very short head and baby look, undeveloped chest, if not 1 1/2 he no more than 2 1/2. Doe's are of all ages looks like to me.
  23. Like its been stated before, it's all in preference of the shooter and I agree most places will not let you open the package up before purchasing one. Personally I use Scott Release and own two of the Lil' Bitty Gooses to hunt and shoot 3-D with. I like the velcro strap since buckle straps have atendancy to stretch a bit and will move your anchor point, with the buckle straps having only holes every so often you can't make an adjustment to them unless you've got a release head like the Mongoose heads Scott releases having and the lil' bitty goose has got a cord to adjust for this. just my opinions, though:D
