  1. Nice buck, but I don't see him being bigger than 110", he's got good tine length but main beams only look about 18-19" long and spread is about 15". I'd have to see the tape if he's over 120.
  2. You gave it your all Ruth and that is great. I know it stinks to lose a deer but it sounds like she'll make it if she makes it through the winter. As for your fibers, there is a place in California that sells replacement fibers. When I can get he link I'll send to you.
  3. Holy Cow! What a way to come into the forums. Congrats and welcome!
  4. Congratulations to you and her, you two make a great couple! I wish you another 17 more together.
  5. Hang in there TG! Anyone who says they haven't made a bad shot, hasn't been bowhunting long. It happens to all us and don't beat yourself up over it. I have had a terrible season and after a few swift kicks in my hindquarters got myself back on track. You are doing right by following up on the deer this morning and let us know how it comes out. Good luck girl!
  6. That is one big dude! Congrats Kirk, awesome!
  7. Oh no! That is going to have us right up there with Ohio, Ill, Iowa for big deer and now everyon eis going to want to hunt here. J/K That is an awesome buck and I'm glad it's put us out there for a great buck eing killed. Just goes to show hunters are really helping the wildlife.
  8. Watch it weekly, I like the show and he's a great shot. Only problem I had was when he shot a black snake in his yard, personally I find that type of kill uncalled for.
  9. You shoot a short brace height, you'd better have a good follow through. I shot a 6 1/4" brace bows for the last 9 years, I didn't think I'd ever find a bow that as good as them and finally bit the bullet and upgraded this season to a Cardiac 07 with the 7 1/2" brace. Wow do they shoot good, I had to use the RT arm sleeve with my 6 1/2" brace height with heavy clothing, don't have to with my new bows. Shoot a shorter brace height and see if you like it.
  10. Yep! Don't feel bad TG, I average losing one a year since I use a hip quiver. I sometimes hang it around my neck when I'm on my 4-wheeler and of course a branch will knock one out. Just lost a brand new arrow this year in Ohio. I've lost them too with the quiver on my hip while walking through thick stuff. Funny, when I gun hunted I never lost any bullets! LOL
  11. Holy Cow! What a story and you really had me hook line and sinker till you woke up. LOL good one!
  12. Glad you like the presents Steve! Merry Christmas!
  13. A lot also depends on the type of material it is made out of, with the new materials strings are being made from they will last a lot longer. I had one of my last bows with a string that lasted 8 years on my hunting bow and changed my string on my tournament bow once just for giggles and that string had 1,000's of shots on it. Take care of them, inspect for nicks and freys and you'll be okay. However, the most critical part on the string is under the serving were you nock you arrow, this is the biggest pinch point and gets the most action. Most strings I've see break have broken there, have your serving changed at least once every two seasons just be sure about the strands under your serving.
  14. Thistle Hair the Christmas Bear by Alabama.
  15. That's a deal, if the parka was XL I'd take them.
  16. I thought there was, I just didn't feel like getting my Ohio regs book out. Thanks Tom, and some hunters wonder why more and more restrictions are put on us. It's morons like that that end up sending a slug through a house.
  17. Very nice buck, looks llike he'll go around the 115" to 120" mark. Congrats!
  18. If you hunt that close to houses, expect the obvious of dogs, cars, and loud children. Do not give me any hassle for going about life and your coming this close to my house. Besides, isn't there a law on the distance you can hunt from a right of way and close to a dwelling? Personally I don't blame you for leaving the dog outside after what they did. I at least show residential area some respect and give their deserved distance especially with a firearm.
  19. I can remember the day he quit hunting after he had shot a squirrel and felt bad about it. We had hunted for years together and something about that squirrel that day ended it for him. I still hunt hard and he hasn't picked a weapon back up since and that was over 20 years ago and we are still friends.
  20. I saw that a couple of months ago, its pretty dang cool to get one that close. If he had been shooting a Muzzy broadhead, she would have fell over dead just from touching it. LOL
  21. Only way I know of is to use another cape on it. He might be able to if he's world class in taxidermy.
