  1. Awesome pictures and I hope to make it to a SHOT Show one day. Haley Heath-who is she married too?
  2. Gotta love those trail-cams. I just started using them this past season and just love all the pictures of anything that walks by. We even got pictures of bears onthe property that the game warden didn't even know were in the area. Here is agroup of bachlor bucks just before the season opened, both of these pictures are 12 yards from my stand. Got tons of raccoons and even a coyote or two. This is a picture from another stand location. I like the fawns reaction to the raccoon and the Doe could care less. LOL
  3. I feel your pain as this was my most frustrating season since I started bowhunting 16 years ago. If I didn't know any better I'd say that was me starting this thread. One of my low points was having a 140+ 9 point at 10 yards being at full draw and needing this brute to take a step two feet either way and he's mine. Doesn't happen, he hits a licking branch, looks straight at me then there's a stand off or eyeballing eachother. He wins, blows at me and take off. That is just one instance so I'm with you on your pain. Just hang in there and do as I have by learning from our mistakes, misfortunes, and mishaps; using them to your advantage in the coming seasons.
  4. Surefire.........It's not cheap but great for all purposes.
  5. Rhinehart or Glen Dale Full Rut buck. both are great target and last very well.
  6. BTW, my GT nocks have been spoken for in case someone else was interested.
  7. I use Easton nocks in my GT shaft, if anyone wants some G nocks I have about five different colors I'd be willing to give them. I like using the Easton nocks better since thet get a better bit on the string. There are so many styles of kncoks on the market now, there is no reason why anyone should have to shoot the manufacturers nocks that come with the arrow unless they want too. If it has the same diameter as the inside of the arrow then the nock will work.
  8. It was, then reversed again.
  9. Still waiting on snow here, you could send some our way, if you like.
  10. I am absolutely ashamed of the panthers on the way they attempted to play. You are the only undefeated team at home and you don't even show up for your home play-off game.
  11. I'll check it out, thanks
  12. Some robinhoods are accidents but some aren't. If an arrow is robinhooded down in the belly (5 Zone area) of a 3-D target, then yes it is an accident. I have busted so many knocks off of arrows that are in the 10 and 12 rings on 3-D targets it's pittiful and those are ny no means an accident. If there is a bright and shiney knock to aim at, I'm going for it. Something with shooting spots, if you hit a robinhood outside of the scoring rings, you didn't do it on purpose. If you are stacking them in there like cord-wood your chances are better to get a robinhood. I watched a guy shooting indoors a fews year back, he shot 3 robinhoods in just two rounds of shooting, two of which were done in the first round.
  13. All of them, but if I had to pick it'll be bowhunting.
  14. I personall use the WB and would recommend it in a heart beat to any bowhunter. I would suggest doing a search on the WB and Drop Away rest topic and get a bit of history on the Pro's and con's of each rest. Both rest have been used by alot of hunters and some of them have switched back to the other they had been using.
  15. I think a big difference was the 15.00 doe tag. Hunters being able to buy those tags after the first 24.00 was bought, letting them hand on to their buck tag longer and shooting more doe's. Even buying the 3 tags at 15.00 a hunter still came out better than buying the remaining two 24.00 dollar tags. I think ODNR should have made the hunters buy all three 24.00 tags first and then be permitted to by the 15.00 tags. JMO
  16. Nothing, when it's cold enough to wear them I use my hand muff with some hand warmers in it. I want to be able to feel my bow grip and trigger at all times when I ready to send and arrow through one. A deer has never seen my hands before I shot one, haven't smelled them either. I've hunted single digit weather and never had a problem with my hands being cold.
  17. Started last week on the last four days of our season here in NC. It's very beneficial to scout with all the leaves off the trees. You can get a totally new perspective of the lay of the land. I figured out this past week I was hunting the area I was in, all wrong. I will not be making that mistake agian this season.
  18. Yes, it's better to have it and not it, then need and not have it. Layers, Layers, Layers, in cold weather I generally dress in as many as four layers so I can add or take off as I'm getting warm or cold. If you don't want to wear gloves when shooting, I recommend a hand muff. I love this addition to my hunting attire and it eliminate's any chance of me torque my bow because of not being able to feel my grip due to a thick pair of gloves. Another small necessity or two is the beannie and neck gator in fleece, this combination will help keep ou warm beyond belief. You can get all the best clothes in the world but not paying attention to the smaller appearal will not keep you totally warm.
  19. Randy Otiker has got a heck of deal on a ROSS Cardiac for 300.00, I've got three of these bows and they some kind of smooth as well as great shooting. For that price he is giving it away, I'd very seriously look at that one. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80376&page=4
