  1. Too funny! Those Elite's sure do look sweet, how is the draw on them? Is it a hard break over?
  2. Mathews has got the Monster coming out in a couple of weeks, ROSS has got the Carnivore out and both of the these bows are dual cam, that's right! Dual cam and fast as a greased cat, I can say that the ROSS is dead solid in your hand after the shot.
  3. Congratulations guys! That is awesome, that'll bump us up the scale a little bit.
  4. G-2's are 10 1/2" high. Awesome buck, congrats!
  5. I have four pairs of Lacrosse Alpha Burly Sports, two of which are unisulted, one in 1,000 gram, and one in 1,500 gram. I love them and will hunt out of nothing else. You can't do a whole bunch of walking in them since they don't breathe like leather, but I'm not saying just walk a couple of hundred yards or less; don't go on an all day hike in them or a long tacking job because they do get hot and make your feet sweat. This can be taken care of by purchasing a boot dryer.
  6. That is exactly what I love about bowhunting! I remember the first deer I ever drew or tried to draw back on, I COULDN"T! I thought I was going to fall out of the tree and I honestly can't tell you what changed but I still get so dang excited or jacked up as you put it. It i something you will have to resolve your nerves yourself by figuring out some type of self desapline when the moment of truth comes.
  7. Awesome buck and congratulations! I'm guessing he'll come in around the mid 130's, definately should make P&Y even with deductions.
  8. I can honestly say I watch my arrow hit the animal I am shooting at, and if I do not see it; then I have made a bad shot. That is the primary reason I shoot white fletchings and nocks so I can see my arrow in flight.
  9. Here is one angle of mine, I'll get more up later. I've got all I caught or killed in this room and on the walls or shelves. My wife has nothing down here I even have my own closest with my clothes. My 52" TV with video games and all!
  10. You must been watching the same show I was last night and I wondered the same thing about a Mathews Pro staffer celebrating a spine shot. He didn't even mention he hit the deet high and that it wasn't an intentional shot to hit him there. I have taken several spine shots but they are directly below me and is an intentional shot. I feel your frustration.
  11. Awesome! That is great first bow buck! Congratulations!
  12. No doubt and I was buying the rope!!!!:D:D:D:D Spikekiller-my gut was sickening thinking you had went over to the darkside!
  13. Until its formerly changed it'll be Spikekiller of the Scrubmasters, not Spikehugger of the Treehuggers.
  14. Not Walmart but Bass Pro :DJust a couple of sales here at Walmart, but I found a heck of a clearance sale at Bass Pro Shops. They have Copper John Dead Nuts 3 pin camo for 27.99, black 3 pin for 25.99, and 5 pin camo for 29.99. I couldn't resist that sale so I bought two of the 3 pin sets for back ups. I shot these sights for years now and have never found them to be under 60.00.
  15. Hey folks...........just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I'm going to try and get back out here in NC the last two weeks of December. I'm hoping to go get that big buck I drew back on earlier in the season and hopefully get a couple of more points for us. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
  16. I figured ther would be a Martin shooter out there that would better info than I could give one this one. I'd still have the bow checked out like he said at a pro shop. Be sure to have the axle's, cam play, and spacers looked at well.
  17. Personally I think they get the egg shape look from the pressurre of the shot and not the wear. Especially with higher poundage bows putting more pressure on them. If there was that much wear on them, I think we'd be getting some kind of build up on the cable slide bar.
  18. I'm hoping the cams have slots in them for you to reduce the draw length, because an 18 year old bow with probably be very hard to find a new set of cams or wheels to shorten it. I'd first have the limbs checked out for cracks to splits in them, just for safety's sake. Your string, you will probably need to have custom made for the length and you can go with a winner choice, crackerized, or zebra. Peeps you might want to go with a peep that is assisted with alognment by tubing. These are easy to install and are reliable for consistant location on turning in the right position at full draw. Broadheads, I'm very partial to Muzzy's so I will have to recomment them and I would go with the 75 grain head, I've used them for the last 5 years with great success. Good luck to you and I would first try to contact Martin archery to see if they can help you out on shortening the draw length.
  19. First off, sorry about no replies. It is the holidays and most of us have been out of town. One thing stands out with your delima on vane clearnace and that is you using blazers, they are higher profile and will be closer to your cables as they are with mine. As for the cable slide, to be honest I have never replaced one unless it broke, the last bow I had was nine years old and still had the original on it. Teflon slides do wear a bit but not enough to be noticed especially since most bow manufaturers have gone to the graphite slide rods.
  20. No it will not rival the moron thread, he had to open a can of worms with his HO on IMO but MHO is he just needed to have some to WA. JMHO
  21. Heaviest Doe ever killed was taken in Wisonsin and weighed 405 lbs and the largest weighed buck was taken in Canada weighing over 500 lbs.
  22. The EZ Arm guard works great. I've used them since they came out and have no complaints at all.
  23. Well, I finally did it and connected with two deer in Ohio. I shot my 10 point on the first morning of our hunt at 8 yards and shot the doe on the 2nd evening of our hunt, I hit a branch and deflected the arrow hitting her through the liver. I let her stay until the next morning, then went and recovered her only 15 feet from where I saw her last after she ran off. The buck rough scored around 110" and weighed 185 lbs., the Doe weighed 145 lbs. It was was great week and seen some monster bucks chasing Doe's and all that fun stuff in our week up there.
