Well guys, I am about to give up on bowhunting. My season has to be one of the worst I've had in over 10 years. I had a small eight I let walk on Friday and two does that wouldn't present me a shot on the first morning and then that evening, I had dogs running all in the woods the last hour of evening. Saturday morning, I was full draw on a upper 130's to low 140's 9 point at 10 yards and couldn't get a shot on him, I had a maple tree branch in the way and I wasn't going to take an iffy shot on him. He came out to a scrape and brought his head to a licking branch and then we proceeded to look at each other eye to eye. I needed him to take two more steps and he was in the clear, he couldn't take much of me looking at him so he blew and bolted. that evening I had three Does come out and waited on one to get broadside, in the mean time a squirrel is raising cane, getting them more nervous than they all ready were from the wind blowing pretty hard. I released the arrow and all three of the dropped down to bolt, I hit the I was holding one high, got a pass through of nothing but meat. She wheeled and broke my arrow! I sure hope Ohio goes better than is has here in NC, I have had an opportunity at two book bucks and couldn't close the deal as well as not putting any meat on the ground. Sorry had to get on my soapbox for a bit, I'm just frustrated and not doing much for the team.
