Re: decoys? I used the Renzo buck and doe in Ohio last year. I'll give in to them for the ease of carrying them in the woods. But, for success with them, is another story. I had a doe on the second evening of my hunt, go absolutely nuts for over an hour. I never got a shot at her, she didn't come within 20 yards of the decoys. On the last day, I had only the doe out, since the bucks were in full rut. I had a 100+ inch 8 point stop dead in his tracks and start to head the other waywhen he saw her. Yes, I did pay attention to scent and cover scent on the decoy. I had left them outside for a couple of weeks prior to my hunt and they stayed outside the whole time up there.Your more than welcome to them, I'll won't use them again. I've got 2 doe's and 2 of the bucks, you can have them all for 50.00 and I'll pay shipping.

Re: First Rub of the Season! I found some awesome buck sign on the first weekend of bow season here in NC. Lots of rubs and beds in one area, then had to have back surgery. Maybe I'll have achance at him after my trip to Ohio.

Re: How many of you ?? I've had my rifle out for 4 hours in the last 3 years. Maybe a few more hours than that, over the last six years. I take my son out with it and a ML, when he's old enough to hunt with a bow. That'll probably be the end of rifle hunting for a good long while.

Re: 1st snow in Southeast Ohio I just hope it doesn't bring the rut on to soon. I'll be up there on the 5th and hunting until the 11th. I'll be hunting in Athens county. I'm just ready to get into the woods, this having back surgery during deer season is for the birds.

Re: What\'s your bow range? I practice out to 50 yards and wouldn't think twice about taking a shot that far, only if the conditions are right for that range. I have taken one deer at 40 yards, with no obstructions in the way. The deer only went about 35 yards and piled up.

Re: Squirrel kill w/ my Mathews Nice shot! I shot one on Monday of opening day of squirrel season here in NC. Hammered mine at 25 yards with one of those new Montec SGH's. Leaves one heck of a hole.

Re: TEAM 17 Congratulations on the kills guys! I'm just checking in again and foaming at the mouth to get into the woods. My season has been oen since Sept. 12th and I've got 0 time in the stand. I do get my staples out tomorrow and all ready have gotten the okay from the doctor that I'll make my Ohio hunt in 3 weeks. Good luck to everyone and and keep up the great hunting!

Re: TEAM 17 Hello guys, I've been off of the computer for a while. I been down with back surgery. My season is not over for the year, just put on delay for a few more weeks. It looks like I'll be in the woods on the first of November and hoping to help the team out. It looks like we've got a great team and some great chances to very well in this contest. Re: Practicing with broadheads I guess I'll add a little ot what Tony has said. First off, with it being a new bow. Everything has got to settle in first, meaning string twist and stretch. I gather your using fixed blade heads, even if your not. you still need to make sure the insert is square on the end of the arrow. Meaning the cut end doesn't or shouldn't have any raised areas from being cut. I always rotate my arrows a couple of extra turns on the cutter to assure of this. This will allow the insert to set properly in the end. Then there is the great debate of field tips hitting with the broadheads. Personally I could care less about where my field tips hit. I don't hunting with them. It's all about having your bow tuned and ready for hunting. I got into this discussion with my brother the other day about field tips and broadheads hitting the same place. Oh it's a properly tuned bow if they both hit the same place. Bull, I don't know where field tips hit with my hunting bow, but my hunting shafts fly just as straight and accurate as my tournament bow set up. I see nothing but a white nock flying through the air to the target. Some bow and arrow set-ups can be tuned to hit the same place and some can't. There are just to many varibles to have any bow out there hit the same with both tips. It's a known fact, broadheads plane and field tips don't. Personally, I'd shoot that bow with broadheads for at least a couple of hundred shots, after making sure all of your broadheads are square to your arrow. The try fine tuning everything. I know it's getting down to crunch time, but you've got to shoot it to get it broke in. Without it broke in, cold will affect it as well as a hotter day in the stand.

Deer turned as I pulled the trigger Buck fever Bow shot to slow for a fully alert to my presence deer Rushed the shot Took a stupid shot Several deflections off of limbs Missed judged yardage (shot it for 45 and it was 51 yards) This is just a few reasons for me, as with any longtime bowhunter. You'll have just about anything happen while in the woods and your at full draw. Never under estimate Murphy's Law. "If it can happen it will!" My all time favorite is the one, "Well I had all of my pins on the deer and it was only about 15 yards!" I've never used this one, but have heard it used plenty of times. LOL

Re: whats smallest deer youd take with bow? Poke'em Young-That's the club to be in! LOL It really depends ont he area I'm hunting. If I know there are great deer in the area, I'll hold out. If it's not a mass producing area, it's getting an arrow through it, regardless of size or gender.

Re: Broadhead tuning..... Try going up or down a turn or two on your limb bolts. Adjusting the poundage should move the arrows closer togeher. A couple of pounds either way will not hurt you. Try this before you start moving the arrow rest around, unless your not sure that the arrow is truely square.

Re: WHITE ARROWS?? Cresting or dipping arrows is so easy to do and is much easier than wrapping in my opinion. You don't have to worry about getting any wrinkles in the wrap, with dipping the arrows. It adds less weight to the end of the shaft than wraps, I believe dipping adds about 9 to 10 grains extra to the end of the shaft. Shooting through a WB is no problem either.

Re: quiver or no quiver? Hip quiver and have done this for 14 years. It lightens the bow, cuts down on any extra vibrations, makes getting another arrow more convenant for me.

Re: corkscrewing arrow??? Are you getting any fletching wear? Make sure your cable offset bar hasn't moved, if it's not mounted into the riser. You might be hitting the cables. Check the square of your arrow rest with a arrow on it. Make usre it's not point left or right, point high or low. Make sure everything on the rest is good and tight.

Re: Straight fletch I've shot straight fletch with a 2 degree off-set for the last 12 years and have had great success. A TM style rest is a helicals worst enemy. This is a rest with prongs that are close together. A WB is a different story. As with anything on a bow, it's got to be tuned in and it'll shoot anything you want through it. Me and my neighbor shot two arrows the same weight, same length, same fletchies, except for helical vs. straight. The helical actually shot 5 fps faster than the straight. Don't know why, but it did everytime. As for the advantage of straight over helical, it's all in the shooters choice.

Re: What does you license cost? Sportsman liscense in NC, which covers hunting, fishing, and trapping is $40.00. HIP is also free, you just have to tell to add it to the liscense.

Re: NEW Goldtip arrow? Yeah, take it back to the dealer you go it from and they should replace that shaft. Regardless don't shoot it.
