  1. Re: Montecs again this year... Not for me this year. This is a pic of a 85gr Montec that hit nothing but two ribs on a 100lb doe. If a blade can't take that minor amount of impact it aint for me. I had a failure to penetrate on a shoulder blade hit buck a week before this head was destroyed. I'm not completely blaming the head as the hit was less than desirable. I do like the way they fly but am not convinced the head is the end all. Strut10, They should be there any day now...... hangunnr
  2. Re: WHOOOOHOOO!!!!! It should be nice to be able to get some of the more obscure reloading components without having to order them. I'm looking forward to their opening. hangunnr
  3. Re: Poison Ivy........... Well, the doc gave me a script for Prednisone. We'll see if it works. I will be looking for some of the Zanfel. Thanks, hangunnr
  4. Cabela's is coming to N.W.INDIANA!!!!!! There had been talk for quite awhile but it's been officially anounced they will be building a new store. hangunnr
  5. Re: Encore slug barrels??? I've got a 20ga Encore slug barrel that's a one hole shooter at 50yds. My gun prefers the Federal Premium Hydra-Shok sabot slug. hangunnr
  6. Re: holsters Michaels of Oregon has a complete line of inexpensive cordura holsters. The one listed at the top of the link will fit your gun, and as an added bonus it comes in the Realtree Advantage camo pattern..... Micheals of Oregon hangunnr

  8. I don't know why but this year the stuff has been giving me fits. I haven't had any bother from it for 25 years until this year. Anyone know of any good homebrew cures? I've been using a spray called Ivy-Dry but the aroma is so acrid the dogs won't even come near..... hangunnr
  9. Re: Pa. Turkey 2006 [ QUOTE ] Non-residents are practically bent over backwards to hunt in PA with license costs alone... [/ QUOTE ] Yes, yes they are..... If it weren't for the good company, the trip east wouldn't happen for me..... hangunnr
  10. Re: Well, aint this a bummer.. [ QUOTE ] Ummm, set screw too tight? [/ QUOTE ] That's what I thought at first glance but the break was a good 1/8th inch in front of the set screw. hangunnr
  11. Re: Well aint this a bummer.. [ QUOTE ] Wow...I bet you glad that did not happen when you were pulling back the hammer. Not good. [/ QUOTE ] Could have been worse than it was. I'm just glad it didn't happen a week before our gun season opens. Hopefully they'll get it back to me in an expedient manner. hangunnr
  12. Re: Well aint this a bummer.. [ QUOTE ] Was that a T/C hammer extender? Pot metal? is that cast? [/ QUOTE ] Don't remember what brand the extender is. Pot metal........could be. Cast......definately. [ QUOTE ] Will T/C make good on the part? They usually do. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, spoke with them this afternoon. [ QUOTE ] They have great customer service. [/ QUOTE ] They sure do, one of the best out there. hangunnr

Re: &^%&*(*%#&() I understand you being mad about this......but you gotta handle things with a cooler head. If you upload your pictures into your gallery the picture police won't arbitrairily relocate them. Photobucket is a decent site to use for web pictures. hangunnr
  14. I know this isn't a ML post but this product is used by some on their T/C Encore ML guns. Was out fine tuning the .375 yesterday. On the first shot I saw something flip off the gun. At first thought I was thinking maybe a turret cover had come loose from the scope, then I saw the hammer extender laying on the bench. I've put thousands of rounds through this gun without any issues. I've only put about 100 rounds since the addition of the extender....... The set screw of the extender wasn't anywhere near the point of failure but I gotta believe the added weight it puts on the hammer did the damage. Repairing the gun isn't a real issue but the chance of a ruined hunt is a real possibility. I'd hate to have traveled somewhere and have a failure like this. Check your guns over if you are using a product similar to this..... hangunnr

  16. Re: .44 hunting load question. The 200gr XTPs work very well on deer sized game. I've shot 5 or 6 whitetail with them and have no complaints. I prefer the 200 over the 240 just for the added velocity possible with the lighter bullet. They will be a little flatter at extended range. If your gun shoots them well I'd say stick with what you have. I've been shooting the Nosler Partition 250gr lately. I've backed down a bit on the range I'll shoot a 44 at and this bullet is the best as far as accuracy is concerned. They're somewhat on the spendy side of life but I don't shoot the volume I used to so it balances out I guess. hangunnr
  17. I know several guys that carry Kahr pistols. They are pretty well made and relatively small for the caliber. I haven't heard any negative stories as of yet. hangunnr
  18. Re: Now I\'ve seen it all I meant that the gun was ridiculous not your post..... hangunnr
  19. Re: Now I\'ve seen it all [ QUOTE ] that's one sharp beretta! [/ QUOTE ] FWIW, It's a CZ not a Beretta. But that dosen't make it any less ridicules......... hangunnr
  20. Re: What do ya\'ll think..... Keep dreaming........ I aint quite ready to part company with that 375 just yet. I was thinking more along the lines of a hat or shirt. hangunnr

  22. .....about having our own little contest here in the handgun forum for handgun harvested critters only? Won't matter what kind of animal is taken just the story of the hunt and picture. Those that sign up prior to the start date will vote on who the winner is. I'll come up with something for a prize. Any suggestions would be welcome. hangunnr
  23. Re: Indians First Fall Turkey Season Counties Are Set I posted this up last week. Here's the details as to where you can hunt them... Indiana fall turkey regs hangunnr
  24. Re: Mule 835 I have a 835 with the wood stock. I filled the bolt hole with bird shot then capped the hole with hot melt glue. On top of that I added a Simms pad. While this made the gun heavier it is much more pleasant to shoot. hangunnr
  25. Re: Reloading Set-Up ? ? ? Jim, If you are interested I have a buddy selling off his Dillon gear. It will come with 5 or 6 complete die sets. It could be had for a decent price I'd imagine. If you want to know more PM me a phone number and I'll fill you in on the details. hangunnr
