  1. Re: My S/S Super Blackhawk is happy!!! That ought to feel like a completely new gun now. Be careful shooting alot of heavy loads. The added grip you'll have can give you wrist problems now that the gun can't rotate in your hand. hangunnr
  2. Re: Interesting idea.....(pic) Almost a great idea........... Now if they put a pic of Hillary Klintoons face in there it would be a great idea.... hangunnr
  3. Re: Ruger mark I meets jackrabbits Have had several Ruger semi 22's over the years. They are decent little guns for sure. It's illegal to shoot rabbits here this time of year. Our season isn't open till fall. Is there open season on rabbits there in Utah? hangunnr
  4. Re: 45 question I personally feel $400 is a bit on the high side. I wouldn't pay that much unless the slide and frame matched. With that said, if you really like the gun and are comfortable with the guns origins then go for it. The value of a gun is only what someone is willing to pay for it. You may be happy to pay that much for it but understand a dealer or for that matter another shooter may not. hangunnr
  5. Re: 45 question The value on something like this is very hard to determine. I would insist on having a competent gunsmith give her a once over to make sure the fitting of the barrel and slide was done correctly. If the gun checks out OK then take it to the range to see if it functions right. If the seller won't let you check it out then I'd pass on it. hangunnr
  6. Found myself checking out one of the local gunshops today (imagine that ). Came across this Smith 27-2 in the used gun case. Just so happens this was my first 357. It has a rather distinctive serial number so there was no doubt. I used this gun on 5 or 6 whitetails before it got traded away. Needless to say it came back home. This gun was from the era when S&W made really good revolvers. I'm happy as a clam to have her back. Whoever had her took good care but they installed these fugly plastic grips. A nice set of wood panels will bring her back into proper form. Ah, it's nice when little things like this take place. hangunnr
  7. Re: Crimson trace If they weren't so spendy I would like to play with a set of their grips. I would still stress the importance of aimed fire instead of relying on the laser. hangunnr
  8. Re: XD jammed 3 times today???? It's a bummer having a gun go down to mechanical failure, but better it happened while you were playing instead of it happening in a moment of need. Springfield will treat you right. hangunnr
  9. Re: hot loads? It's pretty much my opinion that if someone is willing to play games with loaded firearms that they aren't mature enough to own them. If someone pulled that on me it would be the last time I would shoot with them... hangunnr

  11. Re: Dillon Reloaders? I don't remember exactly what I payed for the 550. I bought the 1050 from a friend for $750. I've had both of these for at least 12 years now. I've never had any issues with the 550 and I have no clue how many thousands of rounds have been through it over the years. I did have to rebuild the primer feed on the 1050 after about 6 years of heavy use. I would conservatively guess the 1050 has processed close to 50,000 rounds. The price may seem stiff compared to some of the machines on the market but with Dillon presses you get what you pay for. You may want to keep an eye on eBay for a press. If you can get your hands on a used one Dillon will still stand behind it 100% on all models except the 1050 series. The 1050's are considered a commercial level press which don't have a lifetime warranty. hangunnr
  12. Re: Dillon Reloaders? I have two Dillon machines. I have a 1050 which is set up for my .45 match ammo and a 550 which is used for everything else. They are top notch machines with the best warranty in the business. hangunnr

Re: Reaction Time .170 average with a low time of .125....... Just what I needed................something else to waste my time on............Thanks!!! hangunnr
  14. Re: colt 1911 Is it a Colt brand for sure? hangunnr
  15. Re: Handgun funnies I've seen several guys have a .45 go full auto after some fine home gunsmithing. The look on their faces is priceless. Saw a "gun expert" at a gunshow get a very nice Garand thumb while checking out a rifle. He let the bolt slam home crunching his thumb. Even with a mashed thumb he still tried to act like he meant to do it. hangunnr
  16. Re: the hand cannon of all hand cannons [ QUOTE ] how about i leave one of those steaming piles on all of ur doorsteps? [/ QUOTE ] No need to get yer knickers in a twist. Your first post was plenty..... If'n yer are gonna put out a heavily exaggerated statement like you did you have to be ready for the feedback, be it positive or negative. I've shot the 500 and found it quite plesant to shoot. The recoil impulse isn't a violent upward whip of the barrel, it's much more of a stout but controllable rearward push. I too feel the 500 Smith is much more shooter friendly that a .454 Casull, in a single action type revolver. hangunnr
  17. Re: Strut10 Slate Call Pics They are sweet aren't they Gary..... His calls have accounted for all of my Indiana birds. Can ya tell I really like 'em..... hangunnr
  18. Re: Your worst gun Of the hundred or so firearms that have passed through my safe over the years the one that sticks out in my mind as being the biggest POS is the Smith & Wesson 22A semiauto pistol. Workmanship was mediocre, accuracy wasn't much better. Darn thing won't work consistently with any ammo. Good thread Mike.... hangunnr
  19. Re: colt 1911 Are you wanting leather or is synthetic more your speed? hangunnr
  20. Re: New Pistol How the heck did I miss this post??? Sorry Fly..... Did you get out and burn some powder yet? How does it handle? hangunnr

    CZ's

Re: CZ\'s I'll be the first to call BS on that one. I've had both of these a couple years now and neither seem to be falling apart..... hangunnr
  24. Re: Did ya ever get the feeling............ One more pic....... hangunnr
  25. Re: Bertta 22lr Not bad considering the rest you were using...... I would bet you can shrink that group in half when you find the right load. Were you shooting high velocity ammo or standard velocity? Give the CCI Velocitor ammo a try. It seems to shoot well out of all my rimfire guns. hangunnr
