We have finally got to the point on our lease that we need to take out some does. In your opinion, would it be better to take a doe without a yearling, a doe with one, or a doe that has twins? Second question, when should they go, before or after the rut?

Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. I think you should have a good mixture of both gun & bow hunts. I like the RT videos where it shows a lot of what goes on behind the scenes, not just the hunts. As others have said, follow the animal after the shot as far as possible. Also show include the specs, so to speak, of the buck, age, weight, BC score, etc. You could drop the bow comp. and wouldn't hurt my feelings any. oh yea, I would really like to see .................................................................. ME on them.

Re: Baiting Legal in Texas. Yes I do. You will seldom see a muture buck at a feeder, during daylight hours, but you will see numerous young bucks and does. The "and does" part is the key. Where they are during the rut, tends to help with catching one of the big boys. A couple of others positive that I have noticed about feeding/baiting the deer is, it is a great opportunity to study, watch and learn their habits, a good opportunity to learn to judge age of the deer and antler size. And for the last couple of years, I have learned that a feeder with deer around it helps tremendously in keeping a youngster from getting bored with just setting there and not seeing anything.

Don't know if it actually makes a difference, but I do know that the deer seem to prefer it over regular corn. Good Luck

Had to go to the mall on Friday, but this one wasn't quite as crowded as most. Big Fork Mall, in Big Fork, Arkansas. Here is a pic of some of the fall colors in Arkansas, over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Here is a pic of Jake with his 5 pointer that he took last saturday. About a 70 yard shot with his .243 and a 20 yard tracking job. My smile was similar to his.
