Breaking News: Busch Out for Year -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pete Pistone Managing Editor Posted Sunday, November 13, 2005 AVONDALE, Az. - Kurt Busch has been suspended by Roush Racing for the remainder of the NEXTEL Cup Series season in response to his police altercation in Phoenix over the weekend. Kenny Wallace will pilot the Roush Racing No. 97 Ford in Sunday's Checker Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. Roush Craftsman Truck Series driver Todd Kluever is expected to pilot the car in the season-ending Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The action is a result of Friday night's incident involving Busch and Maricopa County police. Busch was cited for reckless driving after being stopped by law enforcement officers who clocked him driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Although it was flatly denied by Busch, alcohol is believed to be involved in the situation.

Re: Rudd retiring I don't really like or dislike Rudd, but do respect him for what he has done. I also really like the way he is retiring. Just do it, don't talk about it for a year or two.

Re: Format Change??? I think I like this, you now have the links to the whole RT site at the top of the page, you don't have to get completely out or open up a new window to go to another section of Realtree (like the picture post). Don't really care for the left side thing, but that is not that big of a deal.

Christmas shopping for my husband- please help!
texastrophies replied to bfletch7441's topic in Deer Hunting
Re: Christmas shopping for my husband- please help! There were a few of us that went to High Pine Lodge for a hunt in Jan. of 2004. We ended up not having any luck during the hunt, but I believe that was mainly due to the temps being down right hot (in January) and also as luck would have it we had a full moon. As far as the lodge, accomidations, meals, etc. you won't find a better place. The meals were delicious, with plenty to eat, the setting of the lodge looks like it came out of a picture book. Randy with HPL did everything he could to try and put us on some deer, they just would not cooperate. He had us in so many different hunting locations and stands that looked absolutely great. I couldn't pull up a picture of it, but Scott had sent us a pic of a 180 class buck that had been killed about 3 miles from HPL in Dec. of 2003. My suggestion would be to get with Randy as for the time to schedule the hunt and take his advice on that, he will know what will be best. Good luck to your husband and a great big THANK YOU from all of us guys. We need more women like you. -

Sunday afternoon, Jake & I were in the stand at my parents place in Colorado county, which has the antler restrictions in place. We had a nice looking buck come out with his right side to us, looked to be a 9 pointer with a tall rack, when he turned his head toward us, it looked to me like the width did not meet the 13" requirement to be legal. When he finally turned his body around, what did we see, but an arrow sticking out of him. It looked like it was right at the end of his rib cage, with about 16" of arrow showing. The way it was flopping around, I think just the broadhead or whatever was in his body and the rest was sticking out. Did not see any blood on or around the arrow, which makes me think it has been in there for a little while. He did not appear to have any complications from the arrow, walked, ate corn and eventually ran without any signs of an injury. This deer, if it survives, will be a real nice buck next year, if the wound does not affect the antler growth. I really do not think it is legal to take this year, and since it does not appear to have any negative side affects from the arrow, I am thinking that we should just let him be. The only thing I am worried about is if the wound becomes infected, I would hate to see him suffer, when we could probably very easily put him down mercifully. We will be back out there in a couple of weeks, and maybe at that time we will be able to tell a little more about his condition. What do you think we should do?
