  9. Re: Bucks on the move in NY Good to hear. Some some bucks last weekend on the neighbor's land we were hunting, they weren't chasing yet. Last couple days that I've hunted hereo n the home gorund, haven't seen much but tomorrow should be awesome - i'll have a great north wind to hunt my fav. stand so let's hope they move good tommorrow evening Good luck everyone!
  10. I was just checking the weather on the National Weather Service website. Not sure if I'll get to hunt tonight as it might be raining but tomorrow temps. will have dropped and there will be a north wind!!! A wind from the north is the wind I need to hunt my best stand - where I've gotten by bow deer every year for the last 5 years. So this, being my 6th year bow hunting, well maybe God will bless me tomorrow night with a deer! I can't wait!!! It should be ideal tomorrow evening with the cold temps. and "perfect" wind. Woohoo, I'm excited! Wish me luck tomorrow! By the way, didn't see anything last night from the one stand I hunted. Wind was ok, not the greatest though, temps a little warm. Come on Friday - now I have something to look forward to!

    Flu Shots.....

Re: Flu Shots..... Never have gotten one. And when I hear of people or friends who get them...they end up with a cold or the flu anyway. It's because there are so many flu bugs that the vaccine can only do one flu bug I think, not all of them. I had a flu in the summer though anyway after a custodial crew picnic. Actually about 26 people on the summer crew had a 2-3 day flu over the weekend, in July it was. Some had it mild, othersl ike me, well had it both ends, lol.
  12. Re: Oh the wheels are turning upstairs Pray about it is my first suggestion. Also whatever you do, finish your education. I would say quit the job keep in college and try to find another job...If you leave school even now just to get a job, it will beh arder to get back into the school head, trust me. Good luck!
  13. Re: Think I\'ll try my luck. There's a first for everything. I've been bowhunting 6 years, hunting about 8 years total - have yet to get an opening day deer; don't think I've ever got a deer on opening day, at least archery wise. Hang in there!
  14. Re: SOOO CLOSE.... Guess that's why she is so big. At least you saw deer! I went out tonight and saw nothing. Maybe because it was between 50 and 60 degrees. Maybe because the wind changed directions a couple times, I don't know but liek you said, that's why it's hunting.
  15. Re: Joining Team Realtree? I would be interested for sure! I thin some thing $20 a year at the most would be ok. Anymore than that and I probably wouldn't pay it. you can always include a DVD in the membership or something...
  16. Re: I WAS WRONG, SORRY As my mom will tell me when our neighbors are up to no good - God will deal with him. It's not your fault and I totally respect you for what you did. "Love thy neighbor"
  17. Re: Team 16 Nothing form e this weekend. Missed a buck Saturday morning. Saw some deer but never close enough for a shot. If it quits raining, will go out this afternoon otherwise tomorrow after work for sure.
  18. Is when you see how it seems like everyone on here is putting tags on deer and I'm still deerless. Granted today is only day 4 of archery and it is raining and I'm at work, but i missed a buck opening morning, saw 2 other bucks and a doe the rest of the weekend then last night went out on my home ground, saw a small doe but I was going to take a 30 yards shot with light fading, and I heard the deer come down the hill behind me and a scrape that I walked by coming into that stand, was re-done when I walked out - darn deer! I hope I get a deer soon with my new Hoyt. Maybe the rain will let up by the time I get home but i'm not counting on it....
  19. Re: new hoyts!!! There are some nice bows there! Of course I still like my new Rintec XL from Hoyt:-) Now if a deer would come close enough.
  20. Re: Sciatic Nerve Chiropractor for sure!
  21. Re: Bummed out... I have shot squirrels and if they are wounded but not dead, they will crawl under a log or branch. A couple weeks ago, shot at one with a .22, it fell right out of the tree. It got up though and ran off amazingly...I thought for sure I had it.
  22. Re: A curse... Don't feel bad; i missed one this weekend to! Opening morning missed a buck - I think I got too excited and dropped my bow. Oh well...just gotta get back out there and not make a mistake next time! Good luck to ya!
  23. Re: First with a longbow Wow, that's awesome buddy! Congrats!!!
  24. I just didn't get to put my tag on a deer. Friday night Andy and I pick up the neighbor and drive the 45 minutes to 1 hour to the neighbors cabin. It was at least midnight by the time we went to bed and no one slept very much Saturday morning from the ladder stand, just after it got light, buck steps out 25 yards, quartering towards me sharply, started to get my win, took a shot and missed! I was over excited and the angle isn't the greatest - learned my lesson. Saw nothing that night. sunday morning about quarter to 9am, saw a nice buck a couple hundred yards way at the top of the hill in the goldenrod, then a doe about 20 yards to my left - a nice fat one to, but couldn't get a shot, too much brush. Then last night at around 5, a nice 6 or 8 point came out about 50 yards to my left and walked down the edge of the spruces, never close enough. then when the sun set, a neat old buck steps out down the path in front of me. He was wide but had a thin rack and maybe 4 points? That's all I could tell but I think he was an old deer. so we saw deer, but everyone came home empty handed. When I get home, Andy and I will be going out on the farm land we always hunt - our trusty stand set-ups and we'll see if anything happens.
  25. Re: Finally Connected...A Buck Too!! (pics) Way to go Nick! I like the buck - unique. Congrats!
