Re: Man From Snowy River I think we have it on video, but I liked the television show the best. We used to watch it all the time when we had the Hallmark channel.

So since the nxt 3 weeks are going to drive my crazy until the season starts, and because my hunting video collection consists of 4 turkey hunting videos(thanks to BuckNRut) and one deer DVD(thanks to Hoyt because of my new bow), I was wondering if anyone has any deer hunting videos/DVDs(preferably bowhunting) they'd like to sell for a cheap/reasonable price??? If you were interested in trading, I have a Cabela's PC hunting game I was going to put up for sale on here - can't remember the name exactly, and a few small items I was going to list for sale on here. Thought I'd ask because I don't get the Outdoor Channel and the Men's channel only has a few good shows. Thanks! Feel free to pm me.

Re: im worryed everyone [ QUOTE ] Could you of killed? If so i think it would of been better to maybe just put her out of misery? what else do you want to do catch it? they do make good pets tho we have a neighborhood deer... comes to you and eats out of your hand and lets you pet it.... gl with your decision [/ QUOTE ] I don't know about Ohio, but in NY, if you are caught feeding deer in the wild, big big trouble. Not a good idea to try to tame wild animals and feed them out of your hand...that is why problems arise like animal attacks and such....just a thought....

So I am thinking about an afternoon hunt today. Weather isn't the greatest but could be worse. Scattered showers today, mostly cloudy, light showers when we do get them. Any one have luck hunting squirrels in this type of weather? Any suggestions? Tonight and tomorrow is going to be more rain so since I didn't go yesterday, I thought I'd go this afternoon if I don't do anything else. I'm thinking of going down an old logging trail, right past one of my stands in woods which is a mix of hemlock/maple/beech, and there is one huge old shagbark hickory that when the squirrels hit, is an awesome ambush

Re: Post your BIGGEST shed!!! This is my best shed ever, found this spring in a corn field, about 10 yards from the old railroad grade I was walking on. It was near the end of the path to,lol, when I was dead tired.

Re: My new bow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you everyone. I'll be posting some photos very shortly:)

Re: Bagged a couple of squorrels Nice squirrels, Congrats! You know - my squirrels so far haven't been all that fat like I usually see. Of course the young ones are the best. Meat is better and they seem easier to clean aka pulling the hide off. We have tons of mast here to - beech and hickory - I think I'll go out today and see what I can find:) Congrats again!

Re: My new bow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Forgot to mention something really important - my arrows now fit, thanks to the draw length issue being fixed. Andy was so glad about that because I just got these arrows last year! Will shoot them today probably.

Ok, sorry. I don't have any photos yet. I'll take some later because I just got up and didn't get home from the bow shop last night until 9pm. But that doesn't mean I can't tell you how wonderful, awesome, sweet this bow is! So after Andy and I stopped to check a field for deer - saw a few nice bucks, not huge but they'd be bigger than any buck I have, we go to the bow shop. Guy was with another customer, had to wait a little, then he brought my bow out. He tells me Hoyt said the draw length was already set at 26", I thought it seemed like a long 26", so did he, but it felt alright. So we set up the bow, and I go to shoot it. He has one of those computerized systems so I shot had a plain target on that. Draw length felt a little long but not bad and holy cow, haven't shot a bow all year, how consistent can I get!? The arrows were hitting in the same area and this bow is fast and super quiet! I was shooting off the string with my Truball Cyclone release- working great, decided to put my ultra-nok XL on, but the bow shop guy thought it might be a littlel long - aka change my hand position. Oh and besides that, my arrows from my old bow were too short! So Andy and I thought great - new arrows to, but it didn't quite make sense. So we put the ultra-nok on, I shoot it. By then some dopy local teenagers come in to shoot, yeah they'd better move out of my way! lol Get this! I shoot the two arrows and they hit almost exactly in the same place on the target! The guys were like "wow, you don't get more consistent than that..." I was like "hee hee, in your face" as I walked down to get my arrows. By the way being computerized, the target shows dots where the arrows hit. Well I decide I was more comfortable shooting off the string so we go to the back and he has to take the string off one end to put on a couple rubber eliminator buttons so my release isn't pinching the arrow or anything and he puts a small metal crimped nock above that. So he puts it together, puts an arrow on, the arrow falls off - too short. Next thing I know he is looking at the cams, Andy says is there another hole? the guy says yeah - Hoyt had set the one cam at 26" and the other cam at 28" so my bow hadn't had the correct draw length! duh! He adjusts it and now my draw length is just right! That was nice to know and made theb ow shop guy happy because I think he though I'd end up not liking the draw length before and he'd be paying for this bow. So everyone is happy, but I'm more happy, lol! I can't tell you what a dream I am in. Deer season couldn't come any slower, lol. I never shot more consisten in my almost 6 years of bow hunting! Ok, this has been a long post on a new bow, lol, but I had to share it. I'll get some photos up later - I promise Oh yeah, and with my new bow came a package with a hat, key chain, dvd, bow catalog, instruction book, and Hoyt sticker and warranty - very nice bonus

The suspense is killing me! If it isn't bad enough I have to wait until 7 tonight to go get my bow, there is still about 3 weeks until the archery opener, aaahhh! The weather today so says deer hunting! Very cool, the smell of fall, colored leaves falling....I can make it, I can make it...no I can't! lol! Anyone else jumping out of their skin?

Re: shot a deer Hope you got out and found her! Give it your all and if you don't find her then, you gave it your best try. We all have lost a deer at some point and all you can do besides trying to find it, is to learn from it and get back in the saddle. Good luck!

Re: Just One Single Question: Intriguing question. Personally I find questions like that too personal, lol. In one of my classes, we were talking about legal and illegal questions that can be asked by an interviewer to an interviewee and I think some of those even apply to forms such as you talked about....

Re: my opener buck That's a nice little buck! More points than my biggest buck, lol. Congrats!!!

Re: Single..and loving it..... I agree with ya huntingbabe! Haven't had a boyfriend ever, not planning to anytime soon. At the college I just graduated from, girls out number guys but it seems that every guy has a girlfriend at least. Therei s more to life, in my opinion, than trying to find a boyfriend/girlfriend first thing. I came up with a saying: "No guys = no problems". No offense to any of the guys here, but when all I hear about is who dumped who or a guy abusing someone or affairs and stuff like that, it sounds so stupid to me.....some like being single, some don't, it's all good:)
