Re: Actually... My sister and I were homeschooled all the way until college - K - 12th. When we moved to the area where we are now, there was a local homeschool group and they had a basketball team which wep layedo n and they did other various activities for kids. I'm glad I was homeschooled and personally, that idea the homeschooled kids aren't social enough and it is bad for their socializing...well it bugs me. God didn't put us on this earth for other reasons besides being a social butterfly. With what goes on in public schools these days, I'm glad I was homeschooled. We did an intensive correspondence course - A Beka - and it prepared us for alot, not to mention my sister and I both had high scores on the SAT and ACT in the verbal/written areas. At college I was praised many times for my writing skills. Not too brag. All homeschool families are different and they all teach different and use different courses. Some are better than others. Just my opinion...

Re: Oh yeah, score!!! I think you may have but will have to wait for a ruling for Tominator, lol. I think they tails need to be measured as I did. I could be wrong but that is how we did it last year. Ok, your next squirrels, don't cut the tails off,lol:-)

Re: This may be a dumb question.... Well Andy said he could put the stuff on for me, so when the bow comes in, I may just have the guy make sure it is at the right draw length, put my peep sight on, pay him, and bring it home:-) Oh, when the day comes...........

I got my new bow sight in the mail yesterday and hopefully sometime this week the guy at the shop will call and tell me my Hoyt bow is in. Since I'll have the sight, rest, and nock for the new bow, do I just take the stuff with me when I go to get the bow and should he put everything on and help get it all adjusted? I haven't had to do this type of thing before, lol, so that's why I'm asking.

Re: Oh yeah, score!!! MrBuckshot - I like to skin mine and freeze them, and we'll either cut the meat off and deep fry it (yum) or mom will stuff them and cook them in the over, or when I'm camping out, I pull one out of the freezer then by the campfire I rub butter on it and put some salt and pepper on and cook it over the campfire. There are lots of ways to cook a squirrel:-)

Anyone know if you have a reflex in your elbow? I think there is but i'm not positive. I was vacuuming a classroom this morning and as I pulled the vacuum back with my left hand, my elbow hit the wall and my jerked forward but being that my hand was still holding onto the vacuum, it made my wrist bend beyond what it is normally use to - kind of hyperflexed it. So that wasn't excutiating but it hurt; seems ok now, a little sore if I rest my head on my hand which I just found out. But yeah, I was replaying what I did and I'm trying to figure out if it was a reflex or just an automatic reaction to wacking a birck wall....hmmm.... Ok, you can start teasing me now Buckee, Tominator........ It's not stopping me from a possible squirrel hunt this evening though

Re: What is your favourite I like mornings and evenings but all the deer I've gotten with bow have been in the evening....go figure...and from the same stand which means that goes for the last 5 years! That stand obviously seems to be a better stand in the evening, then another stand up on this old logging trail is good in the morning/mid-morning, but both work good at both times really... It all depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Ok, some of you I hope will remember this, some of you have no clue, lol, but here is my claim to fame ,my piece of Realtree artifact. A few years back, I think it was my first year as a member, a bunch of Realtree guys went on a hunt in Tennessee with Dave Watson. Well this is what the awesome guys sent me! Some of the signatures on there are: Buckee, Scott, Norm, Dave Watson, Billkay, Too_Pointer, Tony, Hangunner, Julian Ohmer, Chris Tripp, and like a couple others I couldn't read This really is the best forum!

Re: Any clean antlers yet? I was out squirrel hunting Friday and found a small, fresh rub on a tree, so I think they are starting to shedtheir velvet around my area. Not hardcore yet but starting.

Despite being tired and slightly bummed/shocked about Steve Irwin's death, I went out this afternoon with the .22 after some grays. Andy and I sighted in the .22 yesterday after I cleaned it; the scope was a bit off, but Andy thinks a bolt-action would be more accurate than our sem-automatic .22. Anyway there was a bit of a breeze that makes it hard to hear nuts falling, but finally after like 1.5 hours, I found a huge puffball mushroom which is edible so I took that, then I heard acorns falling in a nearby tree and low and behold I got my 2nd contest entry on the 2nd shot at about 10 yards (was excited on the first shot, lol) and this is probably one of the nicest grays I've ever gotten! I have the tail drying to I can save it. Anyway photos are below. Tail measured 12" and that isn't even really to the longest possible hair. I'll let Tominator be the judge, but I haven't gotten a squirrel this nice in a long long time!

I'm sure most of you probably know that Steve Irwin died from a Sting-ray. I heard it on the radio this morning driving home and was totally shocked. When I got home, I told my mom and sister who had no idea and I actually cried. I feel so bad for his great wife and 2 kids and can't believe he is actually dead. My sister and I loved to watch his shows on Animal Planet when we had it. It definitely bummed my day a bit but at least he died doing what he loved. Please keep his family in your prayers. We may not have known him personally and most of us don't leave even close to Australia, but you don't have to be close in distance or know someone well to pray. He may have done some risky things, but he was a great wildlife person.
