  1. Re: First Bow Buck Wow, what a great first bow buck! That would be a real dandy in NY state - at least in western NY state:) Congrats!
  2. Ok, Monday marks 3 weeks I've been waiting for my Hoyt Rintec XL to come into the bow shop. I went to the shop on a saturday and told the guy what I wanted so I'm assuming he called in an order on a Monday. How long can it take to get a bow? I'm starting to get a little anxious with bow season only a little less than 4 weeks away.

  9. Re: Southern Zone New York Hunters Hey, as long as deer season keeps having an opening day, I don't care, I just want to be out in the woods hunting!:-) I enjoyed having monday openers, but now that I'll probably be working, I'll like the weekend opener. Hunting on opening day is a tradition.
  10. Re: my odd dear from about 11 years ago or so Very cool deer!
  11. Re: Yeeeeeehawwwww!!!!! Good luck and bag a big one!!
  12. Re: Velcro vs. Buckle?? So should I go with the buckle instead of velcro? Does the buckle strap on TruBalls padded well. I don't want it to be rubbing into my wrist.
  13. Re: I\'ve been given a job opportunity.... Yeah, I'd like to do something in my field- outdoor rec/ed but those types of jobs are very seasonal, so right now I need to something for a paycheck at least and considering I can do this at the college I graduated from, a Christian one at that, seems like a blessing:)
  14. Re: I\'ve been given a job opportunity.... Must be God wants me to learn something from custodial because I just can't escape, lol!
  15. Ok, so I was checking my email and the head of custodial emailed me. One of the supervisors is having knee surgery, so she will need some time off. He asked if I would like to cover her areas while she is off and I would get paid more than minimum wage. He said I would be considered a "casual adult" and not a "real adult". I emailed him back to find out the dates for sure. A month, ok maybe, a couple months, ummm no way. And I told wilderness adventures I would help them on the ropes course possibly also. Aaahhh...what to do!
  16. Re: Camo question Bowtechs Wife - get some of those hand warmer things that you open, shake, and they heat up. That's what I use when I get cold, especially me feet. I'll open a few and stick some in my boots, and in my pockets. The best way I found is to stick them in your pockets closest to your hip bone because you have a big artery running through your leg - the femoral artery - and that "warms your blood and will make your feet warmer. I know, it works! Camo wise - I just buy either large youth sizes or small or medium men sizes - and usually when something is on sale to.
  17. Re: SWEET!Thank you Drury and Scentblocker!! Hey, where do you go to vote??
  18. Re: I don\'t believe it !!!! Oh my gosh, you are way stinking lucky, or really blessed! Congrats!
  19. Re: SWEET!Thank you Drury and Scentblocker!! Wow, that is awesome, congrats!
  20. Re: Disgusting Definitely not a good way to show non-hunters what hunters truly are.... Some people don't think and some people don't know how to think, lol
  21. Re: A dilema, Advice needed...(long) Yeah, I'd say maybe not let her see the gutting process but if the shot presents itself, take it. Also like VT said, take some food and such. Make it fun for her! Alot of times that is what turns a kid off from something when they were young, they were either pressured into it, or they didn't have fun. Take some snacks, maybe a coloring book for if she gets bored, but it sounds like she enjoys herself. If you think she has a good understanding, go for it.
  22. Ok, I know I want a TruBall Cyclone release and the one I tried had a velcro strap and felt great, but I've heard alot of other people use the buckle because it is quieter and more consistend? What are your opinions? I'm trying to decide whether to for the velcro wrist strap or get the buckle strap? My main concern is, is the buckle on a Truball as comfortable as the velcro one is and does the buckle go small enough if need be? The velcro is nice because it is very adjustable but of course the concern for being noisy and the velcro eventually wearing out. What do you think?
  23. Re: What a waste.... What shame. That was a nice buck even now. Too bad.....
  24. Re: I must be crazy! lol. Man, I'm so nervous even if it isn't until next Friday, ahhh....
  25. So The Wilderness Adventures program at college which does ropes course and other outdoor activities for school kids, said they could maybe use me. Will I got an email and they said they could use me Sept. 29 and Oct. 11, and also Sept 22.(next Friday). Next Friday they are going up to Rochester to do a program for 5th. graders, leaves at 7:30am, get back around 3pm. I said yes, mainly because my mom said so, it would be good experience, but now I'd rather die, lol. I'm so nervous! I don't know what they'll want me to do, but it'll be a 2 hour van ride up there and a 2 hour van ride back, and I don't talk much in car rides long distances and I am a shy and quiet type. Ugh, I must be insane! Anyone have any good tips?
