    Burning question

Re: Burning question We burn our paper trash but that is it. Burning paper isn't as bad as burning plastic/rubber etc....I saw our neighbor one time start up a fire and throw in plastic 5 gallon pails and what not. Should have called the DEC or something but didn't. I think paper is ok, plastic trash is not, in my opinion.
  3. Re: Sept 2nd 06\' P&Y Gorgeous deer! Congratulations!!!
  4. Re: Deer Hunter 2005 Sure! I'm on right now so I'll keep looking for a reply from you as to if you are going to have one... let me know or I'm on AIM also right now
  5. of all this rain from Ernesto if you are getting it? Oh man, I want it to stop NOW,lol. It is really nasty out between the cold temps. and the rain. I am not looking forward to going back out at 5pm to do theb arn chores and get my mom some potatoes from the garden. I've got the rabbit hutches covered with towels to try and protect them, and the barn is closed up to keep the hay dry, minus the door for the horses to go in and out. It is just plain miserable outside! At least I just looked on the radar and it is showing the trailing edge of this. Before it was all green, so it's a good sign, I think. Hope you are all safe and dry! Oh yeah, my mom and I made a quick run to the store and the Genesee River is getting pretty high down here, along with the lake which is really high. I think a few people will lose some boats and docks by tomorrow.
  6. Re: Steve Beilgard on TV Darn, that would have been fun to watch! Only shows I get to see are on the Men's Channel and ESPN on Sunday mornings, but it's something. Congrats on your famousness Steve, lol!
  7. Re: Sad and weird!! Well Too....they appeared to be dead. Probably because once I shot and killed the mother, blood stopped flowing to them and all that, so they got tossed with the rest of the stuff. Definitely not a fun experience but nothing I could have done. It was at least educational because I've never cleaned an animal that was pregnant that far along...so in a way it was neat.
  8. Re: i got 5 today ! Wow, awesome job! Good shooting....your .22 is probably better shooting than mine, lol.
  9. Re: did\'nt get to go tree rat hunting ! Hey, you'll have more days to go hunting than to spend with your stepson; but you'll get out soon enough!!! I'm sure you'll make up for lost time.
  10. Re: Here\'s my contest entry Thanks! Actually the tail measures around 11.5" which isn't too bad for a Gray really.
  11. Re: Well I got one at least Congrats! One is better than none! Mine is bigger though, lol. Is that a Fox squirrel?
  12. Ok, this put a little damper on my squirrel success yesterday. I got one squirrel, and when I picked it up, thought hmmm...seems kinda fat but maybe it is because it was shot on the side of the abdomen. I get home and start to clean it, to see a head pop out of the abdomen. It had babies! There were 5 of them, about 3 inches in length I'd say. I felt really terrible at first, but how could I have known? Also, isn't it a little un-common for the squirrels to have babies still? I've read they usually breed in like late February and again in like June. It won't stop me from squirrel hunting but gosh, I felt bad. Hmmm...6 squirrel limit per day in NY, 1 mommy squirrel plus 5 babies = 6?
  13. Re: good first morning. Good luck! I hope it isn't raining there like it is here in NY which ruined my morning. I went out yesterday afternoon with the .22 - I wanted a challenge. Saw 5 squirrels, one of which was huge and I think it may have been a Fox Squirrel because I've been told there are a few around. Out of those 5 squirrels, missed 3, didn't get a shot at 1 because of a misfire, and got the last one which had a decent tail:) If it stops raining today, but more likely tomorrow, I'll be out again.
  14. Ok, I didn't see a Contest Entry Thread and not sure if I'm suppose to send pics to Chris or not but last year we had a Contest Photo Threa I believe. So if someone knows, let me know so I can either send these to Chris or maybe one of the Mods. could make an Entry Thread? Out of 5 squirrels total, only 1 I didn't miss the .22. I think I'm going to clean the .22 today and if it stops raining, check the scope Oh yeah, hopefully I did the measuring right to,lol. I think it is how we did it last year.

    Hi all!!

Re: Hi all!! Hey Crisi and welcome!!! Nice to see ya joined this place also:-)
  16. Re: contest entry thread!!pics fo sheds!! The contest iso ver for those of you who don't know. It ended like in June or July I think?? I know because my team won,lol
  17. Re: Good morning and good luck Thanks ExT! I'm gonna head out soon for a long afternoon of opening day squirrel hunting. I just can't wait to be out in the woods either! Good luck everyone!
  18. Ok, guys, I got outta work at noon instead of 2:30pm, the supervisors are nice. I'm so pumped to get out in the woods for squirrels, got to eat some lunch first. I can't decide which gun to go with so hel me decide. should I take the .22 which has a scope on it? It'll make it more challening and a bigger chance of missing, but also destroys less meat, is light to carry, and obviously is fun and challening. Or do I take the 20 ga. Mossberg shotgun? Less chance to miss, but heavier to carry and will put more holes in the meat, lol And if I go with the shotgun, use the full choke or modified? i'm leaning towards the .22 because I love a challenge some days and today is one of those days
  19. Re: Tomorrow is the day Good luck! NY's starts tomorrow to. I'll be out there with the 20 ga. as soon as I get out of worked and changed into some camo.
  20. Re: 24 hours! When I got up at 6am this morning to get ready for work, it was 40 degrees out! The house was freezing! Suppose to be in the low/mid 70's tomorrow...should be a thriller, lol! Now I have to decide where I'll go...maybe do a round trip through some beech and hickory over to some oaks and a big hickory then back through some Beech towards home...or I'll just go where ever those squirrels call me,lol! Maybe I can be the first to put a score up:)

  22. Re: Welp Im moving to Wyoming! Good luck Ryan! I'm sure you'll do great and I think the hunting is great out there to! Be sure to post some pics when you get moved and we'll pray for ya!
  23. Re: is he a shooter? Wow, I'd say go for him! He is a brute in my opinion! Like nick, we don't have a ton of huge deer to choose from in Ny so any buck to walk by my stand is game, but if your buck came by I'd shoot him for sure (if I could stop shaking, lol)
  24. Re: Remember to keep Chris in your prayers Praying for the best Tominator! Yesterday while working, I thought that Friday, my first squirrel hunt of the season, I'm dedicating to you:-)
  25. Re: I have a job...sort of Ugh, I just remembered Monday, the day they want me here working all day, I volunteered to help Andy with a ticket both at the local Labor Day grounds. Darn, now what? I'll have to talk to mom when I get home, but I think custodial might win because I do get paid, and they'll need me more I think. I dunno.......
