  2. Re: Some fun farming photos Yes, I did get some action photos yesterday! I'll probably upload them and get them posted tomorrow at sometime, or try to. You should have seen me, running up and down the road with the camera, lol.
  3. Re: Tried some releases today... I don't have my new bow yet thought, lol Going to call the shop tomorrow and ask if it is in yet. I don't know why I didn't think of at least taking the loop with me...duh. I think it'll work fine though. I sure is the best feeling one so far! I'm glad I tried the hurricane and judge and then the cyclone because if I had just ordered the judge or hurricane, I wouldh ave found out they were too bulky and big for me
  4. Re: Tried some releases today... Well I think it should fit my nock fine, no problem. I'm just wondering if any one else knows if it will shoot fine off my type of nock before I buy it?
  5. Re: My mule buck! Congrats SS!!! That's a decent buck to be proud of! Way to go buddy!
  6. Re: 1st Deer of 2006 (pic) Congrats on a nice doe! She will be tasty!
  7. So I went to a bow shop today to try out some releases and I tried on a Trufire Judge and Trufire Hurricane, but I found them to be somewhat bulky and big. Well I decided to try on a Tru-Ball Cyclone and wow, I love it! It is extremely comfortable, the length adjusts well, it fits well, the trigger fells good. I think I might go with this release instead! The head rotates, it is small and light. I'd like to know though if anyone here has one or has tried one a Cyclone and your thoughts? Will it work fine on my aluminum Ultra-Nok? I hope so because I really like this release. Trufires are good, but the solid shaft is really bulky and heavy to me and the Cyclone with the web strap was awesome; it felt great! So any thoughts are appreciated!
  8. Re: Why is it...... I have a 3 pin sight sight for sale, lol, just haven't posted it yet but I believe it's a Tru-Glo, an older one at that.
  9. Re: TruFire Releases?? Well I here the Judge is a good release, and so is the Hurricane, so I think I might go with the Hurricane but then I think about the Judge, so any last comments/opinions? From your experience or at least point of view, is either release going to be better than the other in terms of being used my my Ultra-Nock XL loop or not really? I'm hoping to get to a bow shop/Walmart tomorrow to at least try one on or something, but seems that most places are already sold out.

Re: RYAN H Wow, that is very sad to hear. Will keep him and his family in my prayers!
  11. Re: My first shed well not really but close That is really cool! Congrats on the find! We don't have those deer running around here wild.
  12. Re: TruFire Releases?? I know, a lot of people say just switch to s stringl oop, but my aluminum loop is still new from last year and I haven't had any problems from it so I'm going to stick with it until I need to replace it. That's why I'm trying to decide whether to go with the Hurricane web or spend more money on the Judge.....
  13. Re: TruFire Releases?? Hmmm...ok....someone though did say the Hurricane does have a little rotation so does anyone have this release to tell me for sure?
  14. Re: Does it ever feel like Makes the time go by faster with hunting season approaching though:)
  15. Re: Daughters first trip Congrats on the attempt at teaching your daughter to "pop a squat", lol. Sounds like it was still a fun time!
  16. Re: TruFire Releases?? So I was on Basspro's website and it said the hurricane has a head that rotates 360 degrees, so this is correct? If so then I'll probably get this release with the web strap. It shortens up fairly well doesn't it?
  17. Re: Some fun farming photos I meant 4WD's with duals:) I love to see the big tractors, lol.
  18. Re: TruFire Releases?? It does Vt? Is it the Hurricane with the web strap or the hurricane like LifeNRA posted, or just any hurricane? Someone somewhere else said the hurricane head rotates a little. Does it not rotate 360 degrees but does rotate some to help prevent torque? Here is a link tothe Ultr-Nok XL loop I have...do you think the hurricane will fit it fine? The description of the Ultr-Nok says it is made to fit most release aids so I'm assuming it should work. I'm just trying to find out about as much as possible before I order one and I want to save money if possible, but don't want to cheat myself later. Thanks everyone for the help!
  19. Re: Some fun farming photos Yeah, this guy is actually partnered with another guy and his main farm is about 20 minutes from where we live and has built these small cow barns all over the place and pretty much owns like 1/2 the land here in the county from my opinion, lol. He has some great 4WD tractors also. One time a couple years back, he left a tractor sitting up in the one field behind our woods. My mom and I took a walk and I looked in the tractor, the door was unlocked and the keys were in it, lol!!!
  20. So this guy who lives down the road from us, who is a car dealer, he and Andy have been going over to some land this guy bought about 1 hour away from here. He has a small cabin on it. Anyway between he and Andy, they have seen 3 huge bucks! He is going to let Andy hunt there, so it looks like Andy and I will be taking 2 climbers over there and do some bowhunting. It would be so awesome to get a chance at a big buck this year and have a chance in the contest, lol, but either way, I can't wait for the season to come around, big buck or little buck. Oh, and one of the bucks he saw has a droptine! So now if i'm hunting the land here, I might have to keep myself from shooting a little buck in hopes of having my tag to shoot a big buck on this new land. I think Andy is pretty excited to get over there and hunt. Oh and andy said he found a few scrapes and a rub and the marks left in the tree from the tines, he could stick is thumb down in I guess. There is a ton of deer sign around there. Looks like it might be an exciting hunting here. Besides the farm land we always hunt right here at home, is pressured by gun hunters, so these deer are fairly smart around here. I guess not alot of pressure in this new spot. Man, I want to find my new release soon and get my new bow soon to get ready
  21. Re: That hurt! LOL! Yeah, Bear, I'm from NYS. Don't know where Glen Cove is though.
  22. Re: New To the Site, and Bowhunting..... Good luck. Let us know what bow you get. I'm still waiting to get a call from the bow shop telling me my Hoyt Rintec XL is in!
  23. Re: opening day here in NC Way to stick with it! that's the thing about bowhunting or hunting in general...you never know what's going to happen and when. I get a thrill just squirrel hunting and when a deer, even a doe comes out, the adrenaline goes crazy. At least now, you've got in the stand and seen some deer. Good luck and keep us updated!
  24. Well the local big time farmer has been chopping alfalfa this weekend and he had his machinery parker a road down from my house so here are some photos of the machinry and you'll get a peek at the lay of the land around near my house. This is from the road In this photo, if you look to the right of the exhaust pipe on the tractor, you can kind of see a dark green which is corn and that is part of our land. We let the farmer who lets us hunt his land plant corn on it. And just to the very right of the pipe, between the pipe and the corn you can see some trees which is a corner of our woods. The other fields around though are owned by the guy who owns these tractors and he doesn't let anyone hunt his land which is too bad. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did These are the best tractor photos I've gotten yet
  25. Re: TruFire Releases?? Well Walmart last night was totally sold out of their TruFire releases. I really think I'm going to order either the Judge or the Hurricane...I'm just not sure if I should spend the extra money for the Judge since it has a swiveling head, or spend less on the Hurricane...Input? Oh yeah, and any one have any opinions on web vs, the hard plastic connestion between the wrist strap and release head? Before I was going to go for the hurricane with the webbing, but now I might go for either the Judge or a Hurricane with the hard connection. Oh, here is a link to the release I currently have that I want to replace: http://www.prorelease.com/products.aspx?product=th2
