Well I thought some of you might just be dying to know my grades from this last semester, so here you go. I'll go from best to worst,lol Initiatives = A Psychosocial Aspects of PE/Sport = A Senior Seminar in Rec. = A Natural Resource Management = A- Conservation Biology = B Book of Job = C Rec. Internship = ?? Doing that in a few weeks so won't know but hopefully an A So without knowing my internship grade, my semester GPA is like a 3.267. I gues it isn't too bad. Not too happy about the C which is what brought my grade down, but I'm glad I got an A is Psychosocial class; should look good if I'm doing athletic training in the fall By the way, my college has a hard, strict grading scale anyway; everyone complains, unless they are A students

Re: NY-what\'s going on? Maybe the turkeys around my area just aren't what they use to be because it seems like everyone else is at least hearing or seeing something....I dunno....maybe I should hit the state land again...

So last night I went for a walk around the farmland by my house. Stopped to look at some beautiful painted trilliums (not too common; endangered) and I spook a turkey off the roost, not sure what gender it was, next to the swamp where the gobbler and hens had been the beginning of May. So this morning, I went out and put a decoy out in the middle of the open swamp, where I saw some turkey tracks and where they had flown down the beginning of May. I heard and saw nothing! I called somewhat sparingly, yelping and clucking maybe every 10-15 minutes and sat there for an hour and a half until I was cold and my butt was frozen into the ground,lol. I didn't get out tonight to check it out but tomorrow evening I'm going to go to that area and see if I hear anything roost and give it a go on Friday. We are suppose to get some rain Friday so maybe that will help. I was going to check out the state land, but I'm running out of time to check both areas so I might just stick around home and hope that turkey that is around is a legal bird and comes in Does anyone have any calling tips because I was using a box call, but felt like I am getting off key yelps or something, I have my ol' yeller slatek which I haven't used muched this year. Should I be going soft or call aggressive?

Re: UPS came yesterday Thanks for the tips New and everyone else! i'm looking forward to getting on the water:) I just found an online illustration of how to tie the nail know using a nail and it actually doesn't look that hard. Maybe because in one of my rec. classes in college, we had to tie knots and I learned how to tie a knot similar to that, just fewer times wrapping around. Of course, I may not find it that easy when I try it,lol!

And brought my Cabela's order aka my Fly rod and fly reel, yahoo! I was even surprised to find the rod came in a green, padded Cabela's rod case which was a nice bonus because I wasn't expecting one! Now I just need to figure out a few knots....

I haven't been out in a week because of this miserable weather w've been having, but i'm planning to go out this week. does any one know how the turkeys are behaving? i'm assuming they are probably quieting down (not that I've heard much anyway,lol). How I should I be hunting the turkeys this late in the season?

Re: Weird things while you sleep? I've woken myself up screaming,lol. Sometimes I'll be dreaming something and then wake up, standing by my bedroom door or I'll wake myself up, running to my bedroom door which is like 10 feet from my bed,lol.

This is a HiViz Flashpoint front sight for vent ribbed shotguns. I bought it this past fall, put it on my Mossberg shotgun, and that was it, it never saw a squirrel in front of it since I used the .22 instead I bought a new front sight this spring because I decided I didn't like this on this much. I has a magnetic and sticky bottom with a screw hole to attach to the gun, along with several different HiViz sight tubes and several different screw sizes to fit most vent ribbed shotguns. The far right orange sight tube broke when I was taking it out, but I glued it together so it seems just fine. The photo shows everything you get. Re: I admit it.... Thanks for the tips guys. I know, I wish I lived a little closer to some of you,lol! I was going to go out and look for roosting birds tonight, but didn't get back from shopping until late then I had to do the barn chores so by then it was way late. The weather is suppose to be really miserable tomorrow - high winds, rain, cool temps. so i may not get out unless I wake up and go yeah, what the heck! lol This coming week is suppose to get better weather wise so tomorrow evening if it isn't a wash out, I'll go scan the fields and see what may be out. Re: Fly fishing equipment.... Well I was at Walmart today, went to get a leader and some tippet. Wanted a 4x leader and 5x tippet, but I guess those are popular, so I got a 3x leader which is like 7 lb test, and a 4x tippet which was like 5.5lb test. Is this alright since I'll be doing trout fishing and I doubt I'll be hooking into any huge fish,lol. My pole and reel should come from Cabelas next week sometime then all the fun begins,lol
