Re: Good deals at Walmart I was at Walmart a few weeks ago. Got a long sleeved camo shirt for $5, but it was MO. I'm sorry Realtree, but I'm a college student so I buy mainly according to price, lol. I think by now, most stores around me will be cleaned out.

Re: Jakes and Jennies in NY I haven't seen any young ones on the property I hunt for 3-4 years now. There used to be alot, that is how I got turkeys, lol, but I know I didn't shoot them all. I think the predator population is up in my area and the land I hunt was logged which I think moved the turkeys right out. Just a few older birds now...

Re: I.D. Mix-up (sad real life incident) I didn't read the article but I bet it is about the Taylor University students, right? I heard it this morning on the radio, all i could think was WOW, how tragic for both families. Now they have to like go through the process all over again somewhat...

Re: Had my wisdom teeth taken out Ouch, rough day! I hope you are feeling better soon! When I got braces a while back, I had to have 2 perfectly good teeth pulled out just so hopefully I wouldn't have to have my wisdom teeth out. I thought the dentist was dumb at first but seems he was right, I still have all my wisdom teeth several years later after my braces. Take it easy...

Re: update on knee injury.MRI The orthopedic will have more knowledge than a regular doctor. Good luck and if you still feel uncomfortable with what the doctor says, go see another one. Youm ust have really bruised it. I had a bruised knee one time, at basketball camp, landed right on it, had a huge black and blue bump on it and it hurt butn ot like yours which makes me wonder if you need another doctor's opinion. Good luck! Oh yeah, there is a name for the cracking and popping but I can't remember what it is.

So last year, when I got back from the Adirondacks, I had a really sensitive tooth where if I ate anything, warm, cold, whatever, it just spazzed out and I was really uncomfortable until the dentist found that an old filling had a chip in it. Well in about 1.5 weeks, I go back to the Adirondacks. This weekend I had alot of ice tea and ate alot of ice. Yesterday at work I got a drink from the cold water fountain to find the same tooth I think, hurt when I got the cold water on it. It is fine if I eat or drink something not cold, but now it is sensitive again and I started to think "great, what if I did something to the fillinf when eating ice" or something like that. I can't see anything wrong with it so I just hope it is just temporarily sensitive. I had to go to the dentist too many times last year so I hope nothing is wrong because I don't want to have to go through what I did last year. I have some Sensadine toothpaste which I use. Though, it does come to mind that over the weekend, while bathing my horse, he flung his head up and smacked me square on the chin which hurt and left a little bruised, sore bumped, and that hit wacked my jaws together to maybe my tooth just got irritated. I dunno but I'm done venting now and custodial break is almost over. Please say a prayer if you think of it, but I'm probably making it too much of a big deal, I just have too much stuff to do to get ready for my internship. Thanks friends!

Well after spooking a turkey when walking across a field last night, not sure if hen or not, I went out this morning ,set up below a ridge where I thought the turkey might have roosted. Sat until about 6:30am, moved towards a field incase the turkey was out in it, and I spook it out of its roost, talk about a late rooster! Well I moved through different spots, spending an hour at each, with no luck. Thus, today marks probably the last time I'll be out this year. That makes 3 long, sad years without a turkey and it is really frustrating to see other people have luck and nothing year. All I know is I'm not watching turkey hunting on TV for awhile, just makes me sick. I guess I'll just have to wait until fall and duke it out again with the turkeys. I did see a tree that had 7 fat grey squirrels in it, never saw so many in one spot, too bad I have to wait until September 1. My mom loves wild turkey and I would just love to get another one, for her. Well there were some good moments despite no luck with the turkeys...seeing god's wonderful creation and being amazed at the detail in it, seeing some bucks in velvet one evening running around and playing in a swamp, having a Common Yellowthroat Warbler about 3 feet from me singing, pretty cool. Congrats to all of you who filled a tag or tags and to those of you who didn't have any luck, join my club and keep your head up for the fall and next spring

Re: Vandalism: Wow, that is so dumb. Kids these days, so of them, have no respect for anything. Don't worry, when I graduated, I didn't do anything bad, lol! Probably that Christian liberal arts education, I dunno, lol.

Re: State land or home ground? Thanks guys! i'm probably going to go to the home ground tonight, I wanted to get some photos of some wildflowers and I'll see what's happening. If nothing, then tomorrow night at least. I'll head over to state land and check it out, maybe I can find one. This late in the season I don't think there is going to be any other guys out there.

So in about 2 weeks, I will be going back to the Adirondacks, well to the southern Adirondacks at least. My internship at a DEC summer camp starts June 10, thankfully they think I can commute for the most part. On June 11 or 12, the camp here is going up to the Pack Forest Camp in the southern Adirondacks for staff training with the other camps then will come back here for staff training another week. I wasn't going to go, but met the camp director the other day and she encourage me to go, so did my mom unless she just wants me out of the house, lol) so I guess I'll be heading there for 4-5 days of training. It'll be exciting but I'm also a little worried about it. I know no one, it is really new, I've never worked at a camp before and the one time I did, I quit after a week of staff training because the camp director at the camp was telling lies and just totally "way out there". I also tend to be quiet and like to be off by myself, like fishing, lol. I hope they allow fishing up there though and if I catch anything, they'll let me keep it, freeze it, and bring it home. If not, oh well, I'm still taking my pole

So I'm sitting here trying to decide, where I should roost turkeys tonight? Should I stick with the homeground and go where that turkey roosted the other night, although I don't know if it was a hen or tom, and I don't even know if the tom is still around. Or, should I go over to the state land I haven't been to in 2 weeks, where there was alot of turkey sign up on this logging trail on a ridge, where I saw 2 hens one night, and see if there are any birds there? Or, my other thought was I could try to roost birds on the homeground tonight, and if no luck, hit the state land in the am, or hunt home in the morning for a couple hours, then drive over to the state land and try that for a few hours? Hmmm...late season decisions are tough. Anyone have a suggestion?
