Help! What can I keep my sight on with?
Turkeygirl replied to Turkeygirl's topic in Hunting Equipment
Re: Help! What can I keep my sight on with? Well what I tried didn't work so I'll have to try to find some Loctite I guess. Andy has some Fletch-tite for fletching arrows, would that work the same as Loctite or would it ruin the gun metal and the sight? I'm like broke right now, lol, so if the Fletching stuff would work, great. I'm just don't know if it would let me take it out later or not... if I needed to for a reason -
Re: Twisters Came Threw The Ranch Lastnight... Wow, glad you are ok! I bet it was scary! We don't get them really in NY but I've been in some really high wind storms and thunderstorms that are scary enough for me!

Re: Polk(poke) Salad, anyone?? You can eat dandelions also. I think it is really neat to find out all the wild stuff growing around that you can eat. I've got a couple books on wild edible plants. It's a good thing to know! I don't think I knew that stuff was edible. I see it around all the time.

Re: My Photographs Tominator, i didn't know you knew so much much about make-up??? lmbo!!! Great photos girl, you have some talent! I like your cat. I've have my cat for quite a few years also, probably close to 10! He's grey and white, maybe I'll get a photo up sometime.

Re: Good Day Wow, I almost cried, those sheds are so beautiful with the brown coloring. We don't see those much in NY. Truly a pieceof art in my book. If you ever need to get rid of a brown shed like that, let me know, lol! Congrats on those finds!

Help! What can I keep my sight on with?
Turkeygirl replied to Turkeygirl's topic in Hunting Equipment
Re: Help! What can I keep my sight on with? Well I don't know that I'll be getting to a store any time by opener Monday. I did go over and rummage through Andy's tool area and found some really thin almost rubber like white tape stuff that I think I've seen him put on screws maybe when he screws them in? I also found some double sided foamy tape that may work, but could it cause a major issue by like rising the sight a tiny bit? I have a mid-bead so if it raised the front sight a tiny bit, it may not do anything anyway?? I also found some carpet tape which is thin and really sticky with these firbous thread in it. I'm thinking of trying this thin rubbery like tape stuff, but what do you think I should use of the three I've found? I'm not going to do anything until I get an opinion? Thanks for all the suggestions! -
I am getting my shotgun ready for turkey and I have a universal true glow sight for a front bead on my shotgun. My problem is it screws in and I have it where I want, but it will move if I barely bump it, and I can't screw it tighter unless I want to break it, so what can I use to keep it in place? I don't want to use super glue because I don't know if that'll ruin my sight?? Andy has a can of plumbers putty/glue stuff on his shelf that says adhesive/does not set so I was wondering if that might work? I won't be going to any gun shop to have them glue it on or whatever so if anyone can tell me anything, please let me know!!! Thanks!

Re: Youth Hunter Bit By Turkey In N.Y. Wow, awesome and congratd to him! My first thought to the title of your post was "what!!!???"

Re: This seems harsh Accidents/mistakes happen and they happen for us to learn from. May not of been the first thing to cross his mind but he knows it was a mistake now and won't do it again. Sure I wondered why did he cover it in the first place, but I'm not going to nag him about it or automatically assume it was for a "bad" purpose. He's got his reasons, so leave him be. At my college, if you purposely set off a fire alarm, without it being a fire, you get fined like $500! I wouldn't know because I live at home but working custodial, there are signs in the dorms.

Re: ATTN NY Turkey Hunters I think it would be good to start a little earlier, because I think by the time we do get to hunt, we miss out on some hot action. This April, we've had a really nice weather spell at least bit that doesn't go for every spring, lol.

Re: Ouch! My day just got tougher Hey, it was the initiatives professor who chose this element for us today, lol, the rope just didn't cooperate. I did make it through recertifying. Taped my hand up best I could. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Re: Ouch! My day just got tougher LOL. I probably won for most creative effort. It was all fun and good, unless you forget you are self belayed in to a rope and forget you can let go of a rope without falling, lol.

Some commercials on TV today, I can't believe it!

Re: Some commercials on TV today, I can\'t believe I hate the stupid Victoria's Secret commericals, those are so obscene in my book. There are alot of other commericals out there also that are uncalled for... -
Re: Getting Tired of Seeing This I just had the screen come up a few minutes ago also! Weird.

Re: Ouch! My day just got tougher Yeah, it might be stiff tomorrow, who knows! The trainer told me to take drugs, lol, and ice so that's about all I can do. I can try taping to support it but I don't even remember half of what she told me,lol

So my class was out on the ropes course and it was my turn, being 2nd to last, to go on the high element which involved balanced on two different wire elements to hooking into a huge rope and swinging off a platform. Well as I went for the swing down, my foot slipped out of the loop in the rope so I was only clipped in which was good but was hanging on for life with my hands. My hands finally hurt so bad i had to let go and just swing until they got the ladder. So my right hand really hurt after that and I thinked I sprained my right hand, so I checked with the trainer and got some ice. It's going to be tought because I have lifeguard recertification tonight and a paper to type, but I emailed the prof.to see if it was ok to turn it in late if i don't get it done. Well I feel better after the adrenaline rush on the ropes course, but my hand isn't too happy.

Re: What a bummer day... Yeah, it shouldn't really matter. It' their own problem if they don't like my post. I'm just having a really bad mood day, lol.

So I went to bed at 10pm last night, barely slept at all for reasons unknown. Before going to campus, stopped to try and get a health form for the camp I'm doing my internship at signed by the doctor on our insurance, only to be told I have to actually "see" him to get it signed, so now that is going to be next Monday at 9:30am (first day of turkey season). Then of course the fact that I feel so ignored sometimes on some hunting forums, maybe a bit on this one at times but on others more often. It's like geesh, why do people who have been members longer get talked to more or more visit their posts? Then I go to chapel and they are doing these awards for outstanding staff and students, aka who has the best grades, who's done the most volunteer work, who's life sucked the most, blah blah blah, just makes the average person feel really special, not. The weather is cold and rainy, I still have 2 classes left today then lifeguarding recertification at 7pm, so I won't be home until 8;30/9pm ish and still have to type up a paper due tomorrow. I'm really not in a good mood as you can tell, but I needed to vent so, and i'm not in a joking mood nor do I need someone's nasty comment either. there I'm finished.
