I hunt in Oklahoma--even though it's rumored that there are no ducks in oklahoma. I have two labs. A black female named Belle and a yellow female named Peach. I trained both of them--did have some help with a very good friend that is a professional trainer. Both dogs are titles in AKC and HRC. Ain't no fun duck hunting without my dogs.

Welcome to the forums. I'll talk duck/goose hunting with ya anytime. It will pick up when duck season starts. I primarily hunt small waters for ducks. In my area the number 1 duck I shoot are gadwals with mallards a close second. Always pick up an occasional woodie, pintail, wigeon, and teal. todd
  6. dang lewis----I was getting nauseated just thinking of being that high. I bet you can see miles. Very nice but i am kinda afraid of heights. todd
  7. Belle--Hunting Retriever Champion/Senior hunter Peach--Senior Hunter
  8. just remember that deer will hit minerals more at different times of year and also if your soil has higher mineral content then deer might not utilize your mineral stations as much. todd
  9. Wondering if anyone has shot the new Toxic Broadheads?

me too. i've had mine for a good 5 years and still going strong.
  11. yea--hard to beat clover for both deer and turkey. they both love it. being such a small seed, like William said, you can just broadcast it on the ground. If you do it on wet soil then the seed will suck right down in the mud. make sure you get a perenial clover such a Ladino. good luck todd
  12. man Rhino--you got some really nice bucks with great character.
  13. Haha--i just 100 Cabela club points yesterday. I ordered a tripod gun rest that supports the entire gun--made by caldwell. Seems like i hunt out of pop up blinds now more than tree stands. Getting old--lol. Plus my youngest loves going with the crossbow. I think that rest will really help her. todd
  14. wow---i'm jealous. very nice todd
  15. My 10 year old daughter shoots my full size Excalibur with no problems. I just made a rest for her with an old camera tripod and the girl hits the mark every time. She loves the crossbow.
  16. I am--didn't think I was going to be for awhile but I am now alive and well.
  17. wish i had that problem William. all my turkeys disappeared on me.
  18. i've used triticale and don't really think the deer preferred them over plain wheat or rye. I don't think they are worth the extra cost. a lot of farm seed stores make a wheat/rye mixture that would be a lot cheaper. mix it with some purple top turnips and you'll have forage the entire winter. your soybeans looks great. I have planted the eagle beans now for 5 years (didn't get the plant this year due to some health issues---dr banned me from the tractor). Hard to beat those eagle soybeans for the amount of forage they produce. good luck todd
  19. deer around my place always devour the sunflowers. I use them in spring mixture and get few of them to mature cuz the deer eat them to the ground. don't see too many eating the seeds or the flowers once they mature.
