  1. No shade killer--you need at least 4 full hours of sunlight for good production. Wait till rain. You have a good month left of planting time.
  2. your actually probably good for the next month. I agree going with an annual. Pick up some wheat and oats--plant and watch the deer enjoy. just try to plant before a rain. hopefully you guys are getting more rain then we are here in oklahoma.
  3. I can't ever imagine owning any thing other than an IPhone. Absolutely love it! Saying that it is the only smart phone I have owned so I can't compare it to the other smart phones. todd
  4. She sounds like a keeper and you got a heck of a deal!
  5. I don't use additives to my feeders. I personally like the broadcast feeders so I can control how much food is delivered. I like the Kenco Tornado feeder. Has 3 seperate motors. Got one that is close to 12 years old and still going strong.
  6. I have had decent luck using a product called Throw and Grow from Evolved Habitats. I have a micro plot that might get one hour of sunlight that I have used this on. Worked great and killed a nice buck off of it couple of years ago. todd
  7. I also prefer to spray when dry or wait later in day after dew has evaporated.
  8. I was late getting my beans in this year due to weather. We have been in such an extreme drought it was the 3rd week of May before I got them planted. Got a nice rain on them about 5 days later but now we are so dry i doubt they make it. We need rain really bad.
  9. lol--that's a good one.

    surgery

glad all went well! Enjoy the rest. todd
  12. i'm a eagle bean user also. I get a lot of late season use on my eagle beans as the deer pluck the seed pods of the dead plant. It almost like a year round plot.
  13. I agree. For a warm season anual that you are going to replant the plot in the fall it is difficult to not go with a pea or bean. Either a forage soybean such as the Eagle brand or a cowpea such as Iron and Clay or RedRipper. The only downfall is the peas/beans don't handle pressure well and can get overbrowsed in a hurry if in a small plot. good luck todd
  14. Yea---a big applaud to all forces involved!
  15. i'd mow also. Be careful mowing in summer even when it is tall. You don't want to mow when the clover is stress from heat or drought. I always like to mow right before a good rain. Takes a lot of stress off the clover from mowing to get a good rain on it right after mowing.
  16. Thanks everyone. Turned 46 today. Wow those years go by quick!!! todd
  17. fine for the rabbit--would pass on the dog though. Could easily break a tooth or if swallows a large chunk it could cause an obstruction. I have several laying around and my lab never even messes with them. todd
  18. Norm---i just patted Belle, my black lab, on the head after reading your post. The girl is with me all the time ( our favorite is in the duck blind). I am very sorry for your loss. They become such an important part of your family. todd
