  1. nope--never heard of it, however I don't supplemental feed my deer. I do have corn feeders throwing out a little corn but not a true supplemental feed. I depend on natural forbs and food plots.
  2. dang William---looks awesome!

    Would You?

If the money is in the acc't then i'd ship it.
  4. I have 4 calls on my lanyard. The cheapest is a mallard drake/wigeon/pintail whistle. Probably 12 bucks. The next is a custom made cocobola call that costs 70 bucks. A HOBO acrylic single reed $150. Zink Money Maker Acrylic $150. I have a box full of polycarb duck calls and yes a good acrylic can do so much more. Depending on your experience with a call I would highly recommend the HOBO calls. The double reed ICU2 is probably the easiest call but the Prime Meat single reed will do a little more. todd

i like tatoos when not overdone. If i didn't have kids I would probably get one but don't want my kids to get one so try to set an example. If i did get one i'd like to have a big fat dead mallard hanging from my dogs mouth!

    One tough dog...

I've been a practicing vet for almost 20 years now and saw a first today. One of my clients came running into the clinic holding her bloody dog in a panic screaming that his leg is missing. Examine the dog--which is in shock--and sure enough there is a hole where the front left leg was. The dog stuck it's leg through the fence and the neighbor's dog actually pulled the entire leg off the body of the dog---including the shoulder blade. Treated the dog for shock then a couple hours later did surgery to repair the hole. As of now dog is doing well under the influence of strong pain meds. todd
  10. Belle--6 yrs. AKC Senior Hunter and Hunting Retriever Champion Title.
  11. Hard to beat some mature oak trees. Small little hunting plots might not hold the deer on that property but sure can make a great little hunting spot. Especially if you can put in a travel route that leads to a larger feeding area. Once we know where you are located we can give you some ideas. I use rye grain and some annual clovers for my small little "killing" plots. todd
  12. WOW!!! congrats on an awesome kill. todd

  15. congrats William. I am very happy for you. If I would have started younger I would have had more kids. I love kids and can't express the joy my girls bring to me. My life now revolves around two beautiful girls. My youngest was born when I was 37. If I would have been 27 I'm sure I would have had at least one more maybe two. But as you know my father in law made sure I didn't have anymore. God Bless and again a big congrats. todd
  16. couple beautiful paintings. I'm sure you've scanned the internet. Wish I could help with giving you a value but I am not an art specialist. todd
  17. Good deal. Hunting with a dog just adds excitement to the hunt. Very weird season here---either we slay themor get blanked. Hopefully the rest of the second season will bring lots of greenheads our way. todd
  18. Lots of reasons for plot failure but you are correct--most are due to planting error. Mother nature can also play a role such as no moisture or a very early freeze. The number one cause IMO is planting the seed to deep. Turnips should do just fine in Ohio. Here in Oklahoma I always include turnips in my fall plantings. Usage is directly related to acorn production. In years with good acorn crops the turnips are usually not hit until late winter. In poor acorn years the deer hit them early and don't wait until a freeze to start eating them. Once the deer decide to eat them they go in a hurry. The first couple of years I planted them there was very little usage. It was like the deer had to learn that they were a good forage. Once they did though they get hammered every year. It is a very small seed so don't disc the seed under. I till the soil and then broadcast the seed. I then go back over the seed bed with either my ATV or tractor and just compact the seed into the soil. Once moisture arrives I always have a nice plot of turnips. Turnips love nitrogen so be sure to fertilize for best results. Merry Christmas todd
