  1. How much prep work with herbicides did you do prior to planting your perennial plot? Grasses can be tough to control once established. There are products such as Poast that you can use to kill the grasses though.
  2. Almost as bad as the Red Sox's flop!
  3. awesome buck Ryan. Really enjoyed the detailed hunt!!! congrats todd
  4. Season opened yesterday but didn't get to go. Youngest one had soccer and temps were warm with no wind. Didn't want to ruin the first hunt with poor conditions. Getting really excited though. good luck all todd

    I Lost My Hero

sorry for your loss buddy! todd
  6. Made the adjustments at halftime and the defense looked pretty darn good in the 2nd half. Seemed like we were in much better shape then A&M in the 2nd half.
  7. QDMA gets a bad rap cuz many hunters feel like they cater to the wealthy land owner who has large tracks of land. They think that we are only after big bucks---big difference between QDM and TDM--which confuses a lot of hunters. Hunters need to get on their website and do a little research which could change their mind. todd
  8. Go into College Station and come home with a big win. Go Pokes!!!!!!!! todd
  9. nothing wrong with that buck. i'd put an arrow in him!
  10. I have found that once you learn how to call correctly you can almost pick up any duck call and sound good. You need to go to an outdoor show where there will be lots of call makers and go blow a bunch of different calls. I blow a custom made cocobola call and an acrylic call made my Hobo Calls. Both are great calls but I also have a poly-carb Buck Gardner that is a 20 dollar call that sounds pretty awesome. Get a good instructional dvd and practice a lot. good luck todd
  11. planted my last plot this weekend. It is a 2 acre plot. Checked on the plot I planted a week ago and already getting some germination and getting good activity at the corn feeder. Lots of tracks. Waiting for October 1st! good luck everyone todd
  12. Hey Martin--that little girl is my huntin' buddy. She loves to go duck hunting--and no I don't make her get the birds. Belle does that for me. She does love helping with food plots and riding on the tractor with her daddy. Won't be too long and she will be carrying a gun! Hope you are doing well! todd
  13. your seed still needs to make soil contact so you'll need to do some prep work to make sure there is soil contact. One option is to run to wal-mart and purchase a small bag of throw and grow. ten bucks for a small bag that will do 1/4 acre---good for a small wooded food plot. Hamann Seeds does have a great food plot blend and Martin (owner) is great to work with. take care todd
  14. It is amazing at times he can look like such an awesome QB but man does this guy fold under pressure. After he threw the interception the announcers were putting some blame on Dez. I know he was a little injured but I saw no blame on Dez. Tony is the one who decided to throw the ball in thick double coverage and under threw the ball right in the defender's chest. todd
  15. Not a big fan of either team but the last 5 minutes of that game was pretty darn exciting. Always enjoy watching the Irish go down though!
  16. Got some good chances of rain this week so put in one quick plot after church Sunday. Took the youngest with me and put her to work. It was a spur of the moment decision so just ran to wal-mart and grabbed a small bag of Throw and Grow with is a sweet ryegrass, brassica, and annual clover. Ground was pretty dry but this plot is deep in the woods so it only gets about 4 hours of sunlight. Mowed the plot first and then used the 3-pt tiller to work up the ground. Tiller did a great job. I also put a corn feeder in case the drought we are in causes a plot failure. Izzy found a snake that the tiller found first and had fun playing with the headless snake. Felt bad for the snake though Going to put my big plot in this weekend. Hopefully we get some rain to soften up the ground so I can work it. todd
  17. still 3 weeks away from opener. Went today and planted a small hunting plot deep in the woods and filled up both corn feeders. We are in such a severe drought but have a few chances of rain in the middle of the week. Hoping the water arrives. good luck todd
  18. jealous! wish i had water to hunt right now. Both my ponds are bone dry due to the severe drought we are in. good job!!!! todd
  19. Welcome to the forums buddy! Don't worry--where there are does the bucks will find them. Should be anytime like stated that bachelor groups will start splitting up and territories get created. In another month I bet you'll see a couple of shooters. todd
  20. very nice---does it sound as awesome as it looks?
  21. Steve--deepest sympathy for you and your family. todd
  22. I think they have to eat a lot of corn for it to be a problem. tossing out a few pounds a day for the deer to eat will not cause a problem.
