Johnboy! What up, buddy? Add Noah Spence to the list. He's ranked in the top ten by all the recruiting websites..and he's from PA too. Nice.

super buck, man. nice work.

Dungey is a good man and would do a lot to repair their image at PSU, but I don't really know about his game-time coaching without Peyton Manning running his offense. He shoudl have won more Super Bowls in my opinion, but I do think he'd be a great influence on young men that age. Well, one of the recruits was committed to Penn State originally. A big nose tackle from Illinois, Tommy Schuut. He's the #52 recruit in the nation according to rivals.com. But, the other was Se'Von Pittman. He's a huge defensive end from Ohio who originally committed to Michigan State. With the fallout from the Tressel thing, OSU has lost some big name players from Ohio to both Michigan and Michigan State. Pittman is the 9th rated DE in the nation. The #1 Ohio recruit is Kyle Kalis. He's a big offensive tackle from the Cleveland area. He was originally committed to OSU then switched to Michigan. Doesn't look like he's going to change back to OSU, so I hope he enjoys watching Urban Meyer out smart Brady Hoke for the next 4 years of his life.

Urban Meyer has already flipped two big time defensive line recruits that were committed to other Big Ten schools. He's not done either, I'm sure there are a lot of recruits who have soft verbally committed that are going to make the switch to OSU. Meyer is flipping recruits faster than most SEC fans can flip the McDonald's hamburger patties during their shift. I know what you're gonna think when I say this, and yes, it's the most historic and classic program in the country already, but I think THE Ohio State University football program is going to reach heights never acheived before. No pressure though, Urban.

It's really hard pick against the Packers. They are one dimensional on offense and their defense has been a little worse than everyone expected. If a team can make them one dimensional, they're beatable, but I really think Rodgers is so good he can't be contained. I think Packers will play the Ravens in the Super Bowl and win. I really liked the Texans, but I don't think TJ Yates is going to win a playoff game, not even with their running game.

It was ridiculous. A QB sneak on that 3rd and goal gets them the TD. Why are they running stretch plays? Then, when your "rival" has beat you 20 times in their last 22 tries...maybe you can go for it on 4th and goal to try and make a statement and send a message to your team? If they stuff you, they still have to go 99.9 yards to score a TD. Instead, Shurmur decides he wants the 3 points, kicks a 19 yard field goal or whatever, after the kickoff, Steelers start their drive at the 27, and take only 5 plays before they hang 7 on the scoreboard. It was game over right then and there. They're finally starting to lose this fanbase. They've been lucky to be the only team in the league that can average 4 wins a year and still sellout every home game. I think those days are over. A lot of orange seats the last 4 games.

I know you remember the 80s dude. That pic of you and from the decade with the cheesey stache and the purple striped shirt is burned in my mind's eye. hahah You must have been the hippest dude at the Depche Mode concert that year!
-
You may have started using it here, that I will credit it you for...but to say you invented the phrase? Come on buddy, that's been used since the 80s!!

I know Tominator pretty well...and he's a huge dbag.:pacman:

First off, I want to personally thank michealkelvin for his contribution to the sports forum above. :1eye: You know what? I'm starting to change my tune on this subject a little bit. I don't think it's right to have a team that didn't even win its conference in the National Championship game. If LSU would have lost to Georgia, there would have been two teams that didn't win their conference in the title game...talk about a flawed system. Look, this SEC slurping has to stop. Alabama and LSU are great teams, no question, but outside of those two teams, the conference isn't that great. The problem is, ESPN as well as CBS have contracts with the SEC so we get it crammed down our thoughts and every hilljack south of the Mason-Dixon line has nothing else in their life so we gotta hear how great SEC football is. Oh yeah? How's Vandy doing? How about the downfall of Tennessee? Ole Miss is terrible, Florida fell to pieces. You got two teams SEC fans...that's it. Alabama is a great team, sure, but I would rather see two seperate conferences represented. I'd also like to see Okie States wide open pass attack against LSU's defense. That Okie St. loss to Iowa State was really a bad loss though. But it did come after a major tragedy and it was on the road. Would Okie St. beat LSU, I don't think so. But at least it would be a new matchup and I'm sure it would be more exciting than that 6-3 stinker Bama and LSU showed the nation a month back. I'd like to see Blackmon vs. Mathieu too.

haha if you're describing the euphoric state I'll be in when The Ohio State University wins their first of four consecutive National Championships, then I say it fits!

I would call Jerry Sandusky a dbag to his face. Also, JoePa is a dbag, even when he's not soiling his Depends on the sideline.

what sort of rest do you have on your bow? I know if you use a helical, it doesn't do well if you're shooting through a Whisker Biscuit. If you're shooting through a WB, maybe change your rest.

This is a video from local Cleveland comic, Mike Polk. I went to Kent. St. with this guy. He speaks for all Browns fans.

Kev, "OSU" means THE Ohio State University. Please just say Okie State or something. These are the two best teams in the country, so I think they got it right. I love watching LSU play defense.
-
coulda been the case too, but he seemed calm...that is until he heard me coming back from checking on my buddy's uncle.
-
Tim Brewster I think it was. Yeah, this is true. But, if OSU has more violations during Meyer's first year the NCAA is going to bring down the hammer.

Ohio's gun season opened Nov 28th and I saw the biggest buck I've ever seen while hunting. Huge 10 pointer, and he was walking out in the open about 90 min after sunrise. It made me wonder if he was trying to seek out some hot does.
-
First of all, Kev. I'm glad to see you're still alive. Long time, buddy. Yeah, the Buckeyes were lucky to have a guy like Meyer available. Braxton Miller was only the third true freshman to start of the Buckeyes. He needs to work on his accuracy, but they've never had a QB that has his big play ability. He already owns the longest TD run by a QB in OSU history. In Meyer's system, he should be a Heisman hopeful by 2013 if not next year. OSU already has a good pipeline into Florida's talent base, that is obviously going to improve ten fold. I also heard he's going to hire the ex-Minnesota head coach. I don't remember the guy's name, but he supposedly is a big time Texas recruiter. Texas, Florida, and Ohio and three of the top four high school football states as far as talent goes... The future looks bright. I'm obviously pumped. I just hope he keeps the program clean. The fallout of the Tressel things has been embarrassing. They need a guy who runs a clean program, unfortunately, Meyer really hasn't done that. So...hopefully he has changed.

Shot a doe, found a shed, dude fell out of a stand...
muggs replied to muggs's topic in Deer Hunting
Yeah, I gotta post a pic of this shed. It would have easily been the biggest 6 pointer I've ever seen if I would have seen it walking during bow season. He'll be a monster deer next year. For 72, my buddy's uncle is in really good shape. He actually does senior triathlons. I'm sure that helped his cause. -
So, we're hunting my buddy's uncle's land. I had an eventful opening morning of Ohio's gun season. I got a doe in the evening, but the morning was even more eventful. I found a huge 3-point shed near my stand (actually kicked it with my foot in the dark and was lucky to even notice it). It's huge for coming from a 6-pointer. A lot of mass, and he's going to be a nice deer next season. I could see my friend's uncle from my stand. He was over my left shoulder about 300 yards away. He was up in a 16 foot high wooden ladder stand he must have built about 20 years ago. It was rickety at best and we all told him he shouldn't climb up there (he's 72 years old, but still moves well). Sure enough, right around 8am I hear a crash and I no longer see his blaze orange in his stand. So, I climbed down and ran over...he's laying there. I called his nephew and helped him to his feet. Luckily, he just pulled a muscle in his leg. That's not the worst part of the story though. On my way back to my stand, as I came over a little ridge and could see the area I was hunting I see a monster 10 pointer standing about 30 yards from my stand. He hears me and takes off. I would say he was 170ish and the biggest buck I'mve seen while hunting. I'm still bummed about that, but all in all, it was a good day. Stange to find a shed this early in Ohio.

Yeah, they're saying the Buckeyes will play the Gators. Meyer won't be coaching that game though. They're letting Fickle ride out the year, hopefully so Urban can personally visit some of this big time recruits and have them come over to THE best athletic program in the nation. I'm not going to knit-pick this hire, but the Buckeyes have some big running backs in Carlos Hyde and now with Brionte Dunn committed. These are 220 lbs. backs with good speed...NFL style backs if you will. Meyer has never had a 1,000 running back...and guys like Percy Harvin, Jeff Demps, and Chris Rainey are all 5'10" and 180 lbs. I hope he uses these big backs correctly. If me wants to mix in the smaller speed burners he recruits that's fine too, but I don't want to see Dunn de-commint and Hyde transfer.

Sources from inside OSU are saying it's a 7-year deal with aprpox. 40 million. dude is worth every penny. It started with Bowling Green U in western Ohio, he built Utah up from the nothing, then won two titles with the Gators. If he can win two titles at some fly by night dump like Florida, sky is the limit at a traditional power like OSU.

Weeden is a system guy. He's this year's version of Colt Brennan. Dude plays in a wide open pass-first offense with sick WRs. The most legit guy on that team is Blackmon, who would look great in a Browns uni- until they ruin his career haha. But yes, Kev. Landry Jones. Ball comes out quick, and I've seen him make all the NFL throws.
