  1. That's a heck of a deal! I need to start replacing some of my older stands. I figured the treestand deals were pretty much over.....nice catch Frank!
  2. Hmm. Let me know what they say. I never really worried about it since it seems to shoot fine, but am interested if they have a solution.
  3. Looks like a great trip! 30 miles sounds like a pretty solid day of skiing. I tried skiing at Hidden Valley a few years ago and wasn't too good at it so never been back lol.

    Big news

Congrats to you and your girlfriend Shaun! There's nothing in the world like being a daddy.

    Slash

Happy birthday Slash! Have a good one! It's been a while since we seen a happy birthday thread around here.
  6. Best buck I would say Rackblaster. Fly's buck is right there with it. I think Ruth and Slash have the best pictures. Man, it didn't take long to looks through the pictures lol. Entries barely made it past the first page this year.

    Live,Love life

Man, sorry to here that Muff. My dad had a heart attack that took him at 40. Prayers on the way for Gerald's friends and family. I need to make it a point to get away for a trip with my family this year.
  8. Yea, lots of people complain about the scopes that Barnett uses. I don't mind it too much since I hunt with a cheap red dot on my slug gun. My bolts don't sit completely flat on the rail either, but the thing is dead on at 30 yards. ( I haven't shot it any farther and want to keep the kids shots under 30 yards.) I wish they would let kids hunt with them during the full archery season here. My daughter won't be able to pull 40 lbs. back on a compound for at least another 3 or 4 years.
  9. Congrats to team 5! You were knocking them down this year. As usual, great job running the contest Redneck. It's much appreciated.
  10. Sounds like a great trip! Be safe. I actually just got back from Tampa about a week ago from a work trip. Now that we have another little one I see another Disney trip coming in the next few years.
  11. Yea, it will be interesting to see how it turns out. If they thought something was wrong or unusual about the guy i would think that they would be a little more guarded and on edge. I did see the movie last week and thought it was very good. I'm also about 3/4 of the way through the book, which is a great read. I have to say the media perception of that war was far different than what actually happened. I have a cousin and a brother in law that were over there, and after seeing the movie and reading the book I see them in a little different light now knowing what they lived with and had to endure.
  12. The Glendel should be fine. I had a Redhead layered target that stopped arrows from my compound just fine, but the Recruit would send them straight through unless it was turned sideways. I actually have a bag target that works great for the crossbow.
  13. That is a heck of a deal! I bought the Recruit for my kids two seasons ago and it's been solid so far. The trigger is a little stiff, but other than that it pretty decent. I bought some carbon bolts from Sportsmans Guide on sale last year for like $20 for 6. The Muzzy's should be fine too.
  14. Man o man....I am with you. I have never been a cat person. If you are kind enough to let somebody live with you for a period of time, the least they could do is not inconvenience the entire family by bringing pets with them. It seems totally disrespectful on her part. I am pretty sure the cat would've disappeared if it would've been my hand. We offered to let my sister live with us while she was getting divorced. I love her more than anything, and she is welcome to stay with me anytime she needs to. The problem was she had a German Shepard and a cat at the time, and I didn't want them in the house so she found somewhere else to stay for a few months. She understood completely and eventually found good homes for both animals.
  15. Sweet! The shop up the road has a 35 yard indoor 3D pop up range and I shot in a league there for a few years. I haven't done it in a year or two now because of so many activities the kids are in.
  16. I just bought the book and downloaded it to my phone so that I have some reading material for sitting at the airport the next few weeks. Hopefully I have some time to see the movie when I get back.

    Funny

LOL I haven't heard that one.
  18. I can't wait to see it. I haven't heard a single bad review on the movie. With all of the crap they are coming out with in the theater it's nice to have something come out that has some meaning and opens some eyes.
  19. Is anybody still going at it? Man, we got man handled in the points this year lol. Our season closes after this weekend. I'll be out with my daughter one last time, so we'll see what happens.
  20. Man I would love to get in a hockey league. The closest rink is about a 45 minute drive with out traffic. There is talk of one being built about 20 minutes from here, so hopefully it happens. I weight train three days a week all year round to stay in shape. I never lifted a weight until I turned 30. I'm turning 39 this march, and am stronger and in better shape than when i was in my 20's. I never diet, just eat sensibly pretty much all the time. Admittedly I don't do much cardio. I go on a mile run with my daughter once in a while or run some sprints. I do get a little running in practicing soccer and ball with the kids.
  21. I can't see any pics Shaun. Sounds like a good deal on the sled....a Skidoo I hope . I have one more weekend to try and get my daughter a deer still. Her softball practices started last night, so that takes up some time and gets us out of the house. I have to spend 8 days in Florida for work in the beginning of February. When I get back from that it will be time to start prepping for next season...scouting, moving stands, cutting a few trees down. Before you know it turkey season is here, the days are getting longer, and ball season is firing up. I guess i don't have time to get the winter blues lol. Plus I still plan on hitting a few hockey games and taking the kids skating.
  22. I'll have to keep an eye on this. We have 130,000 on out '05 Suburban. I haven't noticed anything unusual yet.
  23. Congrats Frank! Man, you had a great season! He's a nice buck...I would also guess a 3 year old. No doubt the short brows hurt the score a little, but he's a great buck regardless.
  24. Congrats on the babies! I'm still going at it, albeit at a slower pace. I hunted at a buddies farm last Saturday and passed on a few does. Time is going to be limited with the holidays, but I'm hoping to get my daughter out with her crossbow a few times if the weather cooperates. Barring some miracle i would say that we got our butts handed to us in the points this year lol.
  25. Congrats Rhino! Man, talk about a great year. I think you seen more deer in those two days than i've seen all year lol.
