Agreed. Heavy acorn crop here too, deer sightings down. I just think they're spread out due to the abundance of acorns. Be patient. They'll make it over to your area eventually.

Headin out tomorrow morning. Right into high winds. Should be interesting. At the very least, the low pressure system should have them up and moving. -
Beautiful? LOL I'm lookin at 30mph winds all weekend. Good luck to all

2 days and we're on! Just finished fletching the arrows. Camo is in the wash. Just gotta put the Slick Tricks on the arrows and put em in the quiver. Now its just a waiting game. One more class this afternoon and work tomorrow and I'm free and clear to hunt the first 3 days. On a side note though, we are expecting some serious storm tonight through tomorrow. It's gonna make for an interesting sit in the tree Saturday and Sunday. We're expecting 15-30mph winds all weekend. Monday is supposed to taper off. But originally the forecast said 50-60mph winds all weekend. That was last night. Checked the forecast this morning and it changed to only 15-30mph winds. Gusts around 30 so I'm figuring it to be a steady 15mph breeze... Anyone wanna exchange cell #'s so we can keep eachother company while in the stand? -

1 week to go for me folks! I hate how NY opens so late. I'm itching. Got the Slick Tricks in the mail. Still waiting on the arrows. Good luck to everyone gettin out this weekend! -
My buddy and I had a flock of 6 hens come in on us this weekend. Two were bearded. I couldn't get a shot but he did and he gave her a nice haircut, well feathercut. She turned last second and the arrow cut the feathers off her back. Will be back at it this weekend.

Alright we're on the board. Sorry for being away team. Been very busy ensuring I can take all the time off in deer season. We have 11 days to go here in NY and I'm itching like no other. Just ordered up another dozen arrows and 2 more packs of Slick Trick Mags last night. Been doing some fall turkey hunting with my buddy. Haven't gotten a shot off on anything but I've only been able to hunt mornings. While I was at work my buddy was in the woods and killed a hen on Saturday and another on Sunday. <_< Anyway, I've been getting alot of day time movement on my camera which is good, but who knows what it will be like in 11 days. Rubs and scrapes are popping up everywhere and its only a matter of waiting now. My DXT is all tuned and ready to rock and roll. Just need those broadheads I just ordered. Good luck to all. -
Now that is one man I would have loved to have met.

Alright team.. slight change of plans. We can kill bucks and does! So tomorrow morning, I'll be in the blind with my buddy and we'll be trying to thwack something! Hopefully I can acquire some points for us before NY's season actually starts! I love nuisance permits. -

I'll be doing some doe killing this weekend for sure! Got in on that nuisance hunt! -
I shot a cow of a doe in 2008 during the tail end of our regular season. She went 140lb dressed. She barely had any teeth left in her mouth and she was dry (no milk). We estimated her at over 6 years old. She had a ridiculously thick fat layer on her too but my Brenneke slug still found its way through it.

Hey team.. just checkin in.. I'm out of town for the weekend. Got pics of all of the bucks I've been seeing out of velvet. Found a few rubs the other day. 34 days to go for me in NY! -
Slick Tricks fly like fieldtips for me out past 60 yards. Literally same hole accuracy with field points.
-
Actually.. I lied.. I did some digging and found 2 pics, entrance & exit of a 100gr Muzzy 3 blade on a doe I shot in 07
-
I've killed deer with Muzzy 75gr and Muzzy 100gr 3 blades. Flew great for me off all of my bows except for my DXT. My DXT seemed to like only Slick Tricks. Muzzy's are great heads. You can't be the price and they certainly can put a hurting on a critter when they find the right spot. I don't have any pics of Muzzy entrance/exit holes but I have a few Slick Trick pics. This is why Slick Trick 100gr Magnum's will be in my quiver opening day:

I'm here! Ready to rock and roll too! Got a 7 out of velvet last night on my trail cam. The others are still in velvet. Planning on hunting NY & VA this year. We get cranking on October 16th. -
Been getting pics of some decent bucks behind the house. I know one is back from last year for sure. But we'll get to him in a little bit.. First up is a nice yearling 7 point who looks to have potential if he can avoid getting hit by a car: Next up is a goofy little spike: And another spike: Next is a funny looking 5 point: Next is what looks to be a solid 3 year old 7 point. He looks like he could become something with a few more years, but he'll certainly be hard to pass up. We'll see what he looks like after the velvet comes off. Tine length, spread and mass all look good. Lets just see if he can keep the mass after shedding velvet. This was the first and last time I got pics of him: And now finally we get to the pinnacle of my trail cam pics so far this summer...A few months ago I got this pic and saw what looked to be the big wide forkhorn I passed up a few times last year: Then I went just about a month and a half without him showing his face again... til I got these pics... it was him.... or so I thought... At first I was kind of upset that he wasn't the big wide fork he was the year before, but then a few days later guess who made a guest appearance? Yup. The Wide Forkhorn. Anyone care to throw an age out there on this buck? I know he's atleast a 3.5 year old. He has a body like a horse, a sagging belly and muscular brisket, but long legs. I can't quite put an age on him. Anyone ever seen a whitetail forkhorn this wide before? Well, I know these are the breeder bucks in PA but thats another story.

Still waiting on this wonderful state to send me my backtag and other tags. I have a Lifetime Sportsman and Lifetime Archery. Just went and got my DMPs though. I was denied for the second straight year in 3H. Got my one for 3R though.
