    POTUS logic

Sad part William is so many people in this country buy his BS and will continue to do so with Bernie or Billary. We do not need another 4 or 8 years of this junk.

Wow Joe...Heck of a lot of post there. Time sure does fly. Congrats.
  3. While in West Texas a few years ago. I had a Pilated Woodpecker play rat tat tat ALL day on the feeder full of corn. Sounded like a machine gun. Needless to say we saw nothing while on stand. Watched a Goshawk swoop down and kill a mourning dove and sit there and eat it. I shot a groundhog and left it out for predator bait with other deer scraps. While watching the pile from the house. A turkey vulture flew down for a meal and was chowing down when a hen turkey came trotting up to it looking for interaction...The vulture wanted no part of it. It took 20 mins for the Vulture to finish the groundhog. Got a few mins of it on video
  4. Wow...time does fly. Whew...I'm feeling old . My my my how she has grown. Congrats to her and Mom and Dad for doing a awesome job.
  5. I got out quite often this year. My knee surgery and recovery seemed to go in step with hunting season. What a lucky guy. My only issue was if I got something, how would I drag it with my knee. Well I got lucky opening day, shot a good buck my son was close by and he took care of it for me Passed numerous does and small bucks at camp. Rifle season was a bust.saw nothing at all. Had to leave camp and come home to find deer. My son Joe set me up in a good area close to home and while he was checking traps we knew something would run out of the cat tails. A big body spike. He hit the dirt, then the freezer. This weekend is our last here for muzzle loading. Going to try and get one more.
  6. Are we considered hard core Realtree? I am with you William about wanting it to pick up around here. I like this place and met and made a few friends along the way. Merry Christmas Mrs WTNHUNT! The best to you and the whole family.

    Heat wave.

Sheesh...I have had windows open during the day and it has not even been cold enough to start a fire for warmth through the night. The deer have their winter coats on and it is like they are wearing a parka in July. They don't move until the temps drop. Gone nocturnal.
  8. Hey there Tim! Hope all is well with you and the family. Was down on my land in the Hill Country of Texas in April and shot a, free range Axis buck and Muntjac. This Oct 1st I arrowed a 98" 6pt here in Rockland and last Tuesday afternoon my son Joe dragged me out of the house to sit on the other side of this piece of woods with the slug gun while he was checking his traps. A big bodied cow horn spike ran right me and I helped him hit the dirt. Joe has shot a few does( he is buckless so far this year) and his girlfriends first year hunting. She has 2 does and one buck in the freezer. We have been having a good season. A few pics. Talk to you soon. Joes girlfriend Sammi

    Expandables

I guess I'm a dinosaur in the expandible world. I still use NAP Spitfire over the top expandibles. 100gr. Always left a massive wound and blood trail. They have been to known to be found closed when finding your arrow after shooting a game with it. They snap back closed after penetration and exit. No complaints from me on these broadheads. I know you have heard this a million times...BUT. Shot placement is the key. Rage are the type of head either you love them or hate 'em. Spitfire entrance.
  16. Great job Carlee. Congrats to Dad for raising you right!
  17. Congrats to Whiskey, nice mass on that buck. Dang JBeck...Your daughter(s) are getting so big. Time flies. Congrats on the buck. I have posted this before earlier this month. Opening Day Oct 1st. Never seen a 6pt this big. Green score 98". Lets keep this thread going.

    Opening Day buck

Thank you guys and Ruth. It has been a while since I shot something here close to home. I prefer hunting an hour north of here. The animals are far less tolerant of human intrusion.and the probability of various game species are far more prevalent ( Bear, Coyote, turkey ect). My son Joe convinced me to hunt close to home opening day and I am glad I did. This was a good buck for me. Glad I was able to make the shot having been practicing with the recurve all summer, then picking up the Mathews for this hunt. Thanks again.

    Opening Day buck

Thanks guys...I'm still smiling. Gonna do a Euro mount. My son Joe bought a grinder, some adult beverages and we will be in the garage cutting him up tomorrow. Still have a few doe tags for this area but the weather will not cooperate the next few days it seems. Extremely windy here.
