Is Scott Hughes or Lynne Pankey still around at Realtree? I have sent several emails and no response. I am asking for donations for our Natl Hunting and Fishing day Sept 24th. Realtree gave 4 years ago some stickers and kids books, but haven't got or heard anything since. I keep sending and asking, but no reply.

NYS safe act provides for background checks for ammo purchases. But the Governor thought he was gonna use the FBI system with his state law. The Feds told him NO. So NYS is in the process of putting together their OWN data base for ammo purchases. NY gun owners can NO LONGER buy ammo through the mail. Has to go to a gun shop or FFL. Laws like these are EXACTLY why I am moving and retiring to Texas. Oh this next election is SOO important.

The German (early) Weatherbys were built on FN actions. Boy are those desirable. I'd say between $1000 and 1500. Maybe even more if rare.

Trapping is the only way to get rid of the freeloaders. Set a bunch of duke dog proofs or 220 conibears in buckets and let the blood spill. My neighbors in Texas tried carpet tackless strips on the feeder poles, shock wires around feeder spinner plate. The coons kept coming. Killing them is the only way to stop the raiders from raiding.. Good Luck.

He will be a good buck, no doubt.. Velvet is so hard to tell their potential. I have been disappointed so many times when bucks shed their velvet. Its like hoof shrinkage. But he will be a shooter. Rest assured.

I shoot about a dozen a year. Up to 4 so far this year with the gun and one with the bow. I lay them out in our field for the Raptors and Vultures. Use a 22mag Rossi single shot 32gr V Max. Had one mounted a few years back because I never saw a Orange one. Now I see it all the time

Ahhhh...Velvet The growth stage. My son Joe and I have watching the growth on a few good bucks that visit our yard often. One of them I have already put my tag on so to speak;). A non typical with split brows...so far.

That is how I feel Joe He was a great fighter, but had no love for the USA. Was controlled by Elijah Muhammad.

Thanks Ron...Yup when we leave NYS it is a whole different world regarding firearms and freedoms. I cannot wait to tell Coumo where to go Got my custom barrel in 300 BO! It came the other day. I am shopping glass for it. I am torn about going with a Nikon P-300 made for the 300 BO , a Leupold Rifleman or VX1, or a Ziess Terra 3x9x42. The Ziess ia about a $100 more than the others but it is a Ziess. I am looking forward to breaking in this barrel and getting a can on it when I get back down to Texas.

NY's season starts way too late. Opens May 1st. Has been raining around here since Sunday. My son Joe is up at camp now trying to nail a gobbler. Good Luck everyone and hunt safe.

I don't think it matters much Ruth. A shotgun does not operate under the tolerances that a bullet does when it is forced out a barrel. If a land or groove gets junk in it that could be bad for accuracy in a rifled barrel. Your shotgun choke will be delivering all the accuracy in that 2-3' of tube. I almost never clean my turkey pump gun(mossberg 835). I just lube up the rails a bit and mag tube and go hunting.

Our season starts way too late here in NYS They have been gobbling and hot for quite some time around here.

Beavers are crafty critters William. Good luck getting all of them and limiting the damage. The hides are worth a few $. So Skin and stretch them. If you tan them they are worth more. A 70lb Beaver is a BIG one. Have fun.

Suppressor use is whole new world William. The fact of not having to wear ear protection when shooting is a great attraction. Also when hunting and shooting you are being as least intrusive to woods as possible when you shoot. There is still a big thump when the bullet hits the hog or animal shot at. I am glad you looked in to trust. Easy and cheap. This is where my cousin and I set ours up. https://silencerco.com/nfa-trust/ But if your looking into doing it. Do it soon. Because the rules will be changing soon. After July1st all NFA trustees and Settlors will have to be finger printed and pictures given to the ATFE when changes and additions are made to the trust. I too was never into single shots. But with being exposed to silencers and SBR's has taught me that those type rifles are the most effective when suppressing fire. I just yesterday bought another threaded barrel in .300 Blackout for my Encore from www.MatchGradeMachine.com. This bug has bitten me hard

Well, visiting Texas the last 7 years has put a MAJOR bug in my bonnet. So big a bug that I bought land there and am part of a Trust set up by by cousin who lives cross the road from my land. The Trust allows us to buy suppressors, SBR's(short barreled rifles) and if we could afford one some day, machine guns. We have a few cans so to speak now, but none in 30 cal. We have a Silencerco Harvester on order. It takes 3-5 mos for the paperwork to clear ATFE and you to get actual possession of the item. But the beauty of the trust is we only have to pay the $200 Tax stamp once for each item purchased and the trust owns the items listed on it, like a company. As long as the trust stays active we can add and remove people without paying any extra fees and not needing the sheriff to sign off on the Class 3 purchase(s). So...with these purchase looming. I had to get ready for what I can own LEGALLY own here in NY and be able to use when I go and eventually move to Texas. Got myself a special Run of a H&R Handi Rifle done by Advanced Armament Corp in .300 AAC Blackout. Rifle has a threaded 16.25"barrel and is super small, just within legal size for a rifle. . I upgraded the stock to a Boyds and man does it look pretty now. Topped it with a SWFA PEPR mount and a Millet DMS-1 Scope with donut reticle. The .300 BO caliber was designed to burn all of its powder in a 7-9" barrel. So it was basically invented for suppressor and SBR use. Bullet weights range from 100-220 grains. The 220's are PERFECT for suppressor use and hunting. These rifles are legal 16.25" bbls and do not need to be registered as SBR's. Before the stock change. After the stock change. The second is TC Encore in .223. Had the bbl cut to 16.25" and threaded. I am on the hunt for a .300 BO barrel for the Encore. Keep your eyes open for one for me. The single shot is perfect for suppressor use. The gas has nowhere to go.

Good bird. Congrats on the Tom.

My son Joe found one side of a big 8 he passed on because it was in someones backyard last November. Right after he found that shed... a few steps later, he fell on ice and broke his foot. A Jones fracture is what its called. The boy has been on crutches the last 5 weeks . So normally we would be rolling in the sheds by now, but my #1 shed hunter is on the DL list. Good luck to everyone and hope y'all get there before the squirrels do.

Good luck with the rifle Shaun. That caliber is known to be a tack driver. Also start shopping for ammo Better to have too many rounds than not enough.
